Mega Man: The Comic Dub (Rock of Ages)

Project Overview

In the Year 200X, the future is about to be built as Famed Roboticist Doctor Thomas Light is about to unveil his most ambitious Project yet: The Robot Masters Project. A Series of Robots carrying Light’s patented Hyper-Advanced AI that mimics Human Consciousness, all designed and built to assist humanity in different tasks, as the first step in creating not just a Better Tomorrow, but a Perfect Tomorrow. But when Light’s Robotics Partner, Doctor Albert Wily, reprograms the Robot Masters to become destructive and evil out of his own jealousy and ego, all seems lost. That is, until Rock, one of Doctor Light’s Helper Robots and Son, offers himself up to become upgraded into a Super Fighting Robot, who will be able to stop the Robot Masters and save Humanity from Wily. His name? MEGA MAN!

The cocky, arrogant, and rebellious dark mirror of Mega Man, Bass is out to prove that he’s the strongest. Bass is a Robot Master created by Doctor Wily who comes from the future, designed as Doctor Wily’s answer to Mega Man, complete with many of Mega Man’s functions and just as powerful, who Mega Man runs into whilst hopping through the future. Bass is incredibly cocky, believing himself to be the strongest Robot to ever be built and continually seeks to prove that fact, challenging Mega Man and others in order to defeat them and prove this status to himself, holding next to no regard for anyone other than himself. He’s also quite rebellious, not being particularly loyal to Doctor Wily, only following along with him should it benefit his goal, however he has attacked and threatened Wily at multiple points. Bass also has a flair for the dramatic, having a certain hamminess to him with his egotistical and morally dubious tendencies, a very important part of the character. I need an actor who can portray Bass’s ego and drive

I am looking for a medium to medium-high pitch for Bass, and I want his ego and flare for the dramatics to be emphasized. A comparison for that is Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda, but I DO NOT just want an impression of Tai Lung, rather he’s a good frame of reference to how Bass’s inflections should be

  • (After shooting Mega Man, looking at him, condescendingly asking a rhetorical question) “Hmph. How did YOU ever manage to stop Doctor Wily?”

  • (Facing the large Time Rift that resulted in Mega Man hopping through time, responding to Rock’s plan to blast it together with slight skepticism, before smugly responding to his own proposition) “I’m not opposed to blowing things up, but how can you be sure this won’t erase you from the timeline or something? If you can’t, well, it’s a chance I’m willing to take”

One of Doctor Light’s additional Robot Masters, Concrete Man is here to help. He was one of Doctor Light’s many subsequent Robot Masters after the original line, and specifically designed to help with construction, being deployed early to help Guts Man with safety construction. Concrete Man is very committed to his work, butting heads with Guts Man due to the former’s jealousy, but after working together to finish the job, the two become close friends off the job, Concrete Man able to show his more relaxed side. I need an actor who can portray Concrete Man’s no-nonsense side and amicable side

I am looking for a low pitch for Concrete Man, he has quite a big and low voice, once again being quite civilized though slipping into more casual talk at times

Voice description:
  • male adult
  • (Concrete Man responding to Guts Man’s condescending comment about his function, snapping slightly but still staying level headed) “I was BUILT for Dam construction, ya big lug. So if yer done hanging around like a lazy Met, let’s get to work!”

  • (Concrete Man desperately assisting Guts Man as the Dam is about to break, the two making up for their arguing as Concrete Man is filling the Dam) “Yeah, well, I should’ve let your sass slide and focused on the job. Almost done!”

One of Doctor Light’s additional Robot Masters, Splash Woman is ready for rescue. She was one of Doctor Light’s many subsequent Robot Masters after the original line, and specifically designed to help with aquatic rescue, being deployed early by Oil Man to help Roll and Quake Woman with the cruise ship incident. Splash Woman has somewhat of an “Older Sister” nature to her, rescuing and reassuring others as part of her job, alongside assisting the other Robot Masters when needed, alongside being amicable with most of them. I need an actor who can portray Splash Woman’s caring presence and attitude

I am looking for a Medium to Medium-Low pitch for Splash Woman, having her sound like an older woman, and for her voice to be smooth and serene, comforting for anyone she has to assist on rescue jobs

Voice description:
  • female adult
  • (Splash Woman addressing Tempo after saving her, being caring but also straightforward with her) “Are you all right, dear? Good, there are a lot of people in need. I don’t have time for Robots, too”

  • (Splash Woman communicating with Oil Man, having to fix a leak in the Cruise Ship’s hull with her trident) “Copy that. The damage is pretty severe… but if I can close off enough of it, I think you can split your focus without risking too much pollution”
