On Monday, December 30, the following roles will close: Amber, Nathan, Lola, Millie, Dewey, Ellis, Amber's Mom.
ARTISTS AND BUILDERS ARE NEEDED MOST!!
This series is mainly a silly play on your typical Shojo romance. It's mostly light-hearted, so I encourage improving your lines and such!!
Plot:
Taking place in Brewston, a small town in the deep south, the story follows Ruby, a young girl in her senior year of high school. For years, she's been pining over her “rival”, Amber, who rivals her test grades. They've been in an all-out grade war, each trying to get better scores than the other. With the end of high school approaching, Ruby is determined to finally ask Amber on a date. However, she keeps getting interrupted. Her biggest obstacles? The two most popular guys in school are both trying to date her, despite both being very awkward with their feelings. As Ruby stumbles through her own feelings and issues, she encounters problem after problem. However, she's absolutely determined to ask her rival out. How could this ever end badly?

Hello everyone! Thank you all so so much for all the auditions! Tomorrow I will be going over each and every one with my team to make our final decisions, and will be reaching out to our picks through discord. If you don't have your discord username listed on your audition (this includes in the comments), there is a high chance we won't reach out, so please double check that your discord is listed!! If you would like to be in this project outside of the main roles, I'd suggest auditioning for the background/minor roles that are still open! We still need artists and builders, so if you can do either of those things, or know someone who can, don't hesitate to apply or recommend someone to! I may be opening up an animator position as well, so if you're interested, message me on here or on discord.

Ruby is an 18 year old bisexual. She's short-tempered, confident, and a bit rude with her speech. She doesn't like beating around the bush, but doesn't fully understand that she's being pursued, as she's busy trying to ask her crush out.
(rambling) Yeah, yeah, well.. I was hoping,, you'd want to .. go and get lunch,, with me.. and Lola!! We always get lunch at the diner,, and Nathan and Callem started joining too, so obviously I would invite you cause you're a part of the friend group too, you just usually eat lunch with your homeroom dude,, and I just wanted to ask since—- (softly) I want to include you more.
(Laughing) yeah, well Archie lets us bring our school lunch cause we're regulars, and he knows the food is terrible. Plus, the milkshakes are good!

Ruby’s love interest, 18, lesbian. Gentle but assertive, Amber is seen as the “perfect girl” by her classmates. That is, until she's around Ruby. They have a heated rivalry, started by a fierce desire to get the highest test scores, which started in Elementary School. They're a classic rivals to lovers trope, with Ruby only really knowing how to be around Amber through this rivalry.

supporting character, 17, straight. Bubbly and a bit air-headed, Lola is Ruby’s best friend since childhood. She doesn't really realize when she's being bullied or taken advantage of, so Ruby stands up for her when it happens. Lola, however, does know what's happening. She just doesn't know how to say no to people, she comes off as being unaware. Lola is a huge horror enthusiast, and is a fan of all things creepy. She also loves bugs, snakes, and rodents, and has a pet tarantula. She's a very hyper-femme kind of girl, often wearing pink, girly outfits with bows and an overall cutesy aesthetic.
Voice type: Think Kawaii-chan, but without the weird infantalization and stuff.

She was extra attentive to him, as he was a transfer student, he misunderstood the meaning and has been pining over her since. After hearing that his classmate was making moves on her, he finally took the leap.

Not knowing that Ruby prefers girls, she starts trying to sabotage her, but eventually just settles with sticking by Ruby to “keep her in check”. This eventually evolved into an actual friendship.

He goes back to school mid-season, and does all his antagonist stuff. Lies to everyone, saying Ruby bullied him relentlessly in middle school, and forced him to move schools, and that he was scared to come back to school after seeing that he transferred into not only her school, but her class as well..
(HIS PERSONALITY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
Voice - when talking with others, Ellis puts on an act, and comes off a timid, shy, and overall very weak. Outside of this, he's very cocky and has a more cold tone, except when talking to Ruby (with some exceptions). He's a master at changing his tone to get the best results.
(sad) Well, she.. isn't that great.. she bullied me everyday back in middle school.. but maybe she's changed!
(timid, scared) I don't want to cause any trouble, just leave me alone!
(cocky/smug) What? I'm just telling them what they want to hear. All of them already hated you, and just wanted a reason to be open about it. Now they have one.
