Moon Rising Audiobook - Jade Mountain Library
Project Overview
This is a fan-made audiobook for the sixth book in the Wing of Fire series: Moon Rising! You can audition for as many characters as you like, so don’t be afraid to experiment! When recording your audition, be sure to speak every line listed for that character at least once, and make sure you can accurately capture the emotion that the character is meant to be feeling in the given scene.

If your Casting Call Club username is different from your Discord tag, please add a note to your auditions saying what it is. We are also looking for editors, and all editor applications will be done through Discord.

Although she currently lives in the NightWing Village among her tribemates, she is still widely considered a traitor for secretly raising her daughter Moonwatcher in the Rainforest Kingdom. She was formerly in a relationship with Morrowseer.
(Angry, offended) "It's not the same at all! […] You have two surviving dragonets, and one of them is off on the continent being pampered and overfed and worshipped by the Talons of Peace. So don't try to act like you understand me!"
(Desperate) "I should have kept her with me. I shouldn't have lied to my tribe. I only wanted to protect her from that island — from the smoke and the smell and the rules and the misery, and from the constant fear that the earth will swallow us in fire at any moment. And now she's gone. This is my punishment for deceiving everyone."
(Adoring, motherly) "I'm your mother, little one. I'm going to call you Moonwatcher. You're going to have the happiest life any dragon has ever had, and you're going to live forever and ever, and the volcano will never have you."

Starflight and Fierceteeth's mother. Appears in the prologue alongside her partner when they meet Secretkeeper and try to talk with her
(Worried, trying to comfort) Oh, Secretkeeper, poor dear, […] The egg you lost was due to hatch tonight, wasn't it? Are you all right? […] Do you want someone to sit with you?"

Guard at the tunnel to the rainforest in the prologue. Despite appearing stern, he readily believed Secretkeeper's excuse for going through the tunnel
(Wondering, suspicious) "Where are you going at this hour? […] Shouldn't you have backup for night hunting?"
(Understanding) "Ah. […] Keeping the queen happy. Always a good idea. Right, see you soon, then."

Baby Moonwatcher will appear only in the prologue, and will have mainly dragonet noises, plus a line at the end

Formerly a dragonet of destiny, he is partially responsible for the end of the War of SandWing Succession and the founding of Jade Mountain Academy.

(Sarcastic) "I might literally die of joy."
(Offended) "I have fought in fourteen battles! No one giggles at me! Least of all a RainWing who can't even read and knows nothing about war!"
(Introducing herself) "I'm a loyal subject of Queen Ruby. I'm in the camp that believes Queen Scarlet is dead, and if she isn't, I'd be happy to kill her to protect my queen's throne. I'm here because my queen told me to be, although I should be training with my battalion and guarding her palace, not eating wet fish with a bunch of spineless dragonets. And my favorite color is red."

(Accusing, desperate) "She killed Crane. I saw her. I saw her. She's the one who killed our sister."
(Anxious) "And then everyone was looking at me. Everyone was thinking about me and how awful I am and how much they hate me. They could see right through me, I know they could."
(Explaining) "Our very first night here, when I still wasn't sure — I was almost sure it was her, but I thought I must be mad, and I couldn't let myself sleep because what if she did the same thing to me that she did to Crane? And then in her sleep, she muttered, 'Killing is easy enough.' That's when I knew. She's a murderer and she won't stop until someone does what I failed to do."

(A bit confused) "Hmmm? Didn't I say I was sorry about that?"
(Questioning) "Why is that?"

(Relieved) "Yeah. that's my clawmate."
(A bit nervous) "I don't remember the other names yet."

Sister of Winter. Arrogant and thinks lowly of every dragon who isn't an IceWing
(Accusing, offended) "I'll tell you what else, […] That bomb yesterday was probably meant for me, too. I'm the target. Someone was trying to kill me, and I'm going to find whoever it is and turn them into a glittering ice statue, which I will then beat to smithereens with my tail."
(Calculating) "Very well, Plan B, […] Multiple kills, escape in the chaos. That SandWing is just within range of my frostbreath, and then I slit Starflight's throat, break the little NightWing's neck, and go after Sunny and the others. Winter can stay and whimper over their bones if he wants to."
(Scoffing, enraged) "You never won when we fought in the hatchery, […] Don't bother trying now. And for what? A couple of NightWings? Don't you remember that we hate them? Don't you remember what they did to our tribe? To Hailstorm? […] The NightWings came right out of the sky and killed every last IceWing in Scarlet's mountain prison, […] While the IceWings were still bound and chained. Remember? And do you remember why? To make Queen Scarlet free that one. […] He's the reason they're all dead."

She formerly attended Jade Mountain Academy as a member of the Gold Winglet. Named after the Eye of Onyx, she was hatched in secret and raised in isolation by her mother.
(Snooty) "Yes, but that is half the point. If I could endure that much pain just for a little beauty, imagine how much I could handle in a battle, or for my own survival. I think the most beautiful things should also be frightening."
(Annoyed, calculating) "I don't see why I have to care about dragons from other tribes, but it seems to be expected, for some reason. At least Tamarin was a quiet, agreeable dragon to share a cave with; she didn't snore like Mother or tell weepy stories and expect me to care - like Mother. Ugh, I hope they don't give me another clawmate. Perhaps if I act totally shattered, they'll let me keep the cave all to myself."
(Snooty) "That's right, admire me, fear me, wonder about me. You all have no idea who I am or what I'll be one day. One day soon. No more hiding, Mother. I make the decisions now."

Once a member of the Talons of Peace and guardian of the DoD, he's now a history teacher at Jade Mountain Academy
"Some of you might know who I am, […] For those of you who don't, my name is Webs, and I used to be part of the Talons of Peace. You may have heard of my son, Riptide, who is the new leader of whatever the Talons of Peace are becoming. I was one of the guardians who raised the dragonets of destiny. I taught them the history of Pyrrhia, and now they've asked me to teach it to you. So, we'll start at the beginning, with the Scorching."

Daughter of Six-Claws, is considered to be a gentle soul by Qibli, and smart enough to subtly help Moon interrogate Onyx
(Excited) "Qibli! Are you going home? I might go home. Do you think Father and Thorn would be mad if I went home?"
(A bit rambly) "I like the silver scales by your eyes. They're not diamonds, are they? I wish I had some treasure, or scales that looked like treasure. They're pretty."
(Admiring) "Your diamonds are so cool. Did it hurt to get them set between your scales like that?"
