Mass Effect Musical/Hamilton
Project Overview
Hello everyone! This is going to be a big project so we are gonna need some dedicated people! Me and a few others are working together currently to create a Mass Effect Version of Hamilton! We are currently in the planning stages of deciding where songs go and will son be working on lyrics but we wanted to go a head and get a start on characters and casting. As it states in the title this is a musical so a major requirement is the ability to sing and understand music. The next is mic quality. It doesn't have to be perfect but little background noise is preferable.
Moving on to the story. The musical will be split up into 3 acts. Those acts are none other than the first, second and third games and characters will appear in the order of said games. There will be quite a few but they will range from singing and speaking to merely speaking and singing as a part of the chorus. For those that wish to audition but dont want to audition for any of the parts there will be chorus auditions on here as well. We are going with the Male Paragon Shep route with romanced Kaidan Alenko so bare in mind if you audition for those characters since some people might not be the most comfortable. There will also be a few characters that mainly stick to chorus but have major speaking parts and or dont show up until later games. I will go a head and list them.

When you audition a main thing needed is to state your voice range. You will also need discord ad maybe skype. Discord will be the main source of communication. Also if you are casted you cant just fall off the face of the earth. This is a fun project and I understand that people will have real life things come up but letting us know when you need an extension or if you cant do the project is a major thing. So we need dedicated people wanting to put the time and effort into the project as well!

Shepard is named the first human Spectre by the Citadel Council, and given command of the SSV Normandy and its crew to complete their mission. On their first assignment, Shepard is affected by a Prothean artifact that grants them insight on the Reapers, making them the key entity to help protect the species of the Milky Way from being wiped out by the Reapers. This is a role that involves a lot of acting and singing. He has a deeper speaking voice but I would say his singing voice should be between a tenor and baritone.

Kaidan serves aboard the Normandy from the start of the first game and is part of Shepard's first squad. As with Ashley, Kaidan may die depending on the player's choice. If Kaidan survives, he returns in both Mass Effect 2 and 3, after promotions within the Navy, and serves as part of Shepard's squad. We will be doing the Mshepard romance with Kaidan as well. His voice I would say is between tenor and baritone.

Garrus is initially a C-Sec officer who joins up with Shepard to escape from all the "red tape" in his job but becomes a vigilante under the alias Archangel on Omega in Mass Effect 2 before his squad is killed. In Mass Effect 3 he leads a "Reapers task force" for the Turians. I would say he leans more towards a tenor voice but a baritone could work as well.

Liara T'Soni is an asari that joins Shepard's squad in the first game and appears in 2 and 3. She is one of the experts on Prothean history and technology. Her voice range I believe leans more towards a higher soprano but could possible be done by a mezzo.

Tali'Zorah nar Rayya is a quarian and a member of Commander Shepard's squad. She is the daughter of Rael'Zorah, a member of the Admiralty Board. Though young, Tali is a mechanical genius. In 2183, she is on her Pilgrimage, the rite of passage to prove her worth and bring something of value back to her people aboard the Migrant Fleet. In 2185, having completed her Pilgrimage, Tali has been entrusted with leading an important research mission for the Admiralty Board. I would say her voice could lean towards more of a soprano to a mezzo. If youa re able to do the voice effect as well bonus points.

A famous bounty hunter and mercenary, Wrex is among the last of the krogan Battle Masters. They are rare individuals who can combine biotic abilities with advanced weaponry and tactics. Wrex quickly gained fame for his battle powers and became a leader of one of the smaller Urdnot tribes at a very young age. To date, Wrex is the youngest krogan to be granted the honor in 1,000 years. Following the krogan genophage, Wrex turned his back on his people when his father, a krogan warlord who wanted to resume the war, betrayed and attempted to kill him after a feigned attempt at reconciliation. Wrex escaped, though not before taking his father's life in retaliation. During the past three centuries, Wrex has worked as a bodyguard, mercenary, soldier and a bounty hunter. He has a very deep voice I would say leaning more towards Base, maybe a Baritone that can go low enough.

Miranda Lawson is an officer of the pro-human group Cerberus, first appearing in Mass Effect Galaxy and then serving as a squadmate in Mass Effect 2. In addition to these, the character also makes an appearance in the Mass Effect: Redemption comic series and in Mass Effect 3 (provided the player does not import a save where she dies). She is revealed to have been genetically designed by her father to be perfect and ran away from home to join Cerberus. Id say her voice leans more towards an Alto or Mezzo voice.

Jacob Taylor is a human biotic and a former Alliance Marine under the command of Major Derek Izunami. He resigned after surviving the geth attack on Eden Prime. He is also part of Commander Shepard's squad during the suicide mission.Jacob is a highly experienced fighter, and is skilled in the use of weapons and biotics. He works professionally alongside Miranda Lawson, who functions as his informant and later as his superior officer. He will mainly be apart of the chorus with a few solo lines here and there. I would say his voice leans more towards a baritone. Low but not to low.

Mordin Solus is a salarian geneticist, professor, and a former operative of the Special Tasks Group, where he performed reconnaissance and participated in the modification of the genophage. In 2185, he is recruited by Commander Shepard to assist in a high-risk mission against the Collectors. Mordin has a moral character best described as consequentialistic, believing the ends justify the means, though he dislikes taking life without good cause. His actions are often guided by an impersonal logic, refusing to let his conscience, personal, and emotional connections cloud his judgment of what he believes is truly best in the big picture. Though he is affable, quick-talking and friendly, Mordin bears physical scars of his time in the STG and is still handling the consequences of his past. I would say his voice is more of a Tenor than anything else.

Jack, also known as Subject Zero, is a notorious criminal whose crimes include piracy, kidnapping, vandalism and murder. She is also a biotic, possibly one of the most powerful human biotics alive, and is considered so dangerous that she was kept in cryogenic stasis after she was caught. This part leans more towards chorus parts but has several lines. I say her voice leans more towards Alto.

Grunt is a genetically engineered krogan super soldier. Bred and educated in a tank, he was intended to exemplify the best traits of the krogan, and help reinvigorate his species. In the meantime, he fights alongside Commander Shepard to satisfy his natural desire for violence. Much like wrex his voice leans more towards the Bass kind of voice.

Samara is a nearly thousand-year-old asari justicar, a member of an ancient monastic order following a strict honor code. Though she is skilled with weapons, Samara usually relies on her powerful biotic abilities. Justicars rarely leave asari space, but Samara's pursuit of justice has brought her to Illium. I wold say here voice would lean more towards mezzo or a higher alto.

Legion is the name taken by the gestalt consciousness formed by 1,183 geth programs inhabiting a unique geth "mobile platform". With Legions voice I would say a tenor to a baritone could fit. If you are able to do the voice effect as well that would be even better.

Flight Lieutenant Jeff "Joker" Moreau is the pilot of the SSV Normandy. Joker is an excellent pilot and confident to the point of arrogance, wasting no time in pointing out his prowess to others. He's quick to ensure everyone knows his many accomplishments and commendations were all earned, and not due to charity for his medical problems. I would say his voice leas more towards a baritone.

The Enhanced Defense Intelligence, or EDI (pronounced 'Eee-Dee' [ˈiːdiː]), is an AI created by Cerberus and installed aboard the Normandy SR-2. She is represented visually by a holographic blue sphere and aurally with a feminine voice at various terminals throughout the ship where she can provide basic information about the Normandy and Cerberus. Her voice would lean more towards soprao and mezzo.

The Illusive Man is the elusive, secretive, and well informed leader of Cerberus. He has close-cropped silver-grey hair with "steely blue" eyes which appear to be prosthetic. The Illusive Man's real name and his life before Cerberus are both long forgotten by most. For years, the Illusive Man has been using Cerberus and his immense network of contacts to achieve his goal - that of making humanity ascendant above all other races. He is described as having the best and worst traits of humanity rolled into one man. His voice would lean more towards a baritone or bass.

Aria T'Loak is the de facto ruler of Omega, the nominal capital of the Terminus Systems. Also known as the "Pirate Queen" of Omega, Aria is fiercely possessive of the space station and will do anything to protect it and maintain her dominance. Her voice leans more towards mezzo. Who ever does her will also be doing the asari councilor.

Ashley Williams is a human soldier who served in the Systems Alliance as a Gunnery Chief in the 2nd Frontier Division on Eden Prime, and was later assigned to Commander Shepard's squad after the geth attack on Eden Prime. She is a potential romancepartner for a male Shepard. Her voice is more of a mezzo or alto.

Saren Arterius, born 2139, is the longest serving turian member of the Spectres, the elite operatives answering directly to the Citadel Council. For 24 years, he has been an agent of the Council's will, a zealous defender of galactic stability in the unsettled border region of the Skyllian Verge. More of a baritone voice. Will also be voicing the turian councilor.

Captain David Edward Anderson is a human war hero and the original captain of the SSV Normandy. Anderson was born on June 8, 2137 to Ursula and Paul Anderson, a nurse and flight mechanic respectively, in the city of London on Earth, and was the last of three children by his parents' second marriage. Anderson is one of the Alliance's most decorated special forces operatives, and the first to graduate from the N7 marine program at Arcturus Station, serving with honor in the First Contact War. His voice is between a bass and baritone.

Ambassador Donnel Udina is a human diplomat stationed at the Citadel. He is humanity's most recent ambassador to the Councilraces (the first was Anita Goyle) and is determined to advance human interests wherever possible. Udina is mistrustful or at least apprehensive of Commander Shepard, particularly after the Commander's induction into the Spectres. Udina often requires solid, irrefutable proof of anything before acting, a trait which often conflicts with Shepard's goals. Udina plays the political game, refusing to rock the boat if it might endanger his standing—and therefore humanity's—with the Citadel Council. More of a baritone as udina and a tenor as the salarian councilor.

Lieutenant James Vega is a human Systems Alliance Marine and a member of Commander Shepard's squad in 2186. While Vega is an experienced soldier, he is unfamiliar with the seedy underbelly and political workings of the galaxy. His voice leans more towards a baritone.

Hackett was born in Buenos Aires in 2134. When his mother died in 2146, he was placed in the Advanced Training Academy for Juveniles, where his affinity for science and leadership quickly became evident. Hackett enlisted in 2152, volunteering for high-risk missions to colonize space beyond the Sol Relay. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2156 and participated in the First Contact War the following year. His rare ascent from enlisted man to admiral remains an Alliance legend. His role is more speakig than anything but for chorus purposes I would say a bass or baritone.
Shepard, let me tell you something that I've learned the hard way. You can pay a soldier to fire a gun. You can pay him to charge the enemy and take a hill. But you can't pay him to believe.
When you went up against Sovereign, there was no good reason to believe you'd win. But your crew didn't seem to care. They went along anyway. Your trip through the Omega-4 relay? That was a suicide mission if there ever was one. Yet there your crew was, standing beside you, proud to serve. Why? Because they believed in YOU, their leader! That's what I need now. Where we're taking them is likely to get pretty hairy, and I know you're the one who will get us to the other side.
Matriarch Benezia is a very powerful asari biotic and spiritual leader among her people. She is also Liara T'Soni's mother, though the two have not spoken in years. When the evidence that proved Saren Arterius was responsible for the Eden Prime attack also proved Benezia was working alongside him, it surprised those who knew her, as Benezia's actions seemed to be completely out of character. Her voice would be a mezzo or an alto. She has more of a standing in the first part but will mainly stick of chorus bits in the end.

Thane Krios is a drell assassin, rumored to be the most skilled in the galaxy. Unlike most assassins, who prefer to snipe their targets from a distance, Thane prefers to get up close and kill his target personally, utilizing a mixture of stealth, firearms, hand-to-hand combat and biotic abilities.
Despite his profession, Thane is a deeply spiritual man who prays for success in his missions. Thane asks for forgiveness after each kill, even going as far as to ignore those in his immediate vicinity until he is finished doing so. His voice leans more towards a tenor or baritone.
