One Hundred Hands

One Hundred Hands

Project Overview

WARNING: ONH might contain themes that may be considered "dark" by players. No explicit content is shown, only mentioned or described.

"We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form."

— William Ralph Inge, The Idea of Progress, 1920

BACKGROUND

The year is 2005. The war in Iraq rages on, a relentless machine chewing through headlines, resources, and lives. Casualties spiral. Aid for the Marines, and for the soul of the nation, is desperately needed. A government-backed "scientific corporation of the future" ARKTOS steps forward, offering a revolutionary solution: Project PERICULUM.

The program's stated goal is to identify and cultivate a new tier of operative through a series of advanced, simulations called "Mandates." Volunteers will have their endurance, morality, and survival instincts tested to forge the ultimate soldier.

DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Noirgami's first original and most ambitious project yet. One Hundred Hands is a horror co-op game inspired by The Outlast Trials set in an alternate version of history. Step into the shoes of a "Candidate" inside "The Maw" facility below Camp Peary, and face the truth of our history with strangers, enemies, or friends.

We want your help in bringing our beautifully tragic, mysterious, twisted world to life! More rounds will be made as more "Mandates" are in development.

Soviet espionage operations continued during the Cold War. The Venona project, declassified in 1995 by the Moynihan Commission, contained extensive evidence of the activities of Soviet spy networks in America.

Chekist - this person was a spy who worked for or at least associated themselves with the soviets during the Iron Tide War. After their unit was ambushed, they were captured and handed over to ARKTOS for "therapy." What survives of them now is a fractured mind and a speech pattern that blends Russian with English.

The fennec fox (Vulpes zerda) is a small fox native to the deserts of North Africa, ranging from Western Sahara and Mauritania to the Sinai Peninsula. Its most distinctive feature is its unusually large ears, which serve to dissipate heat and listen for underground prey.

Originally known as Sergeant Lucille DeWitt, a decorated communications operative dishonorably discharged under charges of “psychosexual misconduct” during the early Iron Tide conflict. Songbird is an anthropomorphic fennec fox Zypher wearing Iron Tide War era equipment, her radiopack helping find Candidates who are making noises - at the cost of being more visible.

Ruby’s death was initially blamed on illness. The truth was buried. But ARKTOS took notice. A boy with a myth for a surname and a taste for blood. A boy whose existence could be weaponize.

Elias was born to a woman whose name never entered the public record. She worked at a diner near Love Field Airport and reportedly knew Lee Harvey Oswald during his early return from the Soviet Union. Under the guise of a "war photographer," in 1976, Elias had created a series of underground films that were said to contain "even most of the sickening things." One copy of a tape known as "Yip Yap" surfaced in a London rental shop, igniting the Video Nasties controversy of the 1980s.
