Project Overview
What is Mint Chocolate?
Mint Chocolate is going to be a sci-fi animated mini series on YouTube. If you are familiar with animated TV shows and have watched Final Space or Bravest warriors, it will be similar in style but much more heavy and less cartoony in tone. The art style will be very similar to Bee and Puppy Cat. I have been working on the scripts and character designs for over 2 years now and am finally ready for a rough animatic with temp voice actors. If you do really well and really fit the part then you may reprise the roll in the final audio for the real episode. For now I am going to be much less strict about my casting decisions, as we just need voices for the characters for now, they don’t need to fit perfectly.

Things to consider:
You mic quality and room noise needs to be fairly good. That means no echo, background noise, and peaking in your mic. Other than that, just make sure to give me more than one take for each line and you should be good.

This is very a rough synopsis, but does give the entire plot. If it seems to complicated that's because I'm terrible at condensing plot points lol.
A dying race of humans in another galaxy sends 1000 ships out into space in search to hopefully find a suitable planet for their race to migrate too. Each ship has two babies on board, as well as an AI who will raise and take care of them. Half are given sentient AI’s, half are given non-sentient AI’s. Our story follows one of the ships named “Fate.” Aboard are two babies, Wess and Marah (later known as Mariah), accompanied by an AI named Jay (who is not sentient). Throughout the series we discover that Marah (Mariah) died at an early age, due to an unfortunate accident caused by Wess. Jay erased these memories. Jay performed multiple failed experiments with Wess to try and help him cope with being alone, of which all the memories were erased. Wess becomes clinically insane and develops schizophrenia, imagining a cast of 3 characters known as Marah, Bo, and Sam, as well as assigning a seemingly normal human personality to Jay, all of which were real people that were in his life at one point but are gone now. We see the show mostly through the lens of Wess, thinking that the entire cast of characters are real, only occasionally seeing the situation for how it is and realizing they are just Wess’ imagination. Over the entire series, the plot is slowly revealed to the viewers. Eventually, Wess uncovers the truth about his past: he realizes that Marah was a representation of Mariah, that he was responsible for her death, all of the unfortunate tests Jay put him through, and everything that happened in the past. In the end Wess finds files of recent messages left by the real Bo and Sam. Turns out they were other kids who had talked to him when he and Mariah were young. Upon discovering their files, he learns they have been sending him video messages every couple months ever since they lost contact. Though a montage he watches them all and we learn that Bo and Sam have found a planet and just touched down. The series ends with a broken Wess setting a hopeful course for Bo and Sam’s planet. The last shot is him opening up the video recorder and and taking a shakey breathe as he presses record.

Wess is the main protagonist. He is around 14 years old, although it doesn't really matter if the voice sounds older. He is rather calm and collected, and usually either sad and depressed or calmly happy. There aren't too many special traits I want to list as I just want to here how many natural voices fit hit character.
**I changed this line. You might hear a different one in older auditions** (Annoyed and monotone) Jay... how many more times are you going to tell the same thing. Do you really think I don't get it by now? Do you honestly think it's not painfully obvious that your ignoring me?
(Normal Conversational Tone) So, what are you gunna eat? I'm not really that hungry.
(Shakey Breathing, shocked beyond beleif) ...n-no... what the hell... Marah... I'm so sorry...
Marah is the love interest of Wess. They are already together and she considers Wess as her significant other. There is no need to feel like they need to confess their love, if anything, you should read her lines as though they have been together for some time and know each other. She is the smart one of the group, who often helps with more scientific or math related problems. She strong, collected, and has personality. One thing to note is that I am looking for very natural sounding voices for this. I want the characters to sounds as real as possible. Marah doesn't have too many lines in this, but the ones she does have are rather short sentences.
(Groggily, just waking up) Ur cute... I have to pee...
(Normal Conversational Tone) Uuuuum, I guess just an omelet and bacon is fine.
(Shakey breathing, emotional and sad/angry) Jay never told us? A-all this time we've just been sitting here doing nothing every day when we could have had a chance!? I- How coul- (she stops her self and gets quieter and more calm, but still shakey and sad) Why... w-why would he do something like this. I'm so sorry Wess... I'm sorry...
Bo has very few lines in this first episode, but he is no less important. Bo is very much a chill person. He basically a "bro" kind of personality and very nice, but minus the stereotypical surfer dude bro accent. He should have a very kind and chill voice.
(normal playful tone) I would freakin love some synthesized hashbrowns and waffles right about now.
(Slightly playfully mocking) G’morning love birds.
(A little confused) Oh… um ok.
Sam has the smallest amount of lines out of every character totaling at 5. She is calm, cynical, more introverted than the rest, but still is a loving person to those she cares about. She and Bo have a romantic interest in each other, but neither has really pursued it so far.
(affectionate, slightly teasing) Hi, nerd.
PLEASE DO BOTH LINES HERE
(after being asked a question she replies normally) I had to help Jay try and fix some stuff earlier, so yeah haha.
(Jay says this in response: "I never knew you could fix so many electronics with just a screwdriver haha.")
(Sam replies in the same tone as before) Well, it's pretty easy when most of the problem was just screws vibrating loose, JAY.(cold and cynical) Yeah, I'll keep fixing everything. Yeah, I'll make sure this place doesn't fall apart. But if you think that we aren't fighting a loosing battle maybe you should come with me some time.
