Project Overview

MerckWerrier is a working title for a project I started a few years back. I had a great group that worked through all of the difficulties of writing and recording audio.  We were planning on using for the majority of our recording (MechWarrior Online),  but at the time, private matches weren't a thing, and the project description video will demonstrate how frustrating the process was. 


Luckily this has changed, and I have a bunch of private match time that I never used!

Please feel free to view it and listen to the audio that we recorded. There are ten episodes written and an 'AD' which you saw if you watched the description video. I estimate the final product to be about 5-10 minutes long per episode. So, almost an hour worth of content total. 



I am no longer in contact with any of the people you hear in the recordings, so this script will likely need a rewrite to include you as the new crew! And, I mean that in the most literal way:



I plan on recording these episodes with the actors puppeteering as much as possible. Being unable or unwilling to act out your audio while you move your mech will not preclude selection, however, because of the nature of this project preference will be given in this order:




1. Willingness to puppeteer

2. Familiarity with MechWarrior and/or BattleTech

3. Clear audio



Seriously: Even if you don't have the greatest microphone, if you meet the first two criteria I will gladly consider your audition over what you might think I will pick. Every character will have a voice filter in post anyway. 



DO NOT APPLY A FILTER TO YOUR AUDITION PLEASE! 

Preferred audio format is either 16-bit 44,100Hz or 16-bit 48,000Hz.

Once I have found 6-10 beautiful, brave, and dedicated MechWarriors, I will begin rewrites. Parts will be added throughout the project, so don't fret if you're not selected for one of the current main roles. I will probably make a role for you!



I expect to produce at least one video a month, and will start scripting the second season once the rewrite is complete on the first.

Black is a badass chick. Period. The daughter of a decorated war hero, reckless and confident to the point of arrogance, she will do anything to get out of her father's shadow.

Originally written as a male, I might switch to a female if the voice fits. This character won't shut up. He (or she) is always smiling, and looking for love in all the wrong places. I will likely tone this character down, but for now: Think Quagmire from Family Guy for delivery (not his voice).
