The Jorvik Diaries
Project Overview
The Jorvik Diaries follows the life of Willow Harte, who against all odds, chose to devote her life to rescuing animals on the small island of Jorvik. The only problem? Willow has no idea what she's doing. Other than some good experience working with animals and at another rescue, she is completely new to the unforgiving and exhausting world of seeing just how terrible some animals are treated.
This story begins when Willow finds old boxes that were supposedly left by the owners. Tax documents...pfft...boring. Diaries? Could be interesting. These diaries were filled with years of experiences, lessons, and what former rescue owner did to get to her goal of being a successful rescue. Willow now had a way in, a special foothold that most didn't, and by her side is a team of people who will hopefully begin a new hope in the rescue world.
Throughout this tale told, a lot of times in the voice of Holly Winthrop, this story will unfold into both madness but also sincerity of the life of saving animals and also saving those around you.
This project is still under development, scripts are still being written. This will be an ongoing process.
This story will be acted out on the game Star Stable, though concepts of doing this on Minecraft or another game is still being decided.
There are limited games with many animals added in.
his RRP series may introduce new voice actors, so please take not of the Uncast Roles if you want to be considered for future roles.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
- All voice actors must understand the role expectations. This can be accents, age range, and personality.
- When auditioning, all submissions must be on a clean & clear mic, no background noise or static.
- Please be aware that this is a continuing series, with a due date on each script. I understand nobody can be prepared for family emergencies, unexpected life events, or simply a moment of not wanting to work, but if you submit, you will be held responsible for getting your parts done on time.
- This role will not be compensated, but I hope if this project goes well, then i'll be able to pay some VA's someday! :)
- You must put your Discord tag (Example#4567) in the audition in case you're accepted. If you don't have discord, I recommend getting it.
This project is similar to a lot I have done, though it involves a plot and storyline I have never used before. I enjoy rescue topics, but this one will have a lot of sensitive topics / mental health mentioned that nobody has really gone near. I hope to break that barrier between IRL and RRP! :)

Indigo was the hired caretaker by the sellers. Though Indigo is in the dark about the past of the place, she still is in charge of everything caretaking and designing. Indigo's job revolves around phone calls, emails, general horse care, and 100% free advice that you probably won't use or need, but at least it's there...right?
Indigo's past will be played out throughout the series, but she has suffered severe childhood and young adult trauma relating to the passing of her younger sister. Like most, Indigo finds happiness and sincerity in helping others, because she couldn't help the one person she was asked to watch when she was younger. This mental health journey will be an important part of the series.

Indigo has the southern sweetness accent, so the audition will require a southern american accent. This can be from any origin, not just Texas etc. Indigo has a lot of emotional parts closer to the middle of the series, so I will need a VA that can really get involved with the character's feelings. This character has a sarcastic side to her, and she really does care a lot about her friends and animals, but she also has a lot of guilt from her past that she doesn't really need to be carrying around.

"(Slightly embarrassed) Wow…. Your horses have such interesting names. My horse’s name is Brownie…I feel severely outdone right now."
"I grew up in a nice home, in a nice town, went to a nice school, and lived a nice life. Everything was handed to me, even when I didn’t ask for it. I wasn’t ungrateful, but I knew what I wanted in life. Willow wasn’t the only one walking through those gates with guilt of the past. My past is fogged with all types of emotions, and there was never a way to get rid of those for good."
Pearl Whitman, daughter of Dave Whitman, has a serious business on her hands. Taking over after her late father had led so many different horses to victory, he also led a lot of their business to shame. Pearl not only took on the role of owner after her father passed, but she also wants to do better. After finding Willow, Pearl's task at hand is to offer her more troubled horses with no alternative to Willow in hopes of figuring out why they're acting up. Willow may not be able to help all of them, but she could give insight.
Pearl will have a character development within the theme of "the enemy of my enemy" throughout the storyline, and there will be some light backstory developing for her.

- Tone: Pearl is very formal, though she will be seen speaking a little less formal as the series continues
Pearl's accent and such are undecided, though I do expect her to sound posh/fancy. This character herself is caring yet a tad stuck up, she is still down to earth about her life and is honest in most cases. Whilst Pearl will be fair and honest, she will seem evil in a lot of situations further down the storyline.

"New Hope, that place sold? Congratulations! My family always loved going there for the holiday parties, they would dress the rescue ponies up and let the kids pet them, it was wonderful. Listen, this is so random, but our trainer is on medical leave for the next year and I am having trouble getting some of our newest purchases trained. They’re quite the handful. Would it be ok if I dropped one or two off a month? Nothing major, just behavioral. I want it done right, you know?"
"Thank you for getting back to me. If these rumors are true....and New Hope has those files, I will have to speak to Willow."
Lily Forte will be a slightly re-occurring character but may be in multiple episodes with bigger intervals. Mrs. Forte is a rescue worker on new turf, a missouri fox trotter mare who sadly is out of her control. She has no time or patience for her, so she reaches out to Willow in hopes of transferring her to another facility.
Not only does Lily have info regarding the past of the New Hope Rescue, but she also gives insight on who the former owner was, and shares details on why the journals are there. Lily is a big part of this story, and she will be returning for more episodes after Ep1/2.

Lily Forte (pronounced For-tay) is nothing short of sweet and caring. She is a well-known older rescue worker in the area, and takes care of her animals well. Not only does Lily have info dating back to before Willow was even born, but she also knows a lot about former New Hope Rescue owner, H. Lily is in her 60s/70s, so an older voice will be required, but I don't expect an old and croaky voice if someone can't meet those requirements.

"Well, Holly wanted this location to be given to her heir, her children, but Holly and her husband couldn’t have kids. They tried for years, and adopting just wasn’t an option with the workload and money issues here. She wanted to be a mom for the longest time. Before her passing, which was quite sudden, she tried her best to find someone worthy to buy the barn. It’s literally written in the bill of sale that the buyer has to meet the requirements."
"Mrs. Harte, dear, I don’t think you’re understanding me. Holly, she didn’t pick and choose the best, she chose who she knew would do the job well. It doesn’t matter if you’re not the best, what matters is you’re committing yourself to this job. Holly had problems throughout her entire life with health, relationships, money, gosh I lost count through the years, but Miss Holly Winthrop never let down the animals she rescued. You weren’t picked from a flock of best to worst, Holly chose you through faith that this place would be sold to the right buyer, and after speaking with you, I think it was a good choice. New Hope isn’t just a new hope for animals, sweetheart. "
Mr. Elm is a mystery himself. All Willow figures out is that Mr. Elm harassed H, the past owner, and now he is harassing her as well. Not only does she feel unsafe, but she also doesn't know who to go to. In a world of the unknown, Mr. Elm is the worst type of person to be lurking around horses. Nothing to lose, nobody to stop him, and so much to be said in his little letters he leaves at the property.

- Tone: Articulated and calculated, a very appropriate tone for a man with so much behind his threats
Mr. Elm finds joy in this fear he brings to people. I would expect him to sound close to Joe Goldberg from "You" with the knowledge of Dexter. It's that condescending tone of 'you will never find me, let's make this fun'. The classic borderline or possibly full on psychopathic route. Could be fun for an exploring male VA who is looking for a twist in character.

This evening, a heartbreaking story. Barn owner Willow Harte shares emotional news amongst the flames that stretched to the skies of Jorvik. The fire could be seen and heard for a mile, many citizens are mourning the loss of multiple prized and loved horses at her farm. Willow Harte claims she doesn’t know how this fire started. Thankfully, Ms. Harte was able to get most of her horses and animals out before the flames overtook her extensive property. The authorities were able to put the fire out fairly quickly, though they were not able to save the horses inside. While the problem is being investigated, we pay our respects to the lives lost in this incident. More details soon, my name is Bailey Kaine, and I am reporting for JKVS News.

Main Lead, she is the voice of the diaries that are spoken to Willow.
- Age Range: First part of the diaries is 20-40 and then lasts are 50-60. You can audition for both or just one.

- Tone: Genuine with a hint of warmth, Holly is there to teach whoever is reading the journal.
Mrs. Holly Winthrop has passed, but her voice still speaks to those who are left to care for her beloved farm. No, not a ghost (not that we know of at least), she has passed her knowledge on through her years of journals written to guide whoever took over the property. Going by H, this voice of mystery is soon identified, and Holly has not only chosen Willow but has gone through her own problems that Willow will have to face. Holly passed with so many unanswered questions, and Willow is there to answer them. This voice can range from 20 to 60.

" Every living thing has a past, whether they like it or not. Some are a cleaner slate than others, but that doesn’t make us different in the end. The scars, they’re there even when you can’t see them, and they are present in animals too. Horses, dogs, cats, basically any common animal you can think of and even uncommon like elephants and giraffes, they remember. Their brains can hold memory for even longer than we can. I rescued a horse from a barn that collapsed due to poor maintenance, and time is the only medicine for his gelding. He’s quiet, simple, doesn’t make a fuss, but that’s the thing, he needed to be pushed. It was painful, seeing him stressed, but after the storm, came the calm. The moment I worked with him and showed him I wasn’t here to hurt him but see through the scars, he then opened up. The scars that covered his body had healed, but just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. The invisible scars are always there, no matter if we acknowledge them or choose to ignore them, they do not heal, but animals can learn to trust their scars as a past and not live in fear. So, what I learned this week is that even when something looks like it has no hope, it’s just waiting for a grip on the mountain so it can just continue climbing, even if it lost some progress. I am learning to be that footing, for any animal that enters this property."
Fred is the very first owner to surrender a horse to New Hope Rescue. He is a loving father of his daughter, who sadly couldn't take care of Prince (named Princess), a large draft horse. This character will be present during this part only, and will not be returning unless the exploration of the "lost horse" that was sold besides Prince is located.

I’m afraid we’re going to have to give him up, he isn’t fit for our daughter and I wasn’t prepared for the training he’d take to be ready. (Guiltily) I know it’s a bad thing to do as an owner is to abandon your horse, right? But…if anything happened to my daughter, I don’t know what i’d do. Princess…Prince…he deserves a home with someone who can meet his every needs, especially a compatible rider.
We call him Prince, though. She was watching me fill out the paperwork (sighs) I had to put Princess or she’d get mad at me. You know how teen girls are, full of life....and opinions.
With all films come those roles that pop up during writing, and have me going
