Lyricist Needed for Radio Show Theme

Project Overview

I need replacement lyrics for "Puddin Time" by Primus. The chorus should say 'story time' in place of 'puddin time' and closely reflect the nature of my children's radio show. It is called Bedtime Stories and features fairytales. You do not need to re-write the whole thing. The Explainer Video will direct you to the music video and here are the original lyrics:

"Pudding Time" by Primus

You can have a lolly pop a candy bar a jelly bean.

I'll buy you a rainbow to hang above your door.

It's pudding time.

Laughter is a sweet

You can't put a price on.

When laughter's all gone

Daddy won't buy you more.

It's pudding time.

It's pudding time children.

Money money money

To buy you things.

Daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the kings horses and all the kings men

Couldn't put Humpty together again.

San Francisco bay the

Striped bass are dying.

But you're gonna get

That brand new bike

Oh joy

It's pudding time

It's pudding time children.

Winner gets several Starbuck's gift cards. I think

I have $50 worth. To make it more interesting, I'll throw in an extra surprise, too. Your work will be credited to you online and winning this contest would certainly set you apart on a resume or college application because it is for a public service broadcast. Please e-mail your contest submission to [redacted].

  • And the Winners Are...

We could not choose between the submissions we received from PrincessDevon302 and Sky Schmidt (I think her username is sky is here), so we are splitting the prizes between them. Both will receive $25 worth of Starbucks gift cards and one of two separate surprises from ThinkGeek. Because we loved BlackWidow's singing voice, we awarded her w/a segment, at the end of the show, to send our listeners off to sleep w/a lullaby. Thank you to all who entered.

  • Time Is Ticking

Today is your last day to submit an entry !!

  • Questions and Answers

Someone requested more info on the show, Bedtime Story. She specifically asked, "What kind of fairytales? Specific well-known fairytales or generic spin offs of those? What is the main goal, message, and/or purpose of your show? Do you need a singer?"

My response was to the effect of, "The fairytales we will be featuring are freely available in the public domain, often found on Project Gutenberg. The stories are in their unadulterated form (they include gory elements). I suggest you focus on general fairytale elements; princesses, princes, castles, dragons, fairy godmothers, evil stepmothers, witches, wolves, etc. and on the magical journey of imagination that books bring you on. The show was originally conceived of as a community service; particularly, to provide children who are blind, dyslexic, or whose parents are likewise disabled or illiterate, w/a bedtime story. A singer would be nice !! There are many more opportunities available on this show to help make this mission of manifest, if you are interested. I hope to gather together a regular cast of dedicated voice actors. I also want to give storytellers an opportunity to get themselves heard and artists a forum in which to express their fondness for fairytales - I am thinking images for the website and printable coloring book pages that correspond to each episode.
