Mind The Gob
Project Overview
ABOUT THE PROJECT
MIND THE GOB is an independent, comedic animated short film produced by Estupido Productions.
The story follows Kyle, a lanky 20-year-old goblin who isn't interested in hoarding treasure or hiding under bridges—instead, he is completely obsessed with minor human household inconvenience. From removing single remote batteries to leaving milk cartons uncapped, Kyle treats petty chaos like a high-stakes tactical operation.

Testing, testing... Is this thing on? Good. Welcome to human household sabotage 101.
Step two: The Uncapped Milk.
Tune in next week as we cover: swapping the sugar with salt. Class dismissed.
The Human is an exhausted 30-something wearing an oversized bathrobe with messy hair who shuffles through his morning in a groggy haze, easily defeated by minor annoyances—so much so that when he trips over a rug, hurts his back, and finds a missing TV remote battery, he simply pulls his bathrobe hood over his eyes and sinks into the couch to ignore reality.

The Lead / Keyframe Animator is the creative engine behind the short film's performance, responsible for defining the key storytelling poses, character acting, and comedic timing for both Kyle and the Human. They draw the critical extreme frames—capturing Kyle's hyperactive tactical dives and razor-sharp victory grins alongside the Human's slow, exhausted slumps—to anchor every visual joke. Beyond drawing keyframes, they set timing charts to ensure the slapstick animation snaps smoothly, construct official model sheets to keep both characters visually consistent across the team, and review rough passes to maintain high animation quality throughout production.

Traces clean final linework over the rough animations and handles character coloring to maintain a consistent style.

The Storyboard Artist converts the script into the short film's complete visual blueprint, mapping out every camera angle, character action, and comedic beat before any animation starts. For Mind The Gob, they stage the high-energy slapstick sequences—such as Kyle's tactical kitchen dive, sock-sliding, and awkward drape disguise—while establishing key framing like the vintage CRT TV perspectives and the Human's low-angle couch slump. By locking down the spatial layout, timing pauses, and character poses across every panel, they create a fully timed animatic reel that lets the director and animation team test every joke and refine the film's rhythm prior to final production.
