New Characters Added
New characters auditions were just placed up, I will change the deadline a little bit later tonight, but happy auditioning in the mean time ^-^.
Legend Book 1 (MALES NEEDED)
Project Overview
Really quickly this is where I got my idea from. I have a friend who recently lost her sight from a brain injury that damaged her optic nerve, causing her now to be legally blind. She loved to read books, something she now finds a challenge. But it is because of her that I thought of this idea. I want to make a channel that makes books easier for people with reading disabilities (mental, blind, etc) to be able to experience books in the way we can. Through this creative way, I hope to make books fun for those who find reading difficult.
Okay, that is enough about me and my idea, here is what we are going to be doing:
This book was picked out by my friend as the first book to do. This book is called Legend and it was written by Marie Lu. It is a story that follows two young characters, June and Day in a world set far into the future. June is the Republic's prodigy and Day is a wanted criminal, after the death of her brother June is sent out to look for Day and finally put an end to his rain. But what if he isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be? And long story short, everything June has been taught is a lie, and she ends up falling for Day. I need two things for this project and I will split this up so if you are only interested in doing one or the other, you can skip to either part.
Editors:
Yes, I will need voice editors for this project, and if you get chosen this won't be a one time job (unless you want it to be) like I said I plan on making this a big channel so I will probably have a couple different projects going on at once. After this project, if I feel like I can trust you I will assign you to your own project to take care of recordings, and edit the voices. I will only start you out though with just doing half of this, we will be splitting the work just so I can see if you are reliable and able to figure your way properly around the program in placing things correctly. After this project though, if I feel you are very reliable, I will give you a specific project that you can work on yourself, I will handle just the script and some of the casting (you, of course, will also have a say). And you can basically run your own, that way I can have two projects working at once.
What I need from you to be considered for Editor:
~You need to know how to run Audacity or any other popular editing software,
~There will be an audition open just for you, please make it public to be considered, in the comments link a piece of work that you've edited, or if you don't have a like, please place it in the last file that I'll leave open for you to use.

~I might be choosing more than one person, so if you see someone already has a comment, still feel free to leave a submission, I need all the help I can get. ^-^
Actors/Actresses:
There are TWO narrators in this book and they are the characters Day and June, I need those people to be people who will be reliable, and have their parts in on time, this will be a long project for you seeing as they are the main characters and they are in the 3 books that I plan on doing. Then we have what I'm going to classify as Extras in the auditions below, they are going to be any part that is minor, they can range from a random Nurse to a character that doesn't have a lot of lines in the first book but comes back to be a main in the second book. That is the way I choose to do it if I think that you will fit one of the more wordier characters in the book, I will ask you to shot me an email, and I will send you some more lines to test you on. For example, if I think that your voice is what I want for a character named Kaede, (the character I was talking about earlier), I will ask you to shot me an email, I'll send you a couple of lines, you send me back what you can do. JUST BECAUSE IT SAYS EXTRA DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS A SMALL PART, it just means I don't know what voice style I want for the said character and am waiting to see what voice I might hear that puts me in mind of that character.
Rules:
~IF YOU TRY OUT FOR A MAIN YOU MUST TRY OUT FOR EXTRA.
~Must be reliable, don't even join if you aren't willing to meet deadlines.
~I will leave a comment on everyone's audition, just so I can take a peak when it's decision time and remember what I like as well as if I didn't like something. If I leave some criticism don't take it too hard, it just makes it easier to quickly choice who I really want when the deadlines up.
Also, this is how the characters are going to be laid out. I will have the two Main characters (and extra) up to 3 days, then I will add the other main characters that don't narrate, then I will wait until the Main (June and Day) has at least 15 auditions each before casting, then I will cast the other (not extras) when they reach 10 (by themselves). The extras I will cast you as I go.
Requirements:
~If you audition for a narrating rule you have to continue acting while narrating, don't make it boring.
~A good mic. (this includes a clear recording with no background noise.)
~A skype, and a Gmail.
~Have to be okay with me asking you to do more lines.
~Be patient if I reach 15 auditions for say Day, and I still don't believe I found the one I'm looking for, don't be in the comments of this group and write "when are we going to know? I think you have enough." Nothing irritates me more than that. Just don't do it, I will cast when I'm ready.
*Also I might be taking a part in this just because it is my first project and I'm really excited about it. It wont probably be a big part so don't really worry to much about it since I probably wont list the character I want.

There will be more characters added tomorrow. Tomorrow you will then have the option to audition as Tess, Commander Jameson, Metias (Might-es), and Thomas. There will be more characters to add later but I haven't gotten far enough in the script to have enough lines for them, so they will be up when I'm done with script one. Deadline will be pushed back tomorrow, so don't fear the end isn't near. ^-^

Little background information, Day is a really smart street kid type person, he has charm to him, he is cunning, and he is very athletic. He has Tess who runs around with him, and he thinks of her like a sister, and worries about her constantly, and June is the one he ends up falling for. He has an older brother John who looks out for Day and tries to keep him out of trouble although that doesn't work to well most of the time. And a younger brother Eden who contracted the plague and will do anything just to get him the medicine he needs.
Voice type: I think he should have a lower type voice, one that still sounds like a teenager, but at the same time is still mature. He should also have a sweet sounding voice to match his charming nature, but also a bit of roughness to his voice because he has had hard life. I know this is a lot to ask, but if anyone can figure out how to do this, they would defiantly make the perfect Day.
*This character will have no cues on how to read because I want to leave it up to you to flow with it, and just be able to take what you can from the words written by the author.
"My mother thinks I’m dead. Obviously I’m not dead, but it’s safer for her to think so. At least twice a month, I see my wanted poster flashed on the Jumbotrons, scattered throughout downtown Los Angeles. It looks out of place up there. Most of the pictures on the screens are of happy things: smiling children standing under a bright blue sky tourists posing before the Golden Gate Ruins, Republic commercials in neon colors. There’s also anti-Colonies propaganda. “The Colonies want our land,” The ads declare. “They want what they don’t have. Don’t let them conquer your homes! Support the cause!”... (There are more lines in here that I had to take out)
In other words, the Republic has no idea what I look like. They don’t seem to know much of anything about me, except that I’m young and that when they run my fingerprints they don’t find a match in their databases. That’s why they hate me, why I’m not the most dangerous criminal in the country, but the most wanted. I make them look bad."
"“If you want to leave in the morning, just go,” I said to her. “You don’t have to wake me up or say good-bye or anything.” My eyelids were growing heavy, but she stayed wide awake, staring unblinkingly at me, even as I fell asleep.
She was still there in the morning. She followed me around as I scavenged in garbage bins, picking out old clothes and edible bits of leftover food. I tried asking her to leave. I even tried shouting at her. An orphan would be a huge inconvenience. But although I made her cry a few times, when I looked over my shoulder she’d still be there, trailing me a short distance away."
"Tess looks around, bewildered. She tries to take a step back into the crowd, but they block her path. When I see Kaede nod her head in Tess’s direction, I rise up from my crouch. This trot’s going to choose Tess.
Oh, hell no. Not while I’m watching. Not if Kaede wants to live.
Suddenly, a voice rings out from below. I pause. Some girl has made her way to the front of the ring, where she stares at Kaede."

She is the prodigy for the Republic, she is smart, rebellious, independent and fierce. She is the sister of Metias, who is her older brother, and was once held a high position. She is loyal to the Republic, and plans on hunting down Day for the death of her brother, that is until she realizes that he isn't the one who did it, and ends up falling in love with him.
Voice: I picture her having a medium voice, something that isn't to low and not to high, it needs to be a confident voice, as well as mature sounding for a teenager, but not old enough to sound like an adult.
*This character will not have any acting cues, because I want to leave it up to you to mess around with the character and have fun with it.
"I grit my teeth and try not to look at Thomas. His words could have come right out of Metias’s mouth. “I’ll look less suspicious than you.” I reply. “People may find it easier to trust me.” We’re standing in front of a window in Batalla Hall’s north wing, watching Commander Jameson at work on the other side of the glass. Today they caught a spy from the Colonies who was secretly spreading propaganda about “how the Republic is lying to you!” Spies are usually shipped out to Denver, but if they’re caught in a big city like Los ANgeles, we take them before the capital does. He’s dangling upside down in the interrogation room right now. Commander Jameson has a pair of scissors in her hand.
"I’m sitting in my dean secretary’s office. Again. On the other side of the frosted glass door, I can see a bunch of my classmates (seniors, all at least four years older than me) hanging around in an attempt to hear what’s going on. Several of them saw me being yanked out of our afternoon drill class (today’s lesson: how to load and unload the XM_621 rifle) by a menacing pair of guards. And whenever that happens the news spreads all over campus.
The Republic’s favorite little prodigy is in trouble again. "
"That’s when the world around me goes silent. (DIRECTOR'S NOTE this is when June finds out about her brother's death)
As if from a great distance, I can see that Thomas is still speaking, gesturing with his hands, pulling me to him for a hug. I hug him back without realizing what I’m doing. I feel nothing. I nod when he steadies me and asks me to do something. To follow him. He keeps an arm around my shoulders. A dog’s wet nose nudges my hand. Ollie follows me out of the apartment, and I tell him to stay close. I lock the door and stuff the key into my pocket and let Thomas guide us through the darkness to the stairs. He’s talking the whole time, but I can’t hear him. I stare straight ahead at the reflective metal decorations lining the stairwell, at the distorted reflections of Ollie and me. "

I will list their name's and a little bit of info about who each line comes from so you have a few ideas.
1.) Kaede: She is a bartender in the first book, but she is also know as a really good Skiz fighter, she is basically a bad-a if you know what I mean. A young adult, barely an adult.
2.) Mrs. Whitaker: She is the head mistress of the school June attends. She is an older women.
3.) A nurse: A nurse that isn't given a name but is helping with the transfer of the meds to the hospital, as well as allows Day admittance into the hospital. A young adult.
(sassy) Just decided to waltz in here and break a few girls’ hearts? Or are you fighting?"
"(annoyed) Let’s get something straight, Ms. Iparis,” She says. “You may think you’re very smart. You may think your perfect grades earn you some sort of special treatment. You may even think you have fans at this school, what with all this nonsense. But I’ve grown incredibly tired of our get-togethers in my office. And believe me, when you graduate and get assigned to whatever post this country chooses for you, your antics won’t impress your superiors there. Do you understand me?""(bored) Waiting room’s on the left. Have a seat."

1.) Soldier: He doesn't have a name, but Day seems to get on his nerves enough to make him have quiet a few lines. I'm going to say he is an older teenage that isn't quiet an adult yet.
2.) Man: Again another person who doesn't have a name, but he helps out both Day and Tess when they were in a pinch and need somewhere to stay for a while. He is an older gentleman.
3.) Chian: He is another character that is like Kaede, where they have quiet a bit of lines, but since I don't have a certain voice type set for them, that I'm putting him in the extras. Anyway he is the person who tried June's older brother. He is an middle age gentle man.

He is June's older brother, although he is killed somewhere within the first 10 chapters he is still brought back time and again because he seems to be the voice of reason for June. And she is constantly thinking about him. He was also once the captain of the patrol that June later gets assigned to.

Voice type: I would go for a lower older sounding (mature) voice. One that has a commanding edge to it.

Tess is Day's little sidekick, she fallows him around everywhere. But she also is there to help heal him when he is hurt, she is a very smart kid, and is very caring.

Thomas was Metias best friend, and after he is gone he helps to make sure that June is taken care off. (I would give you more information but I rather not ruin the book). Basically he isn't what June thought him to be.

She is the commander of the patrol that both June and Metias was in, she is a strict person who rarely shows any emotion. She is also not the person that June thinks she is.
I couldn't find any fan art on her so I can't really show you what she looks like.
Voice: I imagine her with a accent that isn't american, I don't know why but either like a Russian, German, or British accent type. (But you don't have to do that in your audition if your not able to.) She should have a cold sounding voice, and be in the lower range with a very smooth voice.
"(questioningly) I received a full history of your grades there. Perfect scores- you’ve already finished most of your courses in half the number of years, yes? They also say you’re quite a troublemaker. Is that true?"
"(Coldly) I’m going to leave you here for a bit, so you can collect your thoughts. Meet me in two minutes in the third-floor stairwell so you can give the photographers some room.”"
"So. Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll continue with my patrol’s projects. For you, let’s test out your skills with a practice run. Show me how you’d track Day. Maybe you’ll get somewhere. Maybe not.
