Extra/Ordinary - *Original Audiodrama Pilot*
Project Overview
Trying to make it to work on time but an angry villain literally abducted the bridge? Enjoying some quiet time at a café but someone just got plasma-zapped through the window? Just bought that dream car when all of a sudden a giant robot smashes right through it? Living in a city full of superheroes isn’t all what’s it’s cracked up to be. While everyone might be cheering for the heroes, the citizens living around them are just trying to live their lives without something else accidentally crashing through their apartments or ruining their weekend plans.
Enter Hannah: Your average Horizon City citizen and employee at SuperSafeCo, an insurance company that covers damages caused by superheroes and their villains. She’s just trying to figure out her life and attempting to keep Todd, her bright-eyed but socially inept, best friend out of trouble. When she uncovers he may be hiding a secret, Hannah realizes her life is about to get messy. Like, super-messy.
I'm currently casting the lead role of Hannah for PILOT EPISODE.

Hannah: mid-twenties, dry sense of humor, can come across as a trouble-maker and tends to rub the wrong way with authority, but she has a strong moral compass. When push comes to shove she knows when to stand up for what's right.
Important to know: Todd is her best friend and other main character of the audiodrama. He's wholesome and kind, like a golden retriever. Hannah and Todd have been best friends since middle school and tend to banter with each other good-naturedly

INT. OFFICE BUILDING EMERGENCY STAIRWELL
A mass of people are already trickling down from other parts of the office building.
HANNAH
He can't be all that great if he's just letting his hostages escape.
TODD
Didn't you hear him? There's no telling how big the bomb is. Even if we evacuate the entire building, he could still take out the surrounding area.
HANNAH
How do we even know who he's looking for?
TODD
Well, the computer hacking, the mask and voice...it all points to Dark.net. I guess his fight with Star Lad from last night isn't quite over.
HANNAH
Seriously, who let either of them pick their own names?
TODD
I think they're pretty good names.
HANNAH
Yeah well, you also had a pet turtle named Sally Monella...
TODD
That is a good name!
HANNAH
Whatever, doesn't matter now. Do you really think there's a superhero hiding among us?
TODD
Who knows? I mean, they all have secret identities, right? It makes sense that some would have day-jobs.
HANNAH
Yeah, but working at an insurance company? That deals with the damages he's helped cause? You would think he'd pick something...less ironic?
TODD
Well, he is one of the "good guys". Maybe he just wants to help!
HANNAH
You always did see the best in people Todd.
Suddenly, Todd stops. Several people bump into him and comment, "watch it!" or "keep moving!"
HANNAH
Hey, what's wrong?
TODD
Wait...shoot! I forgot something upstairs!
HANNAH
Dude, there's a robot-man threatening to set off a bomb that could literally be under our feet. Is this really a good time??
The main plot focuses on Hannah, who works for an insurance company that covers supers-related damage. One of the core employees is the office gossip, Jenny. She reminds me of Molly Weasley a bit. Her love language is lots of smothering, and she always has the kitchen stocked with fresh baked cookies for her clan of teens. If anyone knows all the drama going on in the office, it's Jenny. If not, she's definitely gonna find out.
Voice-wise, Jenny is a bit of a wild card. I imagine her to sound fairly comedic, and any dramatic/fun voices for older women are welcome!
1) Oh no no no, this isn't good at all! What if that super villain finds him! What do you think he'll do??
2) I wish I could be as confident as you Hannah! Your best friend runs right into danger and you're cool as a cucumber!
3) Oh, poor Todd. I can't help to think all that was a little too much for him. He always seemed so fragile.
