Operation Carnage
Project Overview
Welcome to Darker Truths in Strange Fiction! If this is your first time seeing one of our casting calls, please read this first part carefully to make sure that this is a project that you will want to participate in.
Our studio tackles the darker side of mental illness through fictional works. Some of these works may be pure fiction, and others, like this casting call, will be much closer to reality with only a few fictional parts. There will be projects that will be uncomfortable to work on, and if you get cast you won't be expected to work on any projects that would push you too far outside of your comfort zone, but you will be expected to be a team player for whatever projects that we run in the studio.
Rules:
Must be 16 or older to audition, we talk about sensitive topics relating to mental health, and we expect some level of maturity.
Respect everyone, especially staff, and have an open mind.
Self-Accountability is important, we can’t keep track of everyone and keep the studio running with all of our projects.
This will be a paid project, but it may be delayed slightly, we need to get the first episode up and rolling, and build a fan base that wants to support us. That’s how it works as an indie studio.
Everyone has to do their part in order to make this studio run, that means advertising all episodes, sharing when the studio does something new, not just projects and episodes you might be in.
That being said, let's dive into Operation Carnage.
This project tackles the conspiracy theory that the government can control you through your social media. Our goal will be to show the slow breakdown caused by paranoia.
The series will follow three different groups of people: The main 3 in OC HQ, The Captiol/White House, and the target and his family/friends. All three groups are woven together as the control starts to set in, and OC’s plan starts falling in place.

He tracks people's social media usage, and makes notes of suspicious activities. He's also a field operative and is the only person who ever comes in physical contact with the targets of OC. He keeps an eye on their mental states in person as well as on social media. He's 25 years old, a smart alec most of the time, he doesn't like the job, but he never really complains about it.
(excited) This is going better than expected. I may actually have something to report.
(nervous laugh) Orders from work.
(scoff) Yeah... weird.
(serious) You're not safe just because he left the room. This job isn't pretty, but it keeps us alive. The moment any of us make a wrong move, it's game over.
She's the surveillance specialist, she hacks into webcams, phone cameras, street cameras, anything to be able to keep track of the targets when Tanner is not in direct contact with them. She's very work focused, and doesn't have time for much else. She likes the job, and doesn't mind making the call when it's time for someone to die. She's 28 years old. She doesn't experience much emotion, and she tends to be condescending, especially to Tanner.
(mocking, condescending) Speak for yourself, I'm always working, you're the only one with a job on the line.
(annoyed) God, could you be any worse at striking up conversations?
(mocking) You're a field operative, you're supposed to know how to do this, now keep moving.
(serious) Understood, we will find a different approach.
They are a very disorganized person, their job is to find files, or create them and send them to the targets to feed their paranoia. They tend to be very anxious, they're good at their job but not very social in the 'office'. They hate the purpose of the organization, but their skills fit the job description so they do what is needed and then leave. They are 22 years old.
(exacerbated) Yep, I swear this job brings out the crazy in me sometimes.
(calm) I know that, he just makes me anxious. Just give the word, and I'll do what I need to do.
Uptight, strict about timelines, the only direct line of communication between the commander and the OC team. He's in his mid-30s.
(stern) Go home, there's nothing that urgent right now, and the whole team needs to be well rested for this operation to work.
Yes, sir. I understand. I will make sure they remember.
Possibly a Russian operative... the only person with direct communication with the president. He's in his late 30s, early 40s. He's strict and will not allow anyone to mess up his operation.
Actually the fewer people that are involved in this the better, so why don't you tell me a good time? I'm sure you're not too awfully busy, seeing as this is only your first day in office.
(stern) We cannot afford to have slip ups, you know what to do if they can't do their jobs. We have lots of young talent that would love these jobs.
John is a family man, but he finds it difficult to reach his younger daughter, and they fight most of the time over their political values and beliefs. He's in his early 50s.
(dismissive) Yeah, she can walk to school, she does most days anyway.
(frustrated) Don't lecture me. You have no idea how sad it makes me, or how much it hurts me to know that she has strayed from our values and beliefs. I am trying my hardest, but she is no longer reachable.
Brea is stubborn, she's 17 years old, and stands firm in her beliefs and values even though they contradict the rest of her family.
(frustrated) I just don't understand why dad cares more about her than he does about me! He gives her everything, and I'm left to get some old hand me downs whenever she's done with them?
(defiant) You can't stop me. Let me out of the car. Now!
He's a pawn, he's very laid back, and is easily manipulated. He's 65 years old.
(serious, official) I swear to you that I will maintain safety for the masses, and uphold the high standards that you have come to expect from a president. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity, and privelege, to serve and lead this country.
(curious) Okay, so then what do I do? It seems like there's nothing for me so far.
She takes her job very seriously, she's 22 years old, and she's the secretary tot he president.
You know it's uncommon for a president to have a secret meeting his first day in office. It may raise suspicion if this becomes a regular occurrence.
John’s wife, she almost always takes Brea’s side because she believe in letting Brea think for herself. She’s just a minor character, but she’ll show up in most episodes.
Don’t give up on her, you knows she’s impressionable, she’s a high schooler, she’s around so many people who will influence her until she realizes and comes back to us.
Chloe is transgender, she’s 18, John’s older daughter, she’s snobby toward Brea, but somewhat nice toward everyone else. She’s also not a very major character, but she’ll appear in most episodes.
Hey, if you’re that anxious about getting to work, why don’t you go ahead of us? I’m just going to school, I don’t care if I’m late.
He’s African American, and Brea’s best friend, the reason she can stand firm in her actions and beliefs. He is a supporting character and will appear in nearly every episode.
(Sympathetic) I’m sorry, you know, if you ever need a place to stay we have a spare room at my house. Just to get away from the negativity.
(Jokingly) Good luck, I have to go talk to a teacher before the bell rings. See you at lunch.
