Project Overview
This is a character voice search for an original story centering on Melony. (or for animated shorts!)
The goal of this casting call is to find the definitive voices for these characters. I am looking for talented voice actors to grow with future projects. Once the right voices are found, the selected actors will be the primary choice for all future animated shorts and story content.
Microphone quality must be very good, no background noise please.
All projects I'll animate will be SFW!Though cuts and bruises can occur on creatures. no excessive gore.
Compensation & PaymentRate: €15.00 EUR per 100 words. *Note: This rate applies to all future scripted projects once the cast is finalized.

Terms: Payments will be sent within 24 hours of receiving the high-quality, final audio files.
Fees: I will cover the PayPal transaction fees so that you receive your full price.
CommunicationOnce a voice actor is chosen, communication is preferred on discord!
If a project is in the making, a discord group will be made with all actors needed.

Melony is a Pegasus/Kirin hybrid, a science experiment created in a sky laboratory run by the ego-driven Dr. Sterling. While she was created with the ability to listen from longer distances and made to defend the lab, she was never allowed to feel. Her laboratory name is M-7.
Now that she’s free, the world is a sensory explosion, everything outside the lab is completely new to her. She is curious, observant, sometimes a bit scatterbrained. When there are moments where she learns something new, she gets very excited.
Her main drive is to discover herself more and learn about the Pegasi and Kirin.
Granny Yarnie is basically her adoptive grandma!
Voice: Medium-high, Expressive, and Heartfelt.
Melony's name is pronounced me-lo-nee (not me-lone-ee) like melody but with an N instead!

Melony’s Adoptive Grandmother & Mentor, and the heart of Terra Village.
Granny Yarnie is the embodiment of patience, warmth, and wisdom. While the rest of Terra Village is defined by their sturdy, no-nonsense earth pony traditions, Granny has a soul as soft and colorful as the wool she knits.
She doesn't see a "science experiment" when she looks at Melony, she sees a granddaughter who needs a place to land. She is sweet but never fragile, possessing a sharp mind and a steady voice that can calm a panic attack or silence a room of gossiping villagers with a single look. She is Melony’s mentor and guide.

Ivy is the twin who is always three steps ahead, usually heading toward trouble. She’s mischievous, quick-witted, and has a bit of a rebel streak. She’s the one who suggests climbing the tallest trees or making harmless pranks.
Her voice should be on the playful & cheeky side.

The twin sister of Ivy.
Clover is the "voice of reason," though she usually ends up following Ivy anyway just to make sure her sister doesn't get hurt. She is friendly, level-headed, and empathetic.

M-6 is an Alicorn experiment who serves a specific function: she is the lab's living shield. Her wings do not work, but her two horns possess incredible magic. Dr. Sterling uses her to create barriers for his facility and crew, plus to help keep the electricity on in the building. This process is exhausting, leaving her in a state of perpetual low battery. She's Selectively mute, obedient, and mentally drained.
She rarely speaks, preferring to nod or use small gestures to communicate. She follows every rule perfectly because she doesn't understand that "no" is an option. To her, life is simply a series of commands and the exhaustion that follows. However, when other fellow hybrids approach her, a small spark of the pony she was meant to be returns to her eyes and she feels happier around them.
Vocal Direction: Her voice should have some breath in it. Like a "weak/tired" breathy voice. It's not monotone, but tired. More alive when interacting with hybrids.

Subject M-5 is an earlier creation of Dr. Sterling. M-5 is a Siren Pony hybrid who is deeply loyal and a bit fearful of her creator. She follows his instructions with precise obedience, though her natural personality is shy, soft-spoken, and reserved. Her 'lab habitat' is a water tank with an island in the middle for comfort.
Her primary function in the lab is "containment and retrieval." She possesses a haunting, melodic voice capable of luring other ponies toward her through melodic hums and song. She doesn't necessarily want to cause harm, but she views her abilities as a tool she must use to please Dr. Sterling.
Vocal Pitch: Soft, timid, and feminine. The actress must be comfortable with melodic humming or singing.
Style: Very obedient. She often speaks in short, careful sentences to avoid upsetting the doctor.

Line3: [Joyful] (M-5 is underwater, blowing perfect, shimmering bubbles and watching them wobble to the surface.) "Look, M-7! I made a heart shape! it’s the biggest one I’ve ever made!"

Archetype: Rogue Scientist & Dark Sorcerer
Personality: Cold, Meticulous, and Cunning.
Dr. Sterling was once a rising star in a prestigious science school for unicorns, until his "unethical" methods led to his expulsion. Now, he operates from a secret sky laboratory hidden deep within a storm of dark clouds and thunder. Using a blend of ancient dark magic and forbidden technology, he grafts the DNA of different pony races and creatures to create hybrid ponies.
He views his hybrids as living trophies, proof of his intellectual superiority. He isn't inherently cruel for the sake of it, but he is completely detached. If a subject "glitches" or refuses to obey, he views it as a broken tool that can simply be replaced with a fresh batch of DNA. He is sly, articulate, and possesses a sharp wit.
Vocal Pitch: Medium-Low. Deep, resonant, and commanding.
Tone: Mostly cold and calculated, but capable of sharp, explosive anger or a "sly" charm.
Style: Sophisticated. he speaks with the clarity of a pony who has mastered the impossible.

[Amused] (Melony tells him she hates him and wants to leave.) - ''((A soft, genuine chuckle)) How dramatic! It’s adorable, really. You 'hate' me? You might as well say you hate the air you breathe. I’m the reason you even have lungs to complain with.''
