Project Overview

What is This?

This is an ORIGINAL Dub of the beloved WEBTOON DAYBREAK. This particular project is a slice-of-life sequel to the comic "Sunshine Boy" created by the same beloved author Moosopp! I'd like to take a moment to thank Moosopp for permitting us to dub this WEBTOON!

Now, if you're unfamiliar with the comic series it's framed around Marcus who has a crush, and Cog is completely unprepared for the hijinks that follow. Hopefully, in their efforts to grow closer, they can brighten each other's day. This series is a very diverse LGBTQ+ WEBTOON comic that we at the studio hold very close to our hearts! Don't be afraid to audition and give us your absolute best! We'd love to have you on board.

Requirements

  • Ensure your annunciation is on point so we can understand what you're saying.

  • We'll be using the .mp3 or .wav format.

  • Do at least 2 takes per line when auditioning. 

  • Please only audition if you are going to be active and committed. We strive to communicate with our cast and build a fun environment. 

  • Please include your Discord and or other contact information.

  • You must be okay with doing Live Recordings and sessions when needed!

  • Make sure to use a good microphone when auditioning! We want to make this as professional as possible. (No background noise, no buzzing, and no clipping/peaking)

Final Notes

  • Please don't read what's between the parenthesis or the character info. Those are simply there to provide context and give you an idea about the character and what emotion they're trying to convey.

  • Discord is required as we utilize it to organize group rehearsals and deliver announcements, and or updates (it's also been a handy tool for getting to know the people affiliated with the project and we've had a fair bit of fun with it).

  • PLEASE DO NOT SLATE YOUR AUDITIONS

  • You may be asked to audition for additional roles if your voice has range and emotion.

  • New roles will be added whenever we meet a new significant character! So make sure to keep yourself posted with this casting call!

Percy is a supporting character in DAYBREAK who exhibits traits of brattiness and short temperance, which often overshadow his underlying insecurity. Despite his outward demeanor, Percy possesses a compassionate side, demonstrating genuine concern for the well-being of his friends. He harbors a strong aversion to condescension and values respect in all interactions. Additionally, Percy holds a particular affinity towards small animals, particularly birds, finding comfort in their presence.
*We'd like for the voice actor of Percy to have a native indigenous background.

Ms. Sen is a supporting character in DAYBREAK who leads the drama club and theater classes. Though she may seem intimidating at first, students often find her to be their favorite teacher after getting to know her. She's strict, honest, and always fair, making sure every student is treated equally. Ms. Sen dislikes when teachers show favoritism. Outside of work, she enjoys writing, practicing yoga, watching foreign films, and painting.
