Mortal Kombat X Comic Dub
Project Overview
Hello there!
This project is a comic dub of the Mortal Kombat X comics which serve as a prequel to the game's story mode. It mainly serves to fill in the blanks for events that weren't shown within the campaign & provide some additional context for characters & the greater world. This first couple issues mainly delve into Takeda's backstory, particularly his induction into the Shirai Ryu (the Ninja clan led by Scorpion) as well as his connection with his father, Kenshi.
I'm definitely thinking of doing a full comic dub of this run so if that's something people are interested in then let me know! I'll likely expand the casting call or create new ones in the future for later installments. If you're not picked don't worry since there will probably be casting waves with new roles in the future!
(The deadline isn't set in stone yet by the way)
Important stuff:
-Discord is required. Please put your username next to your audition.
-I don't care what mic you use, USB or XLR, as long as the audio doesn't have any background noise.
-I would prefer you to have two takes per line (AABBCC).
-Mortal Kombat contains blood/gore and some profanity so if you're not comfortable with those topics then this isn't for you.

Kenshi speaks with a quiet intensity, often measured and deliberate in his words, reflecting his deep sense of focus and discipline. His tone should suggest an unwavering resolve, even in the face of insurmountable odds.

A revenant ninja consumed by vengeance but capable of redemption. Hanzo’s journey has been one of suffering, loss, and eventually reconciliation. Looking for a voice to capture depth (literally & figuratively) as well as the weight of his tortured past. His tone should be harsh and biting when in combat but with the ability to soften into a melancholic depth when reflecting on his family or the Shirai Ryu.

As the son of Kenshi and pupil of Grandmaster Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion), Takeda is one of the most skilled combatants in all of Mortal Kombat. As a kid he felt unsure of his place in the world but gradually grew to accepting himself. He has a distinct sense of confidence and resolve, much like his father, but also with a touch of wit & playfulness about him. He's highly capable but very laid back.

As a child, Takeda is playful, a bit headstrong, and always eager to impress those around him, especially Kenshi. He idolizes his father but is still learning to handle the discipline and responsibilities expected of him. He's a child at this point so I'm expecting something a little higher pitched.

A Small role with only two lines. Once you're picked I won't need anything else from you for now.
The leader of the Black Dragon and a ruthless opportunist, Kano thrives in the underworld, always looking for his next big score. He revels in taunting his enemies, using his sharp wit and lack of moral restraint to get under their skin. He's all about making money no matter what unethical things he has to do to get it. Rough, cocky, and unapologetically brash all wrapped in a thick Australian accent.

Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) is the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei, a disciplined and honorable warrior whose mastery over cryomancy (ice magic) makes him one of the most formidable fighters in Earthrealm. He carries himself with a quiet strength and while stoic and composed, Sub-Zero is not without emotion. He is fiercely protective of his clan and allies, and his words can cut as sharply as his icy powers when provoked.
