Project Overview

Nature's Freedom is an animated series/ passion project that I've been working on and trying to refine for a few years now. I'm still unsure of everything but I hope I'll learn as I continue script writing and storytelling.

Looking for a possible co-writer/ writer with experience and audience viewing.

What I'm looking for -

People familiar with character design: Although I've done my research, I wouldn't mind some fellow character designers looking over what I have for feedback.

Script writers/ Reviewers: I've corrected the script many a time, but having someone comment on it wouldn't hurt.

Voice actors: Once everything is looked over, I want to start my storyboarding with the chosen voice actors for each character. In which they'll be given the script, and I'll hopefully be available to give direction.

What I might add in the future -

possibly someone to help direct my storyboarding.

  • What's happening

    I'm happy people are still submitting voice acting roles! - but just to make myself clear. I don't currently need anymore voices for Flora, cloud, grass, and possibly miss mallow. I would mostly like voices for the remainder of the cast though.

  • Assigning roles!

    The time has come to assign roles!

    although I'm still busy with design concepts and final character designs. that doesn't mean I can't give out roles.

    Me and a few others have listened to every audition and have chosen who will get what role for episode 1 of the pilot and will be reached out to shortly.

  • deciding on VA's

    I know I've been dark for a while, but with college and life, things have been busy. I'll continue drawing behind the scenes while also reviewing the current submissions.

  • voice actor update

    Although there are many great submissions to go through. Thank you all for submitting roles by the way!

    I will wait until I have more submissions for some other characters who still don't really have any submissions.

  • 30th deadline

    The project will still be open, but it won't be at the top where it's most visible. So if you could share this project or try voicing one of the remaining characters, that would help!

Looking for people who can listen to the general story and then look over the scripts I have so far to see if it makes sense/ is something they are someone else would be interested in as a show. (It's not my first time writing a script, but I don't exactly have much experience with someone to guide me through what I can do better besides script formatting.)


For the first Ep. Probably someone who can tell me more about Chinese New Year, since that's where the plot episode is taking place.

This is a role for one of the main characters - Flora. Flytrap

Flora is a pre-teen to teen who is quite excitable.


Flora is innocent but cheeky and sassy at times. Speaks with EITHER a faint British or French accent (both are acceptable). 

- The voice lines would be spoken like someone attempting to rid themselves of their accent in exchange for an American accent.

She is bright-eyed as if new to the world around her. She's almost always willing to take risks.

Grass (Joseph) Plantsman is a young adult/ adult who lives in his own home with Flora and Geoffrey.


To explain his voice, he sounds like a typical laid-back skater dude character - 

(some characters for ref - "wade" from Kick Buttowski, "Hip G" from ding dong dead or "jude" from 6teen)


He's mainly laid-back but stern and concerned if needed, like an older sibling.

Beetle is the oldest of the group of friends/ main characters, a teen/older teen.


Beetle is the nerdy friend who's also an insider. He's usually sheltered away by his family, so when he goes outside, he's typically afraid of new things. (He's quite weary of the world outside his home/ habitat.) He's also protective in a sense, his family protected him, so he tries to protect others.


He can be described as intelligent, a bit introverted, and usually worried or concerned.

(CAN be spoken with an accent - possibly European)

Venus is the daughter of Miss Cupid and Hallows Eve.

Not much is known about this character, and she doesn't have more than a line or two. So, if considering the role, please consider trying out for other roles, like one of the main female characters or a background character.


She has a Smooth and soft (Either French or British accent, either is fine), but once chosen, that accent will be the permanent one.


For now, she's mysterious and cunning.

This is a role for Miss. Mallow - A tall yokai lady (she doesn't have many lines, only four speaking roles in this script)


Miss Mallow has the personality of a soft mother figure. So her words are soft and even sometimes quiet.

She mostly speaks Japanese but for this role she'll be speaking English.

Since each episode is focused on a holiday, she will be the focus of the first episode.


CNY, for short, is a sort of self-obsessed personality when it comes to her holiday. Even with this, she loves her son and her love.


I don't really have any voice inspo for her, so the best way to describe her voice/ personality is - energetic, usually loud, since she is used to projecting her voice to be heard by others. I feel her voice has some bass, but not too much; it's still quite high in pitch.
