"One Giant Leap..."

Project Overview

Do you have a passion for storytelling? Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your skills, collaborate on a meaningful project, and be part of something that can make a real impact?

I’m inviting you to join me on an inspiring journey to bring to life an emotionally charged, coming-of-age story, a project that’s not just about animation, editing, or voice acting but about telling stories that matter.

About the Project: I, like many of you, have a wealth of artistic expressions and talents that I want to showcase but have struggled to find opportunities. If you feel the same way, this project is designed for you. My goal is to demonstrate my skills in writing, character development, dialogue, and story arcs, and I need proof of my work to enhance my chances of landing future opportunities. Instead of waiting for a chance to come my way, I am choosing to create my own opportunity.

If you are a voice actor, animator, or involved in any other role within this industry and are eager to be part of a project that you can add to your portfolio, then you are exactly the person I am looking for. I want to collaborate with individuals who are passionate but haven’t yet had the chance to showcase their skills. You don’t have to be “good”—you just need to be willing to work on your craft as we collaborate.

We should all come away from this project with valuable experience. This is our chance to help each other get started on a journey I know I can deliver.

I have been writing my entire life and have notebooks filled with countless poems and stories that I have never fully realized. They have always remained in my notebooks—this project represents one of those stories and my effort to put it all out there.

Title: “One Giant Leap…” by the_recluse

This project is a deeply personal and emotional story about Ava, a 12-year-old girl trying to find her place in the world after the death of her father. As she navigates a new school and faces the challenges of growing up, she grapples with complex issues of grief, identity, and self-worth. Along the way, we also explore the lives of those around her: her peers, teachers, and family members, each silently battling their own struggles.

This is not just another coming-of-age tale; it is a rich and emotional narrative about human struggle, growth, and connection. It addresses topics that people often avoid discussing, such as hidden battles with anxiety, grief, insecurity, and trauma. This story reflects the raw, real experiences that many of us endure but rarely see represented in animation and voice acting, and through the scope of a pre-teenage girl dealing with so much internal conflict while simultaneously trying to find her way in the modern world.

Why Join This Project?

·        Opportunity for All: Whether you're an experienced voice actor, editor, animator, or just starting out, this project is about giving everyone a chance. We understand how hard it is to break into the industry, and this is an opportunity for all voices and talents to shine, regardless of experience level.

·        A Chance to Showcase Your Talent: This project will allow you to bring your unique voice and style to life, whether you’re voicing a character or creating stunning animations. It’s a chance to showcase your abilities in an environment that values passion and dedication over experience.

·        Meaningful Storytelling: Be part of a project that’s much bigger than just animation or acting. This is about creating something that will resonate deeply with people—a story that could change the way we view mental health, personal struggles, and the journey of self-discovery.

·        Collaborative Growth: You’ll be working alongside a passionate team of creatives, all coming together to craft something extraordinary. Your input will be valued as we all learn, grow, and create this series together. The opportunity to experiment with your craft in a supportive environment is invaluable.

·        A Project with Purpose: The ultimate goal of this project is to tell a story that impacts. Not just for entertainment, but for healing, understanding, and creating dialogue about important topics. This is a chance to be part of a project that ‘nobody sees coming’ in the world of storytelling—a story that will surprise, challenge, and inspire.

What We’re Looking For:

Voice Actors: We’re looking for talented voices to bring our diverse cast of characters to life. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, if you have the passion and commitment to create something special, we want you to join us.

Editors: We need your skills to help bring everything together! This story features emotional highs and lows, and we want people who want to tackle the challenges of weaving voice acting, animation, and sound into a seamless narrative that captivates our audience.

Volunteer Consultant/Guest/Supporting Role: If this project resonates with you and you’re looking for a way to contribute, please audition or apply for an available role and specify that you wish to volunteer. Indicate which role you feel you could best assist within the text box upon submission. Your contribution is equally valuable and will be recognized in this project. We are also open to creating small dialogue for background characters.

The Takeaway:

This project is a labor of love and a journey of artistic expression. It’s about creating something bigger than the sum of its parts—a heartfelt, emotionally rich story that will leave a lasting impression on everyone who experiences it. And we want YOU to be a part of it.

Together, we can craft a story that not only showcases our talents but makes a difference. Join us and help create something that truly matters.

Let’s make something special. Let’s create art that speaks to the soul.

If we can pull this off – I will create another project with the same ambition in mind – I have so many stories I want to tell, and if this is the place I can do it…then we are about to have a lot of fun…

  • Last Call for Auditions!!!

This is the formal "Last Call" for Auditions - Auditions will close in 48 hours (1800, Central Time Zone, USA)

Only submissions for the specific roles will be considered when making selections - You are welcome to submit for more than 1 role, however, with the diverse range of talent that has already shown interest, it is to be expected to have ONE role in this project (as a Voice Artist). This is so we can maximize the amount of people to bring on board with this project - thus giving this project it's most potential.

So - you are only going to be considered for the role(s) you auditioned for. If you would like consideration for other roles, it would behoove you to put in an audition for those additional roles.

Saturday - 15Mar2025 (I know, 'beware the Ides of March' right?) - 0600, Central Time Zone, USA - We will begin the official process in determining who will be chosen for which roles.

We will contact you, with the message having the specific words "You Have Been Selected" in the title if you are formally selected for the role

Please be able to respond to that message (should you get it) so we can 'take the next step' in bringing this project to life. We will reach out through CCC and/or Discord (if you provided one).

If you are not selected - you will have the opportunity (should you wish to accept) to provide voice work for 'extras' in the story ('background chatter' to help, bring the environment to life). Yes, you will be credited for your work (as an 'Extra')

In closing - again, thank you all for all that you have already contributed to this project. If I could, everyone would have a leading role... but we know that isn't how 'it works' - so, regardless of what decisions may occur - understand that in absolutely NO WAY is any decision 'personal' nor a discredit upon You and Your work/talent/skill.

I, wholeheartedly, wish to keep the 'bridge from being burnt' and to have a strong line of communication with all that have auditioned - who knows what the future holds - and if this project is able to come to life the way I envision it, I have so many more projects ready to start (you think that little adage about my notebook being filled with poems and stories was just 'fluff' to 'sound artsy'...? hah...) - so future opportunities can definitely occur.

Have a wonderful day - and I look forward to talking with you soon. I can't express how excited I am that we are about to take this one small step in bringing this to life in just 48 hours...

My inbox is always open - and you all know how to contact me - Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

    Very Respectfully,

    -the_recluse

  • Final Week for Auditions + Project Update

This, in such a short amount of time, has already been an amazing experience - It couldn't have shaped into what it is now developing into without the input and help from all of you. Whether it was through auditioning for a role, providing feedback, giving me 'tips' on how to navigate this industry - it has all been felt in my heart. Genuinely - thank you. To even see 1, let alone the total number we have now, person make the choice to want to join something that is so precious to me (my first, not holding back, full attempt of artistic expression) that I can't even tell you all how much it means.

'This project' isn't like anything I have ever done before, but I trust myself and I know I will figure it out (I have created and finished plenty of 'projects' in my life, none of them involving anything with this industry)

However, I will always desire for continual input/help from all of you.

Now - Updates About the Project - Deadline for auditions will be honored, if you are reading this and have not auditioned (and would like to) - Then you are welcome to do so IF the deadline has not passed. We are not extending the deadline - this project isn't about 'perfection' - it is about coming together and creating a piece of art we can all be proud of and use to earn more opportunities in this industry. So, when the deadline passes - whomever is in the pool for the roles will be the only people considered for those roles. If you are one of those people in a 'pool' - Please be able to respond to a message from me this weekend if you are selected so we can have all selections posted on Monday.

Friday, I have a personal obligation that will keep me way from the computer - I will have the selections made by Sunday, and they will be posted on Monday. If you are selected - you will get a message from me first so we can just chat about 'are you fully in?' - There is absolutely no ill feeling if your answer (in that moment) is "no" - being able to share the truth with each other is how we help each other make the best decisions we can. It is a sign of respect, and I will interpret it as such.

Music Update - This is quite a radical change, and a major acquisition to the project. Stale Mind (nu-metal band from Beaumont, TX) has agreed to do the music for the story. They are currently recording a new album and the idea, right now, is that they will make 2 songs for the story and also provide various instrumental tones for various scenes. They will make 1 song, at a minimum, and various instrumental sounds to be used throughout the story - that has been agreed upon. What I am TRYING to do is select a singer from those that want the role, and figure out a way to have Stale Mind create a completely different song than they've done before - almost like an 'Evanescence' sound (because they are...well...metal). I'd love to add a piano and violin for a haunting melody that can turn epic, especially when you add their guitars, drums, and vocals behind it

I don't believe I need to elaborate on the point that since we have an actual, professional band (that is currently recording a new album) that if we can't find a singer to 'match this level' - then I can't, in good faith, present this idea to them. I hope you all understand that this is not any indicator of your talent, nor it's potential...it is more of a 'refined skill' level thing that is very unfair for me to ask upon someone to do for free (I am aware of this...) So, unfortunately, the demands of this role have shifted and have to more align with 'the band', more than 'the project' (the sound will not compromise the tone of the story)

If you are asking "how did you get a band to agree to do this for free?" - Answer: My brother is the lead singer. Is it nepotism? Is it against the spirit of this project? Unintentionally, yes - And it eats at me, but also, I am aware of how much this can benefit the project. If this decision has 'soured' your feelings towards working on this project - I understand, and I apologize.

Animation Update - We have put together our initial 'concept art' - I am still trying to secure XanMof (comic artist) for more 'hands-on' animation, however we are making progress. The overall aesthetic is going to be 'noir-esque' with strong contrasting tones from black and white, and using color only as an accent.

I would like to state this (because I would like everyone to feel comfortable working on this project) Do not look into the concept character art as 'something more than what it is' - it isn't. We are 100% comfortable, and prepared, to alter physical aspects of the character to align with the Voice Artist's own identity. (So we are clear - I'm meaning if you would feel more comfortable, we will have no problem/hesitation in changing the skin tone of your character if that is what you would prefer (since you will be bringing them to life).

It genuinely isn't a concern, nor a thought - If you've read the script, then you are already aware what this story is/isn't about - and if you haven't read the script, trust me when I say that this story is going for the topics that transcend beyond borders - we are going for the soul, and that is formless and shapeless.

We simply just wanted to put evidence of our work out there to 'show progress' from our end. That is why the characters 'look the way they do' - Nothing more.

Working Schedule - What we are going to do for "One Giant Leap..." is before we 'give the green light' for you to start recording, I want to do 1 'read through' with everyone. This will be to accomplish a couple things - The most significant is so you can 'get a feel' of how the characters (in the story) will 'bounce their dialogue' with one another. There is a natural 'fluidity' when you are talking 'with' someone rather than talking 'at' - Even if the best we can do is simply have characters that are in scenes together (because not every character is in every scene) do 1 read through together (of their scene), that will suffice. AT A MINIMUM you will read through your scenes with me (and I'll be the other character bouncing lines to you) before given the 'green light' to record.

The second goal I wish to accomplish by having this 'read through' is so everyone can (at a basic level) 'meet' the other artists on this project. If our goal is to collaborate to create powerful stories, prove our skill and grow in this industry - then we accomplish this by a unified team effort. Yes, I wrote the story - but you are the ones bringing these characters to life. It is 'your story' as well. As we 'go our ways' once we are finished working together, we can still be 'connected' with each other - and who knows how much that can benefit going forward?

Once you have the 'green light' - then it is all on you. There will be a lot of moving parts happening at the same time to complete the project, so do not expect a 'sudden timeline' to finish your lines. The most important thing on this is that we communicate fully with each other. We are all human, and life happens - if we can communicate when things 'aren't going to plan' then we can work together and find a solution. If you are selected to be a part of this project, you're joining us with all your flaws as well. It is expected that 'bumps in the road' are going to occur - just keep the line of communication open so we can work together to find a solution.

Credit/Promotion/Compensation Update - If you are selected for a role and accept the invitation to join - we will discuss the plans in place for this. If everything goes right - you will earn money from this project. As of right now, me typing this, there is still zero money to be paid for any work on this project. I do not believe that will be true in the future - but I cannot predict the future, only look at how things are 'trending' As of right now - the compensation status has not changed from 'Unpaid' It would be more accurate to say 'Unpaid, but...' - however that isn't a real thing I can use to post next to the role for auditioning (and I don't want to mislead anyone, I want to be honest and upfront so you are fully aware)

    In Closing...

This is going to sound like the ugliest, shameless, self-promotion - and it isn't intended to be, but I do recognize that, by default, it 'is' - I do not exist online, you won't find pictures of me or social media profiles (that is intentional) - However, 3 years ago, I did start a Twitch stream - if you catch me live (there is no schedule, I go live in random hours), that could be a great opportunity to ask me questions in real-time *and also have a bit of fun, maybe you get to know me a little bit more (if my 'million-word messages' haven't painted a picture yet)? My Twitch name is, quite literally, "the_recluse" - that's where you can find me. (I'm honestly juggling the idea of announcing the selections live on stream, but that is just a fleeting thought - don't put too much merit into that, yet)

I am also on Discord (there is an icon on my CCC profile you can click - some of you already have reached out to me via Discord).

Other than those 2 places and here, I don't exist - however I do have notification on, and this is such an exciting endeavor for me that I promise you I will not miss your message if you need me.

I hope these updates were helpful and also gave you a bit of added hope towards bringing this story to life. I can't wait to work with you on this project, and even if you aren't selected for a role - you can still help and there are plenty of background voices we could use! (a huge chuck of the story does take place in a school, after all...) Just something to consider - Have a wonderful week - I can't thank you all enough.

    Very Respectfully,

    -the_recluse

Ava (Lead)

Role assigned to: Sofia Tarvalo

Ava is the protagonist of the story, a 12-year-old girl who has just moved to a new town and started a new school following the death of her father, a military veteran. Ava is in the midst of navigating the tough and often confusing journey of adolescence, dealing with grief, inner turmoil, and finding her sense of identity in a world that feels uncertain.

She is an emotionally complex character, struggling with feelings of loss, guilt, and self-doubt. Though she presents a quiet and introspective front, Ava is learning to find her voice and realize her own inner strength that slowly emerges over the course of the story.

Ava is introspective, quiet, and deeply emotional, often processing her feelings inwardly rather than outwardly. She is someone who feels deeply but is often afraid to express those feelings to others for fear of being judged or misunderstood. She’s independent by necessity, learning to navigate her world without her father’s guidance. Despite the emotional weight she carries, Ava has an innate kindness, a desire to help others. Her journey is one of self-discovery, where she slowly learns to embrace the person she’s becoming and to trust in her own resilience.

Ava’s father died overseas while serving in the military, and it’s the emotional cornerstone of her struggles. As each day passes, her memories of him fade a bit further of him and she feels an aching loss that she doesn’t know how to handle. She moves with her mother to a new town after his funeral, starting at a new school where she feels out of place and disconnected. Over the course of the story, Ava learns to confront her grief, recognize her inner strength, and build new connections with others who understand the silent struggles that so many face.

I am intentionally writing this character to experience a very emotional journey, and there will be lines that will test your range - Please only apply for Ava if you are willing to be tested.  You don't have to be experienced - Just willing to do the work and 'put yourself out there' - The story revolves around Ava.

Role assigned to: Skylar Rose

Christine Walker is a strong, yet deeply grieving mother, who recently lost her husband (Ava’s father) in a tragic overseas deployment. His death is still fresh, and the emotional weight of it affects every part of her life. To cope with the loss and to give Ava a "fresh start," Christine moved them both to a new town after the funeral, but the weight of their past still lingers. She faces the complex task of balancing motherhood while wrestling with her grief, all while trying to rebuild her life. She is a hardworking woman who is doing her best to provide for Ava, but she is stuck in a cycle of uncertainty. Despite her efforts, she struggles to find a stable, well-paying job that aligns with her skills, often resorting to gig work to pay the bills. This leaves her emotionally drained and physically absent from Ava at times, which causes her guilt. The pressure of financial instability and constantly juggling work and life creates a barrier between her and Ava, despite her deep love for her daughter.

On top of everything, Christine feels the heavy weight of societal expectations regarding grief. When a man approaches her, offering a chance at love, she finds herself torn. She cannot even entertain the thought of moving on so soon after losing her husband, but deep inside, there is a longing for companionship. She battles with an internal struggle she is ashamed to properly face, but stays in the back of her mind..."How long is too long to grieve? When can I move on?"  She tries to suppress this internal conflict, but the building guilt surfaces throughout her emotional journey.

Christine’s relationship with Ava is built on moments of profound wisdom, but her advice often comes with a weary tone, as though it’s been learned through hardship. While she offers guidance with the best intentions, her advice is shaped by the exhaustion and resilience of a woman who has had to give up her own personal desires for the sake of her family. Her love for Ava is undeniable, but Christine’s own needs and happiness have taken a backseat a long, long time ago...

Lena (Ava's Supportive Friend)
closed
Unpaid
Role assigned to: Angelica Jade

Lena is a quiet and introspective 12-year-old girl who stands apart from the typical "popular" crowd. She has a quiet, artistic soul and often finds comfort in drawing, writing, or other creative outlets. Lena is someone who doesn’t immediately fit into any of the school’s cliques. She’s not the outgoing, bubbly type (like Kylie) nor is she the shy, withdrawn kid. Instead, she’s content in her own space, observing the world around her and picking up on details that others might overlook.

While she’s somewhat of a loner, Lena is incredibly empathetic and perceptive. She has a unique ability to see through the surface of people and situations, often understanding things others might not. This makes her a great friend for Ava, who is struggling to fit in and navigate the complexities of middle school. Lena doesn’t feel the need to be the center of attention, and she’s drawn to Ava’s quiet strength and ability to push through adversity.

Lena’s home life is also somewhat complicated. She comes from a family that doesn’t always understand her introverted nature, which sometimes leads to her feeling isolated. Her parents encourage her to be more social, but Lena struggles to reconcile her desires with their expectations. She finds solace in her art and in her relationship with Ava, who doesn’t pressure her to be anyone but herself.

Throughout the story, Lena helps Ava realize that it’s okay to be different and that true friendship isn’t about fitting into a mold. Lena herself is also on a journey of self-acceptance—learning to embrace who she is, not based on others' expectations but on her own values. Their friendship will be one of mutual respect, where they learn from each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

  • (Encouraging, Empowering) "You’ve got this. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep going, even when it feels like everything’s falling apart. Trust me... things get better, they always do. And you don’t have to do it alone."

Role assigned to: CalliePooky

Kylie is a popular, confident girl at Ava's new school who initially appears friendly and supportive but soon becomes a source of tension and rivalry as Ava gains confidence. On the surface, Kylie seems perfect (fashionable, outgoing, and a natural leader). She is well-liked by her peers and thrives on being the center of attention. However, Kylie harbors a deep insecurity beneath her polished exterior. She fears being overshadowed or replaced, especially when Ava’s confidence starts to grow and attract attention. This jealousy causes Kylie to engage in passive-aggressive behavior, subtly undermining Ava in an attempt to protect her own fragile social standing.

While Kylie may seem tough and in control, her internal struggles with insecurity and jealousy drive much of her actions. Her journey throughout the story arc involves coming to terms with these fears and realizing that her behavior has been rooted in her own vulnerabilities. By the end of the story, Kylie will confront her jealousy and begin to respect Ava for her individual strength, learning to embrace her own uniqueness without the need to constantly compete with others.

She struggles with self-acceptance, particularly regarding her own personal life. Divorced and feeling that she might never find love again, Mrs. O'Connor questions whether she's still relevant or worthy of companionship. She hides her insecurities behind her strong persona, focusing instead on the well-being of her students. However, she wrestles with moments of doubt, wondering if she’s making a real difference in their lives or if she’s just another "tough coach" they’ll forget about when they leave school. Mr. Green (Ava's Teacher/War Veteran)

Role assigned to: Lumis00

Mr. Green is a military veteran who now teaches with the same discipline and grit that he learned in the service. He is tough, direct, and doesn't have time for excuses, especially when it comes to his students. Ava initially views him as harsh and overly critical, and she’s uncomfortable around him because of his military background. (The fact that he’s a veteran triggers painful memories for Ava, who lost her own father in the Navy.)

On the surface, Mr. Green appears unshakable. He keeps his emotions and personal life tightly guarded, but beneath his strict exterior lies a man haunted by the scars of war. Mr. Green lost close friends in combat, and those losses weigh heavily on him. While he refuses to openly acknowledge the depth of his pain, it impacts his teaching and interactions, especially with Ava.

Mr. Green struggles with PTSD, but he doesn’t share this with anyone. He uses his military training to push through the darkness, holding his demons at bay. However, his pride and sense of duty prevent him from seeking help, and he contemplates suicide privately, believing that no one could understand his struggles.

Despite his inner demons, Mr. Green’s commitment to teaching and his desire to push his students beyond their limits are unwavering. He sees potential in Ava and pushes her hard, not realizing how much she’s internalizing her struggles, especially with her father’s death. He’s the kind of teacher who’s tough on the outside but deeply protective in his own way.

  • (Firm, but with an underlying emotion - hinting at something deeper without fully revealing it)"You think I don’t understand? You don’t get to shut down just because things are hard. I’ve seen things that’ll never leave me. But you don’t get to quit—no matter what. You owe it to yourself to keep going."

Ethan has lived with the aftermath of his parents' divorce since he was two, so it’s all he knows. He has two large families, which he juggles as best as he can, but the experience has left him feeling somewhat detached and isolated from both worlds. On the surface, he is friendly, charismatic, and the type of kid who can easily make friends by cracking jokes and staying upbeat. His sense of humor is his defense mechanism, always using sarcasm to keep people at a distance so they don't see how much he is struggling on the inside.

While Ethan presents himself as carefree and full of energy, he’s secretly falling into the grip of drug use. This has been a way for him to cope with the emotional neglect and confusion that comes with growing up between two families, as well as the pressures of school, social life, and trying to live up to expectations that are placed on him. No one knows about his secret addiction, he’s very good at hiding it, slipping away to use when he feels overwhelmed or when the tension from his divided family becomes too much.

Ethan’s vulnerability and internal struggle are kept hidden beneath his outward demeanor. He may make everyone around him laugh, but deep down, he’s afraid of being alone, of not fitting in anywhere, and of being trapped by the cycle of his life. As he interacts with Ava, their friendship begins to show him a different way of coping with problems, even if it takes him some time to realize it. Despite his issues, Ethan doesn’t push Ava away—he’s there for her when she needs someone to talk to, even if he’s unable to fully be open about his own struggles. Over the course of the arc, Ava begins to notice subtle signs of his struggle, though she doesn’t yet understand the full extent.

  • (Casual, teasing, with a layer of sarcasm)"Okay, okay, I see you trying to be all serious. Don’t you know that’s gonna get you way too much attention? Next thing you know, you’ll be wearing a sign that says ‘Ask me about my feelings.’"

  • (Vulnerable, hinting at his struggles without fully opening up) "You ever feel like you’re just... bouncing between two worlds and never really belong anywhere? Yeah, that’s my life every single day. But hey, I’m sure my parents are totally thrilled about me being their ‘shared responsibility’."

  • (Sarcastic, hiding his inner turmoil) "Yeah, sure, let’s make this day even more exciting. I’ve got plenty of other things I could be doing, but who needs those when I’ve got this delightful conversation to look forward to?"

Singer for Original Soundtrack - Intro & Outro Songs

Are you a talented vocalist with a passion for storytelling through music? Have you been looking for an opportunity to create something ‘unique’ that can showcase your skills?

We’re looking for a singer who is willing to attempt to embody the emotional depth and raw vulnerability of a gripping, character-driven story. This is an opportunity to showcase your vocal range and intensity in an original soundtrack for a powerful upcoming project.

The role will involve recording two original songs: one for the opening credits and one for the finale/closing credits. Each song is a critical part of the project, setting the emotional tone and leaving a lasting impression on the audience.  You will have the spotlight in these moments to show the world what you got.

What we’re looking for:

A passion for storytelling and the ability to convey emotion through song.

An expressive voice to deliver both soft, intimate moments and powerful, soaring choruses. (Stay in your range, but testing your range)

Comfortable attempting moving between a deep, emotional whisper and a powerful, resonant belt.  *These are the extremes – This isn’t a Hollywood production – Sing within your range but try to embody the singer we are looking for.

Commitment to delivering a quality performance that aligns with the vision of the project.

*My inspiration is James Bond opening credit song/scene – I am going to put “my version” of that model into this project.   So, with James Bond as my inspiration – Adele “Skyfall” is the song I’d recommend aligning with. (No, we’re not saying “Be Adele” – that is ridiculous.  Your version of how you embody Adele in a James Bond opening credit song)

The lyrics will reflect the journey of the main character, Ava, as she navigates themes of loss, inner conflict, and healing. The opening song will build tension and introduce the story’s heavy emotional weight, while the outro song will reflect the lessons learned and offer a sense of closure.

How to Audition

Please submit a recording of yourself performing the following two sections to showcase both the softer, vulnerable side of your voice and your ability to belt with power and intensity.

Full Disclosure – I write poetry, so if these lyrics don’t “flow” with you while you are singing – Please, express your creative freedom to adjust the lyrics *if needed* for you to showcase what we are honestly listening for in your audition sample.  That being said – We do not care if you stumble over words – It’s the willingness to ‘put yourself out there’ to embody this ‘type’ of singer for this role.

We’re looking for a singer who can evoke emotion with both a soft, intimate tone and a powerful, uplifting sound when the moment calls for it.

Note: If you only want to do one of the credits scene – please specify “Intro” or “Outro”

I appreciate your time in reading this posting – I hope this interests you and we can begin collaborating on something that has serious potential to be special.

Very Respectfully,

-the_recluse

  • Soft, Slow, Deep "And in the silence, we start to break. The quiet echoes, of the choices we make. A heart that trembles, a soul that hides. All the secrets, we carry inside."

  • Powerful, Soaring "We’ve been lost, we’ve been found. Oh the silence, that terrible sound. Together we stand, in the light we’ve made, We’ll be whole, no longer afraid."

We’re seeking passionate editors to contribute to an incredibly special and emotionally impactful animated story about Ava, a 12-year-old girl navigating the struggles of adolescence, loss, and finding her place in the world. This project is an opportunity to showcase your editing skills, work with talented voice actors and animators, and help bring a deeply personal and meaningful story to life.

"One Giant Leap..." will be a 3-episode story arc that follows Ava as she deals with the loss of her father, her inner turmoil, and the emotional journey of finding strength in the face of hardship. It’s a coming-of-age narrative that explores themes of grief, friendship, family, mental health, and the often-silent struggles of growing up.

This is a project designed to give opportunities to editors—whether you’re just starting out or already experienced—who want to expand their portfolio, gain hands-on experience, and be part of something that is truly meaningful and impactful while having a 'safe project' to experiment and expand upon your skills you are wanting to develop.
