Dearest Mother, I can hardly belive that it's been a 4th night since I baded you all farewell. I miss you terribly but my heart waits with hungry anticipation with life that awaits for me and father in the colonies. I look forward to settling in dr.franklins home in Philadelphia, and long to see Father again when he returns from the wilderness. I'm glad to have a brave explorer like my father and I wear his locket always. We will all be united on the new land he has discovered. I shall be true to you always.
