Project Overview
Runiverse is a world corrupted by abusive leaders and everyone trying to get a firm grasp on their own life associated to a cult one way or another. Runism is a cult/belief based on in a small town that's dedicated to its beaches and praises all things they deem beautiful. There are 4 main characters, 3 of which are in the cult and an outsider who happened to wash ashore one day and start a new life after running away from his abusive scientist of a mother.
Meeting the cult, introduces him to bigger problems such as the return of his parent, a guardian angel that was believed into existence with a strange obsession over an eccentric boy in the cult... Who happens to be setting a plan to burn the entire place down. He meets a girl who teaches him the beauty of grief, and becomes acquainted with a pathetic person drowning in his own desperation for religious validation and confusion of identity.

This is still in progression, but soon we hope to deliver this universe in the forms of a game, visual novel and more. As of now though, we can only count on our art and writing. So, I have planned an animatic which will involve scripts, and also audio performances.

[transfem, but uses he/him. mid-high range] Incredibly anxious and delusional. His delusions causes him to think grandiose ideas of himself but that’s easily shattered into intense insecurity when reminded he is not all high and mighty. He speaks like he’s unsure about everything he says, but is so sure in his facts about Runism, given the fact he has read the (revised) scripture time and time again. He spaces out a lot in dissociation and escapism, and he’s so sure in his ideas and delusions it makes him look a little crazy. Although he is transfem, the role is open to anyone of any range. Inspired by a borzoi dog. NOTE: Silas is one of the most challenging roles, as he is the ones who has the most breakdowns, and he sounds like he's going to cry every sentence haha

[Mid to high] Daughter of the cult leader, Silas and Neil's ex. She dreams of something bigger than the cult and wants to invent something in the future. Despite being showered in easy praises, Paige is the hardest worker in the story. This goal to be a hard worker becomes her demise, as when she feels trapped or the inability to do something strikes her, she easily falls into a depressive episode. She's incredibly determined, and although very cheerful, Paige will do anything it takes to achieve her goal. She can be incredibly scary in her conviction, but other times, she hides her struggles behind a smile and compares her struggles to her traumatised peers. Inspired by a little bird
-- Her voice should sound mid/high with a squeaky laugh. When excited, she is very fast-paced and squeals a lot.
-- In contrary, her irritation and serious dialogues are incredibly snappy, like a total 180 from her happy persona.

[Low - Mid male] Kaiser is full of grudges and is easy to annoy. He’s the type of person to bring up old fights just to get his point across. He is the most vengeful person in the entire story, his biggest goal is to burn down the entire cult and ruin its existence. He is stalked and constantly watched and forcefully married by/to the guardian angel of Runism, named Jura. He enjoys books and values knowledge as his dream is to write novels and have an autobiography about his life in the cult after he escapes it. The only person he feels completely safe around is Neil. Inspired by a calico cat.

[Any range male, really awkward, his speech should sound similar to that 'last night I dreamed I was a bottle of ketchup and you were mustard' meme.] He is a human, made from an experiment that first included a rabbit. Despite his casual persona, his past haunts him with cannibalistic tendencies and trauma from being invalidated constantly. An easy-going, laidback guy that can be quite blunt in his speech and opinions but in reality, overthinks his words and second-guesses himself often. Somewhat a people pleaser as he tries not to offend but still ends up doing so by being socially inept. He’s sensitive to the smell of blood and meat (eliciting cravings and urges), which is why he likes the sea, with its strong salty aroma that dominates the other scents. When these urges do act up however, he would bite on his hand to snap out of it/ease his cravings with his own blood. He's neurodivergent and doesn't understand tone. Paige's ex. Kaiser’s future bf. Inspired (and made out of) a rabbit.

[Any rangle, male, or idk just be as creepy as you can] Very naive, almost like a child. Despite his appearance, he doesn’t know much and reacts very subtly to big things, and very dramatically to small things. He’s very curious, although not a man of many words, it is somehow always easy to know what he is thinking. He chuckles and giggles often, showing off a mischievous side to him. If he does speak (isnt laughing), he would have a whispy voice, shakey and quiet - like a whisper. Think of Gabriel from the Mandela Catalogue but humanise it
He is horrifying. A guardian angel that lurks in the background. Solace's companion, Kaiser's husband (until he isn't). Quite a challenging role, I hope we can get some submissions for him. Bonus points if you sing an acoustic of a tiny bit of We'll meet again by The Ink Spots in a creepy, soft voice as a part of your audition. Please.

[all pronouns] A mad scientist, independently working on her own experiments. They are Neil's mother. Speaks and carries himself in an elegant and composed manner, with a subtle mocking or patronising tone. Cadence is controlled and unhurried. A tad bit narcissistic and full of himself thus priding themselves as being well-articulated and having a large vocabulary. Lowkey, a yapper. She dedicates her life to research and the search for god-like power and belittles those who she deems less than her. Having a sort of superiority complex as she can never be as powerful whilst being human (she is physically very weak - falling from a push, unable to lift things). Despite this she shares little of her personal life and anecdotes, maintaining an air of mystery as to refrain from disclosing possible weaknesses. Will not run from danger due to pride. Which leads her to freeze up in the face of real bodily danger. She has doting mannerisms and displays herself to be caring.

[They/them. Androgynous, gender non-conforming. Not to be confused as Silas or Solace] Saelus shares a couple important roles in the story. They can be a narrator as they are the one who first started Runism as a small tale of comfort; they can also be a fraction of Silas' mind, an alter in his OSDD that acts as a caregiver, a comforter, a voice of reason that gets ignored. They are caring and firm. In all roles, they are the most creative person, able to improvise tales and stories of comfort on the spot. A comforting presence that's wise when it comes to the bigger picture, but clueless of what to do in moments of danger.
Their voice is androgynous. Play around with the cadence and strength in their voice but remember that they started a whole legacy of a town.

Looking for poeple who can edit/animate special backgrounds for animation (animation trends/memes, animatics). I like to storyboard before proceeding with adding the visuals. But you will have some creative freedom.
