MILGRAM: Minigram Dub Project
Project Overview
What is This Project?
This project aims to dub the short Minigram spin-off comics stemming from the interactive music project MILGRAM! These comics are lighthearted peeks into life at Milgram prison as well as character interactions, and this project aspires to breathe life into the comedic comics as well as make each chapter more easily accessible.
What's the Goal?The dubs of each chapter will be posted as their own video on the project's TikTok page (@minigram.dub) on a regular schedule (details to be determined). To do this, chapters will be recorded and edited in batches. Additionally, collections of chapters will be posted on my YouTube channel (@vinandvigor) after the chapters in each prepared batch are posted onto TikTok
Since Minigram is a still ongoing series, new chapters will be recorded and posted onto the project's TikTok page as they are completed.
If the project runs smoothly, it is possible that we may try to dub the interrogation scenes. Bear in mind that this would be a possibility further off in the future, and may require a larger team of editors and scriptwriters.
Suggestions for the project are also welcome. Since the project will be slower on content once we catch up to what is currently released, other smaller skits and promotional material may be recorded. Additionally, the cast may also be asked to record announcements and other content that can be posted on the project's social media.
Project RequirementsWhile all are welcome and encouraged to audition, good audio quality is preferred. Please try to minimize background noise as much as possible without sacrificing the quality of your audio (i.e. not using excessive noise suppression so that it makes your voice sound robotic). Additionally, try to avoid issues like mic peaking.
Since the Minigram comics are still ongoing, please be able to participate in this project somewhat long term. At the very least, I would like a team of voice actors that are able to communicate if they have issues, need extensions, or need to drop the project for any reason so that we can make adjustments accordingly.
I would much rather have expressive voices that can portray a wide variety of emotion over a "perfect" 1:1 interpretation of the character's Japanese voices. Additionally, keep in mind that it is much easier to tone things down than it is to amp things up. Do your best, and fine tuning can be done after casting.
I do not intend on covering any of the songs as a part of this project. If anyone in the cast would like to showcase their talent, that is welcome, but you are not required to sing to participate in this project, nor will you be expected to.
Please be active and unafraid of feedback. I would like to make this project the best it can be, so there may be times where you are asked to rerecord lines.
Audition RequirementsDo not slate your audition. All relevant information can be written in your submission comments, and will make the casting process run a lot smoother on my end.
Since all work on this project will be done via Discord, please add your Discord username in your audition.
You will be asked to submit multiple takes of lines while working on the project, so I would prefer if auditions were done the same way. It is preferred that auditions are submitted in an AABBCC format.
Have fun! This project will be made great by the environment and engagement of the people in it! I am very excited to hear all of your talent, so if you're considering auditioning for a role, go for it!
The role of Kotoko Yuzuriha is already being covered. I apologize for any inconvenience. If you may have been interested in auditioning for her, Es may be a good alternative, though anyone is welcome to audition for any role!

Hello everyone! It’s been 3 weeks, and wow! 78 auditions!! I am incredibly grateful for every talented individual willing to take the chance on my project. As we close in on the final week of this casting call, I am going to start listening to auditions! There may be a chance that I comment on your submission throughout the week asking you to possibly consider auditioning for another character to satisfy my curiosity. I want to add a disclaimer to say that these suggestions do not guarantee anyone any part, nor do they reflect any choices for the final cast. Final decisions will be made once the casting call closes, and these requests are simply here to test some possibilities. I suppose you could consider them as a type of callback, in some way.

Li Ciel
A guard of Milgram Prison who guides Es and informs them of their task to judge the incarcerated prisoners. He is very opinionated about the prisoners and passionate about the operation of Milgram Prison. He takes pride in the fact that he's a Jackalope, and gets very offended if he is ever referred to as a rabbit. While being rather talkative, only Es is capable of hearing him.
Despite his cute and soft appearance, he has a rather deep voice. Jackalope is also a rather expressive character, and I would encourage you to embrace that in your audition.

Alyssa
A guard of Milgram Prison that operates under the guidance of Jackalope. It is their job to interrogate the prisoners and judge them based on whether or not they forgive them for their crimes. Es is typically calm and collected, speaking in a very neutral tone. Despite this, they have moments where they question their purpose and memory with dread, and are quick to resort to violence
Es is 15 years old and has no specified gender. As such, varying interpretations are welcome.

A quiet young prisoner who's normally always looking at the ground. At first, he would only respond to Es’s questions with a word or two. But as he starts to open up more through conversation, he slowly starts to become more talkative. When you're able to communicate with him properly, you can see his true personality: a kind and gentle person.
He is mild-mannered and does not seem to dislike being in MILGRAM. He tries to converse with Es and the other prisoners, but since his communication skills are poor, he is unable to hold a proper conversation. (Description taken from Haruka's character wiki page).
Haruka is 17 and is a very meek and timid character. I would like this to be present in his lines, even when he is awestruck or impressed by something.

A young, strong-minded prisoner with fierce-looking eyes. Out of everyone in MILGRAM, he is the most impulsive and has a rough temper. He has a strong sense of justice, and will strongly oppose any wrongdoing. When talking to Es, he protested on his own rights, and demanded better living conditions.
His tendency to get his emotions overcome him and his harsh words make it easy to misunderstand his character, but he isn't a bad person, but rather a good-hearted but cowardly individual (Description taken from Fuuta's character wiki page).
Fuuta is 20 years old and is quick to get angry. Oftentimes he should sound angry or frustrated in his lines.

A prisoner that looks calm at first, but is actually quite blunt, often opposing the situation she’s in at MILGRAM. Muu's behavior gives the impression she was raised in a wealthy family. When caught up in an argument, she tends to start crying or whining. She does not like fighting with people she thinks of as her friends, and she is very sensitive, though she can have an attitude at some times (Description taken from Muu's character wiki page).
Muu is 16 years old and is blunt and quiet. Her quiet disposition should be present in most lines, but feel free to be expressive when she whines or complains.

Shidou is 29 and often has a calm disposition in everything he says, regardless of subject. While he expresses joy often, he isn't over the top with enthusiasm.

A talkative, ever-smiling female prisoner who's warm like the sun. She doesn’t play favourites with the people she interacts with, and is very devoted. She is the oldest among the female prisoners. Despite that, she's pure-hearted, always acting cheery even when she's being teased or lied to. Her presence in MILGRAM allows others to feel more relaxed (Description taken from Mahiru's character wiki page).

An upbeat and friendly prisoner who has no idea what he could have done to end up in MILGRAM, insisting that it must be some kind of mistake or prank show. In order to keep up appearances, he keeps positive relations with the other prisoners, even giving most of them nicknames. Despite this, he seems to be quite aggressive and violent behind closed doors.
Mikoto is 23 and is well known for his duality. As such, Mikoto will have an audition line from his interrogation in order to hear all aspects of his character.

Since these roles are only in a few chapters, it is encouraged to audition for this if you are auditioning for a main character as well. I would prefer to double cast this role in order to keep everyone involved in the project engaged.
