Nevermore Fandub
Project Overview
"There is nothing definitive about life after death, except the involuntary enrollment at the mysterious Nevermore Academy. Now Lenore and Annabel Lee must begin their curriculum to recover the memories of their tragic demise. Between the Dean's macabre demeanor and the tell-tale dangers of Final Exams, both girls must learn to rely on one another and their newly acquired ghost forms, or Spectres, to not only graduate from the academy… but to earn a second chance at life."
Nevermore is an amazing comic over on webtoon, though unfortunately it doesn't have all its episodes dubbed, I'd like to change that!
This is the first round of casting, so there will be many more opportunities to come! As of now we'll be dubbing chapters 1 to 7 in one video as the first episode, so to speak.
As for lines, speaking them in an ABCABC or AABBCC format is preferable!
Keep the following in mind:
This is a long-term project and the comic is not a short one. Be prepared to commit to various chapters!
You cannot be under 13 to participate in this project.
You must have a decent sounding mic, this means that you should have the least amount of background noise you can achieve, no popping, and preferably no clipping.
Lastly, you must have discord as this will be our main form of organisation.

A small pause
Hello auditionees! Thank you so much for taking the time to audition for this project, casting will be put on pause for a bit as there is currently some controversies going around about the creators of Nevermore. I don't want to be associated with drama or any other negativity, thus, I am trying to figure out the best course of action.

Annabel Lee Whitlock is one of two main characters in the webtoon, albeit the most intriguing. From the very beginning, she has been using the other students as pawns in order to ensure that both her and Lenore have the chance of a new life. Annabel Lee is well known around the school for being the first student to manifest a spectre. She is the leader of her group (Basically the best and most gifted students at Nevermore.) Her personality can be cheeky and caring around Lenore, prim and proper with The Deans, and ruthless the next. However, she seems to not truly care about anyone other than Lenore, and can be extremely cold when it comes to helping people without getting any benefits from it.
Due to her aristocratic origins, her voice should be smooth, dainty and posh.

You must be able to speak or pronounce French.
Duke is a Nevermore student as well as Lenore's closest friend. He's generally a pretty laid-back person that likes to bend and ignore the rules. He also knows some magic tricks and is very skillful in lockpicking.
Duke has a very performative personality, likely due to the fact he used to be a performer. He has a habit of teasing his friends and taunting those on Annabel Lee's side. Despite his constant jabbing, he does care about his friends, seen by how he is a constant form of support for Lenore and even attempted to cheer up Morella by showing her a coin trick.
Despite his feelings towards his friends, and how he's often a very determined, self-assured, and confident person, he seems to not care for himself as much as he does others. When in Dreamland with Lenore, rather then attempting to fight for his life or come up with solutions to his problem, he accepts his fate surprisingly quickly.
I imagine his voice to be fun in sound with a flair of dramatics and a french accent.

Morella is a very friendly and welcoming student, and is Lenore's roommate.
Morella proves to be an incredibly kind and approachable person, who is very eager to start friendships with the other students of Nevermore. She is slightly dense, but it adds to her charm. She is shown to be very caring, especially for her loved ones. She's also shown to cry easily and is very emotional.
When she was alive, she was apparently very heroic and selfless, as she died trying to protect someone else. This also came with her to the afterlife as she refused to leave Lenore behind in the Teraphobia trial, and ended up saving her from death.
I see her voice as high-pitched, with a large range of emotions. One could even try to give her an Irish accent!

Ada is a Nevermore Academy student, both part of Annabel Lee's side and her roommate. She is obsessed with looking like a proper and noble lady, and is deeply in love with Prospero, to the point of being considered an obsession.
As stated before, she's rather feminine and obsessive. I imagine she talks in a standard british accent but goes posher (Or attempts to) around those she wants to impress.

The Raven is a mysterious entity. Although he defines himself as a neutral individual when it comes to Nevermore Academy and Lenore, he has given important information and diverse advices in response to her questions, implying that he could be helpful even if he isn't fully Lenore's ally.
Additionally, he serves as the story's narrator from time to time. He seems to work for the Deans and absolutely despises doing so. His personality is independent, sarcastic and on occasions cocky.
I imagine he sounds like the Cheshire Cat voiced by Stephen Fry or like the black cat from Coraline.

Merry and Mourn are two antagonistic figures in Nevermore, being the deans of the academy. They both are the ones in control over Nevermore Academy and are presumably the ones that will decide who is going to get a new life.
Merry is the more laid-back of the two, he's more willing to take risks and enjoys the games they set up in the academy greatly. Meanwhile Mourn takes it far more seriously, more stuck in his ways. He prefers to stay in his comfort zone.
I imagine Merry's voice has a slight higher pitch than Mourn's, and Mourn would have a more deadpan way of speaking. As for accents, you can play around with them!

Ms. Poppet forms part of the Nevermore Academy staff, being the teacher of the class. She is a trustworthy follower of Merry and Mourn and seems to share most of their ideals. Poppet is a cheerful woman, who is passionate and happy about her position at Nevermore Academy. She has similar characteristics to a real model teacher, wanting everyone in the class to be focused on getting their Spectres. Like when she asks Lenore to stop gaining demerits and not speak out of her turn. She seems to be a bit afraid of the Deans, looking embarrassed when she misnamed them, and yet she seems to have a bit of a crush on them. Poppet also appears to be quite chipper, even when she is talking about life and death.
I imagine her to have a Mary Poppins like voice.
