Project Overview
Gabriel Novak has a lot of free time on his hands, being on house arrest and all. So what does the lackadasical and irresponsible sort of-adult do with his free time? He digs. He just can't help himself. He digs into things that other people, namely his resident skeptic and half sister Lex, would think are impossible. Ghosts and psychics and demons and angels and Gods abound. But Gabriel wouldn't be Gabriel without sticking his nose where it didn't belong. He ends up uncovering a conspiracy about his own family, forcing him and Lex to spiral down into a sinister plot to end Lex's life and jumpstart the apocalypse. With the help of their broken families and new friends, will they be able to stop the end of the world in time-or will it be too late?

Gabriel is a lovable asshole who always has a sarcastic comment or inappropriately timed joke up his sleeve, but he does have his calm moments where the planets align and he can be a good person. He’s always questioning things, always looking for answers and sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. He’s a snarky dude with an attitude and smile to match.
Traveling the world gives you a bigger perspective. You stop seeing things they way you normally would. All you can see when you’re standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean is the big picture. And trust me kid, it’s a picture worth seeing.
My name is Gabriel Novak. Starting a month ago and for the next year, I'm on 24 hour house arrest. Turns out that the government doesn't take too kindly to civilians hacking into their databases. I spent my high school years being an asshole of a student, my college years decidedly screwing up every opportunity handed to me, and traveled across the world whenever the urge hit me as an adult. I picked up a few tricks here and there, met a lot of people, ate a lot of food- it was great. But curiosity killed the cat, it turns out. I buried myself into deep web mythologies and epic conspiracy theories, as one does when one has too much time on their hands, and I just couldn't help myself. I put time and effort into learning how to hack, if only to further my insatiable desire to learn about my current obsession. One thing led to another and suddenly I found myself face down on the floor of a friend's house with someone's knee in my back as they slapped some cuffs on me. Court? Not fun. Jail? Not fun. You know what was the least fun? My dad, Mister LAPD, Officer Of The Law, cooperating every step of the way. His emotions throughout the ordeal fell between pure enjoyment and mild indifference, which is just about par for the course. My half sister, Lex, was by my side through it all. She was always in my corner, even if I was too stupid to realize it.

Lex is the non believer to Gabriel’s over the top belief. She tends to be the voice of reason and, compared to Gabriel’s relaxed approach to life, follows her own plan of action. She starts the story off as a big worrier, but goes through a few life changes that make her a warrior and a leader.
Peace is achievable. Destruction shouldn’t be our only option. We’re doing this to save lives, to shine light in the dark, not to hurt them. If I have to keep finding the light, then so do you. We can do this. Together.
There’s nothing wrong with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Melo is a quiet, peaceful guy who tends to keep to himself. Lex and Gabriel have powerful and loud personalities compared to Melo, and he’s content with that. But inside his stillness, he has a strength and power that grows with every episode. ***is Mexican-American and code switches between English and Spanish, fluent in Spanish is a plus***
I’ve been hurt, beat down, used, and thrown away. Whatever you’re gonna throw at me, I can promise you I can take it. And these days? I give as good as I fucking get.
Did you ever think about what you’re doing to your sister? Oh no-that’s right. Half sister. Because the distinction matters so much.... after everything she’s done for you and this is how you pay her back? Look, I’m not one to get in the middle of you guys and your fights, but if you were anyone else? I’d knock your fucking teeth in. Mejor que vigiles tu espalda.

Kendra is an extremely powerful witch (introduced in episode 5 of season 1) thats determined to stay neutral in the middle of a war- until she meets her old friends daughter and is forced to become an active participant in the story. She is more quiet, does have a SLIGHT Nigerian accent (was originally born in Nigeria, has since lived around the world and her accent has faded over the course of 100 years). She always has a slight hint of anger and annoyance underneath her tone.
I never thought I would know what it’s like to be free again. I don’t even know what to do with myself anymore. My purpose was always someone else’s cause, and now...I feel like a solider without instruction, standing around and kicking the dirt underneath my feet. How do I get back to who I used to be? How do I learn to be me again?
I may have given you your wings, but you always had it in you to fly. You think you’re just a theology student, but you’re so much more. Your mother was a powerful hybrid, and now you’re more powerful then her. You were born to be our leader. It’s your destiny.

Audrey is the youngest character on the show as well as the most boisterous personality. Her disability doesn’t slow her down at all and later is actually the source of her power born deep within her. She is a direct descendant of Kendra and is also Nigerian, but doesn’t have an accent and is completely Americanized (utilizes AAVE most often, so fluency in such is a plus).
I may be blind, but I’m not stupid. I know what I’m getting myself into, I know the possible consequences. I know what I can lose. But isn’t it worth it? I always knew I was meant for something bigger, something meaningful. This is my chance. I’m going to take it whether you like it or not.

Elliott is a demon who fools our main characters into thinking she’s on their side so that she can infiltrate them from the inside and separate Gabriel from the pack because of her own ulterior motive. Big picture, she gets a great arc and a lot of character development. She ends up playing a big part in the resolution to the story.
You DESTROYED me! You took away EVERYTHING that made me who I am! And no I have you here tied up in a bow like a present waiting to be unwrapped. And now you can’t have the DECENCY to REMEMBER. WHO. I. AM? I wanted The Arch Angel Gabriel and all I got was you? You’re nothing but a pathetic useless human. I’ll put you out of your misery soon enough.

Anael is an angel who always followed orders until two of her friends (Lex and Gabriel) fell to Earth and became human. After they fell the arch angels tightened their reign on Heaven to keep the other angels in line, but Anael (ever the curious one) kept an eye out of her now human friends. When they finally called out of her for help, she came and replenished their memories of Heaven to restore them to their full abilities.
Good things happen. Love is real. We will be okay.
I’m either a tool or a weapon and I’ve always been treated as such. I was never given the chance to be anything more then that, or anything less. The only thing that mattered was The Word and Heaven help me if you decided to question it. I’m tired of living up to other people’s expectations. I just want to be me.
