Tohru is a female dragon with the ability to transform into a human girl. After Kobayashi rescues her, she falls in love with her and decides to work for her as a maid. She is the daughter of Damocles.
"I can turn this area into a sea of fire or curse people to death-"
"If you consider starting Armageddon strong."
"Ah! Miss Kobayashi, would you like to have a sacrifice later? How fun, care for my fresh blood?"
Kobayashi is a bespectacled young woman with bright red hair that is always tied in a ponytail and dead fish hazel brown eyes. She is known to be flat-chested, a physical trait that frustrates her to the point of grumbling over the female dragons' ample busts when they are in their human forms.
"Well, you're doing a lot for me, so I wanted, um, to show appreciation."
"I've said this before so don't make me say it again, please stop licking my laundry."
"Ugh... my head... hangovers suck..."
Kanna accuses Kobayashi and Tohru of being perverts. Kanna is soft-spoken and quiet and demonstrates most of her emotions through minute expressions. Despite being technically older than her human peers, Kanna behaves no differently from a human child as she easily tires of routine and enjoys playing games.
"Hmph, I don't trust you humans though, you must be plotting something. You just wanna use me...!"
"Lady Tohru completely disappeared so I came to find her."
"I saw you breathe fire on those clouds the other day. And, I sensed your magic."
In her dragon form, Elma is a blue sea serpent with a brown horn protruding from her forehead and her brown trident is her tail. She can freely move around in water because she is a water dragon.
"Have you forgotten all of our laws?! Dragons disrupt the order of this world and are forbidden! You, are to return with me!"
"Hmph! Our power may be considered equal by some. But this time, I plan on settling the score!"
"Nothing. I'm just surprised to see the fiendish Tohru listening to a human. What in this world happened."
Fafnir dragon form bears a striking resemblance to the Ogdru-Jahad from the Hellboy comics. He's the only supporting character to not feature horns or a tail in his human form. He is the only dragon so far to have another form rather than Human or Dragon.
"If you say anything... I'll kill you."
"...help yourself."
Lucoa's human design is painfully beautiful and "pleasing" to the eye. She is the wisest, most intelligent, rational and serious of all the dragons. After all, she is for all intents and purposes a goddess who was responsible for helping develop civilization into what it is today.
"My favourite thing about swimsuits is that you can show off as much flesh as you want!"
"I think you might have been too honest."
"Ahh, they finally let me back out."
At first glance, Riko seems bossy and mean, but over time she seems nicer as shown with Kanna and very polite around people like Kobayashi. She has a crush on Kanna and enjoys being around her.
"Kanna, your friends are incredible!"
"And? Little kids come here to play too so you should leave if you can't handle your dumb games."
"Why, what's wrong? You scared? Maybe you're afraid you're gonna get embarrassed in front of all your nerdy loser friends. Try not being so chicken!"
Shouta is a young boy born into a family of mages in the modern world. He is quite a shy person most of the time when being with Lucoa. When Lucoa attempts to seduce Shouta, he would run away with embarrassment and accuse Lucoa to be a demon.
"You demon!"
"I- I wasn't!"
"You didn't tell me you were inviting friends here!"
A perfectionist, Makoto has a strong sense of responsibility and refuses to yield to adversity. Similar to Fuuka Yamagishi and Yukiko Amagi, she is intelligent, honest, and very hardworking. She also has a compassionate side and reveals herself to be an understanding young lady.
"Kobayashi! You're right, she's just your amazing cosplay maid! It's cultural appropriation but without any culture!"
"That's what I'm screaming! Sure, lolitas are maid fashion due a quality dollar and rightfully so, but they should be careful not to slip into boring! We need to reduce-"
"You know, Tohru, those horns are a nice if not confusing touch to the cosplay."
An elementary teacher.
"It's time for class!"
"You are all dismissed."
He is a middle aged man with a black dress shirt and red tie, accompanied by a pair of beige pants. He has facial hair on his upper lip and chin with a bald spot on the top of his head due to his age.
"Kobayashi! The delivery date is almost here!"
"Kobayashi! There's an error!"
"Kobayashi! Help out here!"
Nae Saikawa is a gentle sweet caring young woman always willing to help out. Her kind heart and dedication towards maids led her to become one.
"How may I help you, Riko?"
Sasakibe has dark green eyes and brown hair. Her hair is usually in a ponytail with the end hanging off her shoulder. She is very friendly to Kobayashi, Kanna, and Tohru.
"I made some food for you guys for the new years!"
Sone has thick eyebrows, and his eyes are usually closed. He has no hair on the top of his head. He is usually seen with a purple shirt. He is friendly to his neighbours Kobayashi, Kanna, and Tohru.
"I'm here to give you this since it's the New Year's."
Tatsuta sells meat and food in the market.
"Would you like some meat?"
Toda
"Hey there! My name's Toda."
Tohru's Father found Tohru in the other world on the last episode.
"You realize why I'm here, don't you?"
Yana has yellow and green hair, with one long side and two barrettes. He has dark orange eyes. He wears a long earring on one ear. Yana is a death metal guitarist. He interprets Tohru's feedback of his music, "Hades crushing Hercules", as a compliment.
"Hey. Here are some tangerines I got. They gave me a lot."
