About:
Library of the Unwritten is an original anime‑style concept set in a surreal library where unwritten stories live as wandering souls.
The teaser will follow Ori, a curious young girl who stumbles into this strange realm, meets her sly companion Ink (a floating cat with a fountain‑pen tail), and encounters the enigmatic entities that inhabit the library — including Page, a towering figure made of spiraling paper, and Mister K, the librarian who knows more than he says.
Looming in the distance is The Eraser, a hunter figure who tracks and “erases” lost stories… and now, he has his eye on Ori.
This 60-90 second teaser will establish the tone, style, and world for potential pitching and expansion into a larger series. Not all is as it seems in this library of the unwritten.
Visual Tone - Direction:
Inspiration: A mix of Ghibli’s warmth and Paprika’s surreal dream logic, with a dash of Mononoke’s ink‑wash aesthetic.
Style Goal: Stylized limited animation — minimal movement most of the time, with bold, surreal moments (ink splatters forming shapes, shelves bending, paper unraveling).
Mood: Whimsical, mysterious, and slightly haunting — a “dreamlike storybook” come alive. Paranoia Agent is also a big inspiration.
Project Goals:
Create a professional‑quality teaser that:
Introduces key characters (Ori, Ink, Page, Mister K, The Eraser)
Establishes the Library’s surreal world
Provides a proof of concept for future pitching, crowdfunding, or festival submissions
Keep the style consistent and affordable — using a hybrid of limited animation + stylized effects.
Building of team roles:
We’ll be filling roles in phases. Roles may be unpaid or token paid (depending on stage), but all contributors will be credited and able to showcase their work in their portfolios.

Credits & Rights:
All contributors will receive on‑screen credit in the teaser (e.g., “Animation by [Name]”).
All contributors will receive portfolio rights to showcase their work.
The project is currently non‑commercial, but if it expands (e.g., Kickstarter, studio pitch), team members will be given first consideration for ongoing work.
This project is meant to be collaborative and exciting — we’re building something unique and surreal together.
