WORK DESCRIPTION:
This is a short 12-episode series which follows a band that's climbing to relevancy.
This is the fourth project I've made.
This is less of a musical and more of a drama and slice-of-life show with a bit of romance.
The content in this series is heavily platonic, however LGBTQIA+ themes WILL be present.
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Melody! follows the behind-the-scenes chaos of Chroma, a washed-up indie band once fueled by creativity and chaos. But as they fell out of relevancy, they decided to jumpstart their road to popularity again by doing their first tour across Los Perrito, however, their complete opposite, Møno, just so happened to start their own tour. With this predicament, a quiet rivalry begins to form—turning every stage into a competition for something more than just music.

Hirami's voice actor has been selected and now all those trying out for Akatarou will have to have good synergy with her VA. This is not to discourage anyone trying to submit for Akatarou, but please do bear in mind that you and Nyomsterr will have to have good synergy for voice acting and just in general. Thank you for taking time to try out for us!
We added a song to the Casting Call to test your singing skills! We also added lines for those that don't have Canon lines in the script, and we are also planning on working with multiple languages for diversity and flexibility with voice acting!
Desc: Hands on a screen at all times, Christopher is the financial supporter and backend manager of the band. He is the one responsible for keeping Chroma out of debt. He spends his time with Akatarou planning out venues, schedules, and managing licenses with Lumiere.

Notes: Met up with Akatarou to get access to the BoLP Stadium for a venue. Christopher is dating Lumiere.
Not in Script (Up to Interpretation) - Christopher is on the phone with Akatarou: "Well to make the stadium plan work, you'll need more than that mate... (Attention shift) Sorry, yes? Is Carol calling me? Again?! Crap... Hold on, Mister Hanashibi, I'll just have to..."
Not in Script (Up to Interpretation) - Christopher meets Chroma: "Oh wow, you guys must be Chroma, right? Nice to meet you, I'm who Mister Hanashibi called about being a financial manager."
Desc: As emotionless and as the bassist may seem, Akatarou is the backbone of the band. He is the most versatile and responsible member of the band. He spends most of his time making sure Hirami and Leo don’t get into trouble, and manages schedules, plans, and venue scouting alongside Leo.
Akatarou thought of how to become relevant in this scene, he is encouraging: "What if... we went on a cross-country tour? You know, around Los Perrito?"
Akatarou brushed off Hirami's dismissive comment, he is : "Oh c'mon sis, it was just an idea!" (OPTIONAL FOR JAPANESE HERE.)

Desc: A bright star in a galaxy of music, Hirami is the master of concepts for the band. She is the most creative and outgoing member of the band. She spends most of her time scouting for music video locations and venues alongside Akatarou and Lumiere.

Notes: Hirami is twins with Akatarou. Hirami is Leo’s girlfriend.
Hirami is agitated here due to their stagnation: "Can we FINALLY tackle the fact we haven't been relevant since last year?! Our most recent EP didn't even get more than two thousand streams!"
Hirami comments dismissively to Akatarou's idea: "Do we even have the money for that? Plus, we're still missing a manager since Cassian ditched."
Desc: A snarky and waggish individual, Cassidy or Cass for short is definitely the energy of the band, they are definitely the most fun and most playful out of all of them. They spend most of the time on their band social media accounts, and are the one who did most of the promotional material.

Notes: Cassidy is roommates with Leo because of space problems.
Cassidy and the rest of the band just finished practice, Cassidy is whining: "Man, I'm swamped! Practice after practice, me arms 're boutta fall off!"
Cassidy is downplaying Hirami's anger: "Oh calm down, Hirami! It's a new EP, just give it some ti-" *Gets cut off.*
Cassidy is acting cocky towards Akatarou's idea: "Yeah, your sister's right. Do we even have the budget for that? Unless you're secretly a billionaire?"
VOICE DIRECTION: Lumiere is a slow-medium paced talker, with a tendency to slow down when talking to someone she knows. Her tone is rather floaty, naturally being relaxing to listen to. She has a warm and soothing voice.
Not in Script (Up to Interpretation) - Lumiere is at one of Hirami's photoshoots: "Just to the left here... And Leo, dear? Could you pull those branches back a bit? You should be off-camera here for Hirami's solo focus shots..."
Not in Script (Up to Interpretation) - Lumiere is taking photos of the concert for posters for future tours, and the crowd keeps messing her up: "Please, just let me get this still... No! My camera..."
Desc: Young blood, budding artist, who is definitely talented, and is riding the rush of being a rising sensation. He is definitely far too young and not PR trained enough for running a band but some fans say that's just a part of the charm of the entire band. Starting from trashy garage band to full on famous gave him a slight ego trip.

VOICE DIRECTION: Needa speaks in a medium-paced tone, his voice fairly agitated. He is rather loud and snarky voice due to being the lead singer of the entire band. His voice is somehow always sounding mad, and with his volatile behaviour is prone to cussing.

Dismissive, Normal: "Let the leads think, Ollie. Don't cut me off just for some idea you've got that probably won't work."
Snarky, Competitive, Call: "Ey, Leo! Same venue? You bet your asses your concert's not gonna be as popular as ours, alright? Don't cry, told you so after all."
Desc: An insanely skilled bassist but she always pushes herself to be better, some fans call it ambition, some call it perfectionism from her early days. Either way the band (alongside other distractions) has become a way to escape from her problems, and she always has found playing alongside her bandmates fun, she actually writes most of their songs alongside Ollie.

Desc: Quick to argue is an understatement for the drummer, with how much they grumble you might think they’re always mad but that's quite the opposite because as fast as they are to argue they also start to sulk and pout just as fast. But either way they are probably the most passionate about the band by far and that is a high bar with how much all of them have put time into the band.

Notes: The only one with a stage name. Wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow get infantilized by the community since they pout a lot.

Desc: A sleazy individual who loves getting on people’s nerves just because she likes the different reactions she would get from them. Her place in the band has to be the most fun, as she probably has the most fans with how many clips there are of her out there. But even though being the main guitarist of the band she can never show up to practice on time, but still excel at her playing.

Notes: She likes messing with her bandmates, especially Ollie. She also really likes sharks (insert friendly rivalry on how Hirami likes/looks like a Orca(s) and Malee likes sharks)

MUSIC DESCRIPTION:
Chroma's music is more connected with others, with a lively and upbeat tone. They spend most of their music as a way to send a message and voice that others might not be able to get out normally. Such as through positivity and songs that "battle depressive moods" whilst still giving importance and showing the problems of keeping said depressive moods ignorance to grow. (Think of Eminem's Stan as a demonstration.)

MUSIC DESCRIPTION:
Møno's music is highly critical of their generation and people that surround them, with a tendency for vulgarity and aggressive remarks. They spend most of their music as a way to tell the world what is wrong with it and they don't care about how offended people get. Claiming that others are soft because of this, they put pressure onto the problems of other people for this reason. (Think of Green Day's American Idiot as a demonstration.)
