Project Overview
Magic Is Real is a series where a girl practicing to be a trick magician, Lorelei, suddenly looses her two best friends, Natalie and Scott, as they decide they don’t like her anymore.
Suddenly, Lorelei begins to see two spirits, who introduce themselves as Nebula, a “Whisper,” and Shen, a “Screamer.” They show her the true meaning of magic, friends, love, and everything in between.
However, the two wisps were not supposed to reveal the secrets of the afterlife. In fact, the two kings of the Underworld, Zach and Cody, send many Flitters after the two to bring them back and give them a “proper punishment.” Can Lorelei and her friends convince the tyrannical Afterlife Authorities to let them stay, or will her only friends be snatched away from again?

Lorelei is the female protagonist of Magic Is Real, a 15 year old girl training to be a magician for children’s birthday parties, who suddenly is ghosted by her best friends and begins to see ghosts.
“Woah, is that- REAL MAGIC?”
“I came to kick some flitter ass and learn a spell, and I’ve already learned to make fire.”
“Come fight me like a man- well, I’m one to talk.”
Shen is the male protagonist of Magic Is Real, a warrior of murderer decent. Because of this and his typical anger issues, Shen died a Screamer, yet tends to follow the ways of the Whisper.

Cody is one of the kings of the underworld who sends the authorities to capture Nebula and Shen and bring them back to the afterlife to receive punishment. He is the tougher of the two, similar to Yellow Diamond.
“Guards, release the Flitters!”
“I’m not letting a couple of big mouth bitches spill the secrets of what comes after death.”
“You don’t want me to go to bed tonight, it will hurt. Give me a moment, honey.”

Naru is a rebellious Flitter that disobeyed Cory and disguised herself as a human to attempt to join Lorelei due to a dream of being in power.

Aisha is the best friend of Lorelei once she returns to school occasionally, and is Lorelei’s confidant in her adventures. However, she refuses to join due to her high regard for the Islam religion.

Natalie is Lorelei’s ex-best friend who intends on dropping her to single out and manipulate their other friend, Scott. She is an absolute BITCH and should not get redemption, and acts as a b-plot antagonist.

“Oh, I’m sure they all LOVE you, don’t they?!? You’re just always PERFECT, aren’t you?”
Scott is Lorelei’s other ex-friend, taken away from her by Natalie to be controlled. Scott deeply regrets this decision, and is always trying to reconcile with Lorelei.

Mildred is Lorelei’s mom. She is a single, working mom as a secretary to a CEO of a box factory. She is constantly away, and when she is home, she’s usually asleep, giving Lorelei a chance to leave.
