Momma fish with a loving caring tone. In this part of the comic she talks about the her people's past to her daughter.
The Tidecallers are heroes of our People. They keep us Safe from the terrors of the deep. We honor them today to ensure they are not forgotten. Long ago before you swam your way into this world, the Marai were plagued by attacks from the monstrous creatures in the deep. Our attempts to control the waters around them did not repel the monsters....and countless died.
Until one day, a landwalker gave one of our people a moonstone, so that the blessed glow of the moon could defend our people. In return, she required a pearl sourced from the deepest abyss in the ocean to protect her own tribe.
The monsters withdrew into their crevasse, shrinking from the bright moonstone... but we had not seen the last of them. Whoever we sent to dive into their realm would face the terrors once more.
The Marai chose the strongest warrior. who was brave enough to venture into the darkest abyss and retrieve the pearl. After days of untold horrors, the first tidecaller returned with the glowing pearl in hand. We traded it with the landwalker , promising to help one another again if the need arose.
And so it did. Many times over.
Whenever the light of the moonstones fades, another tidecaller is chosen to defend our people.Nami? Nami, you should know better. Those are not yours.
Rasho appears to be a a shadow of the person he once was. I'm unsure exactly what he is but visually his appearance seems very zombie-like. He sound sounds dead lol, and perhaps slightly crazed.
Effects are a plus
I did not expect you in this place. . . Did you see it? Did you see the beyond?
You cannot imagine the wonders I've seen. The truths I know. I have seen death, and returned unscathed. You have no idea what I am capable of, what we could be capable of.
The pearl is nothing. Take my hand. With the strength of the world beneath the world, we could bring such power to our people. They'd never have to fear again
