Hello hello, my name is Jay! I'm a content creator on Youtube who is running a series called the "OC Snippets"! These are a series of short animatic-style videos ("snippets") that follow the various stories of my many different original characters ("OCs") and will be featuring voice-overs for some of the stories featured - meaning that I'll need voice actors to bring the stories to life!
Raywood Academy is an original comic created by myself that was first started in 2020, and is still in progress. Raywood Academy is set inside of Osaka, Japan, where inside of the fictional town of Raywood, many strange events start occuring, including appearances from the yakuza. In this side comic/OC Snippet, Natasha Taylor Jr., a British trans girl whose mother mysteriously disappeared, now must work together with one of Osaka's top detectives in order to track down the person she stole her name from (her mother - also named Natasha Taylor). But perhaps what happened merely killed two birds with one stone...?
What do I need to do?
A) Make sure you read everything about the characters first! I've tried my best to describe their personality and what voice they should preferably have.
B) Make sure your microphone quality is up to scratch - no pops, whistles, or muffled audio. And please leave your audio largely unedited and as crisp as possible!
C) Having a Discord account is mandatory for this project, as it will be the main form of communication for this project.
D) Feel free to try and give your own spin on the character - I'd love to hear your take on their voice and possibly find something that I never would have imagined before!
E) Keep in mind that this is an unpaid project, and may possibly become long-term in the future dependant on the reception of the short.

Natasha is a somewhat meek soul who has a secret passion for crime solving and murder mysteries. She's decided to extend this passion into the cause of finding out what happened to her birth mother - a detective who went missing 10 years ago
Natasha is a transgender girl, so I would preferably like this to be reflected in the casting. She is around 17 years old, and should have a British accent.

(casually) So this is what detective money can buy. No wonder why my inheritance was so high.
(hesitant) I…I need your help, actually. I need the contact information of the detective that helped you.
(jokingly) Did I strike a nerve, detective?
Natasha Taylor Sr. is Natasha's missing mother, who used to be a detective whose main focus was tracking down crime syndicates, such as the mob or the yakuza. Ten years ago, she disappeared with no explanation.
Miss Taylor is a kind and gentle soul, and is depicted in the short as, well, a motherly figure towards her young daughter. She's around 30, and speaks with a British accent.

Harvey Crown is Natasha's best friend, who has recently moved to Japan in order to attend Gideon Raywood International Academy, a prestigious school in Raywood, Osaka. He's rather down-to-earth, and cares deeply for his friends, though he has a lot of anxiety surrounding his own self image. He is also dating Tekashi.
Harvey is around 17, and speaks with specifically a London accent.

Isuzu Tekashi (last name Isuzu, first name Tekashi) is a Japanese boy who has had a lot thrown at him throughout his life. Not much is known about his past, since he prefers to not talk about it, but what IS known is that his parents were neglectful and may have collusions with the yakuza. All in all, he's slightly reserved and standoff-ish in front of people he doesn;t know very well, but at heart, he is the nicest person you will ever have the joy of meeting.
A Japanese accent isn't required for this role! I'm up to interpretations as to what Tekashi should sound like, but I imagine him with a deeper voice.

(suspicious) Why him? Why Osharu?
Osharu Damon (last name Osharu, first name Damon) is an up-and-coming detective who has lived in Raywood his entire life. He was close friends with Miss Taylor (Natasha's mother) before she disappeared, and has been trying to uncover the mystery surrounding her disappearance. He is also aquaintances with Tekashi, after saving Tekashi from a yakuza-related incident around a month prior. Osharu is largely lax, but can get serious when it comes down to it.
Osharu doesn't have to have a Japanese accent, as I'm open to interpretations of what he should sound like.

(hesitant) This is unfortunately a normal occurrence for the yakuza I knew all those years ago.
(annoyed) I still don't know. My only guess is that…his parents owe them something.
