Let's Read Homestuck Voices
Project Overview
Just as the title states, this will be an open voice acting call for a reading of the popular webcomic Homestuck by Andrew Hussie!
To start out we will only be reading the first three acts, to see how much interest we can generate and from there it will be decided if we will continue.
This call will only cover the Narrator, Beta kids, trolls, guardians, sprites, and Doc Scratch! So please, don't worry, if all goes well, there will be another one for more characters in the near future.
The recording portion of the project would start at the begining of 2016 and the first video release would (hopefully) be around mid-February and we would progress from there.
Requirements:
A decent microphone (Please no horribly scratchy or noisy audio)
NOTE: I do have a pretty good audio cleaning program so if you are worried contact me on skype (kawaiiakuchibi) and ask me if I can clean it up for you.
Adequate knowledge about inflection (Unless the character is supposed to be monotone)
A good sense of humor!
I love to joke and be a little silly with the people I work with, so please realize that this project is meant to be fun and that, though there will be serious moments, it's okay to lighten up a little and enjoy what you are doing!
BEING COMFORTABLE WITH THE USE OF PROFANITY!!!!
Homestuck contains a lot of crude humor, cursing, and gore!
Skype is mandatory as cast meetings will be held there.
NOTE: If there is a sizeable time difference between us and you can't make it to the cast meeting, or if for any reason you can't for that matter, I will need your e-mail so that I can contact you if there are any major delays or things that need to be brought to your attention.

Nepeta is a friendly and sweet troll who loves the world of fantasy and roleplay. She often refers to herself in the third person and tries to get others to play along. She is playful and a bit michevious to say the least, and boy does she like shipping. Her voice is playful and she likes to use cat puns in her sentences as well as roll some of her letters to make them sound like purring. I also see her as having a light Russian accent since she reminds me of a breed of cat called a Russian Bleu

The narrator must be a charismatic and fun voice to listen to. I don't have a set vocal range or gender for this character as they are the voice narrating the comic and were thus never given a canon gender.
Please be warned that this character will have A LOT of lines, so if you don't think you can handle the heavy workload I would not advise auditioning.
A young man stands in his bedroom. It just so happens that today, the 13th of April, 2009, is this young man's birthday. Though it was thirteen years ago he was given life, it is only today he will be given a name!
For Jade I would like someone who is mostly calm and sweet but is not afraid to lash out at times. She doesn't always articulate perfectly but tries to make up for it with a sweet voice and kind words.

Jaspersprite is a gentalmanly sort of cat-squid as he is tecnically royalty. I also think he would have a bit of an english accent. This role is not a big one, but for the begining it is important as he does have lots of lines!

Karkat is an angry troll with a huge temper problem. He tends to yell everything he says rather than simply talking. His voice is a little raspy from all of the yelling. He can be sweet but hides it under his anger.

Terezi is a mischevious prankster with a bit of a sadistic streak. She loves justice and enjoys seeing it served to her liking, even if it is at the expense of others. She likes to cause trouble for the humans. Her voice is a little raspy and she tends to speak on the louder side so that everyone can hear her.

Feferi is a sweet and kind troll who tries to keep everyone's best interests at heart. She is bubbly and happy most of the time, but does have her moments where she can be realtively mean, though those are few and far between.

Aradia is, for the most part, a bit sarcastic and tends to have a dark sense of humor. She can be a bit hollow at the points in time where she is dead (the 0's are there to show the difference) but is by no means monotone!

Kanaya is a motherly and proper troll who likes to look after the others as much as she can. Her voice should reflect this. She has a mild English accent but nothing too heavy. She is, again, very proper and likes to articulate well. Despite these things she is not monotonous at all, she just doesn't show too much emotion unless she has reason to.

Eridan is secluded, rude, whiny, and a little self-centered. These things show in the way he talks and acts. I would like someone who can convey a feeling of desperately craving attention while still seeming arrogant.

Equius is strong and serious. He has a very specific sense of social position and speaks to his superiors with respect, while speaking down to those lower in rank, with the exception of Nepeta. He tends to seem nervous when he speaks and is a little socially awkward.
