Project Overview
Little Smiles Daycare is a short psychological horror game made in RPG Maker MZ for the ToastyTime Game Jam.
You play as a janitor assigned to clean up an abandoned daycare rumored to be haunted by the facility’s old mascot , Mr. Smiles.
This is a small, passion driven game meant to deliver a creepy, unsettling atmosphere in a short playtime (~15–30 minutes).
🔔 Update: We’re returning to Little Smiles Daycare with new content! A New Game+ mode is being added, featuring a new animatronic: Nanny Nettle. Designed as the perfect caretaker, Nettle starts out calm and orderly but gradually reveals her darker, corrupted side.
To bring this to life, we are opening a new role for Nanny Nettle’s voice actor. Actors auditioning should be able to deliver both a sweet, motherly “daycare teacher” tone and a terrifying, distorted “demon mode.”
Deadline has been extended to October 1st, 2025 to allow time for new auditions.

The Ex-Teacher is a former employee of Little Smiles Daycare, speaking through found voice logs scattered around the abandoned building.
They thought Mr. Smiles would be good for the kids. We were wrong.

Nanny Nettle is a caretaker animatronic who was built to keep order in the daycare. In her Normal Form, she sounds sweet and polite, like a strict teacher or motherly nanny, warm on the surface, but with an unsettling edge. In her Demon Form, that sweetness breaks down into distortion, shrieks, and harsh, glitchy commands.
(Normal, sweet but firm) No running indoors… we must keep everything neat and tidy.
(Normal, sing songy) Nap time… forever.
(Demon Form, distorted) QUIET. QUIET. QUIET.
A jittery staff member who’s clearly afraid of Nanny Nettle. Tone is anxious, shaky, like they’re recording this alone after hours. Natural, not cartoony. Please record two quick takes per line: (A) normal anxious, (B) hushed/whisper as if hiding. No effects—we’ll handle processing. ~30–45s total is perfect.
