Lackadaisy Fandub
Project Overview
This project is a fandub of The Lackadaisy Pilot! Anyone can audition for any character regardless of gender, I'll be paying the most attention to how fitting your interpretation is for the character you audition for. We plan to dub future episodes and maybe even the comic depending on how this turns out! So you must be able to commit.
Me and my best friend wanted to do this for fun but realised we need other people, we already will be voicing Rocky and Freckle so that is why they don't show up here!
Some requirements are the following...
You cannot be under 13
Try having the least amount of background noise possible
Do not edit your audio in any way other than denoising
That's all! I look forward to working with those chosen!

Ivy Pepper is a true jazz baby princess, instead of being occupied by her studies she enjoys working as the nearly legit Little Daisy Café register and being the progeny of a small boot legging group alongside Rocky and Freckle. She's a bubbly, sweet girl with a love for adventure who isn't shy to grab a chance for excitement.
Her voice is pert, cute and high pitched, but with a self-aware, sardonic edge. There's a bit of deliberately disarming con artist beneath the daintiness.

"Ahem! (melodramatic) It's abundantly clear! You forgot us down here."
"Dang it! Rocky! I can't steer!"
"Psh! You have no idea what I went through to get this."
Mordecai is a calculating bootlegger and trigger-man for the Marigold gang and a major antagonist in the series, though he previously worked for the Lackadaisy crew. He's wary of the Marigold gang, and he doesn't really know why he's working for them, he finds his superior, Asa Sweet, very unproffesional and annoying, but he keeps that to himself. He likes his sense of order and does his best to maintain it, being the most serious out of all the characters.
He's from New York, but makes a concerted effort to disguise the accent and generally sticks with a combination of proper and deadpan. The only exception would be in the midst of one of his intermittent episodes of pure vexation - some of the New Yorker might show through if enough of his composure slips.

''No. Especially now that you have alleviated us of our windshield.''
(sigh) ''I'll take care of that. Disable the vehicle.''
''As a matter of fact, yes. But more to the point, one of our suppliers appears to be double dealing. To stragglers from Lackadaisy of all things. They're clumsy and likely to draw attention. With the feds in town-''
She used to be a travelling musician, then she became a widow, and now she's a speakeasy proprietor. Her path to gangsterhood was not exactly planned but she's determined to restore Lackadaisy (once the most lively and popular bastion of music, drink, and vice, now reduced to digging for scraps just to stay afloat) to its former glory regardless. She's a smooth and honey sweet woman with a jaded personality, whether or not she has the ruthlessness to see her restoration plan through remains to be seen. She's driven by an obsession over her late husband, Atlas.
She has a lyrical voice with a distinctly southern accent. Her manner of delivery varies between sad resignation (which contradicts her every action), and condescension that might come across as insulting if it weren't so slathered in honey.

''Rocky, sweetie, you are nothing if not an exhausting, incomprehensible... surprise.''
''Viktor, I know it's an adjustment, but the bartender's got to look like someone the patronage can tell their troubles to.''
''You know what? I'm glad you and your violin are back, honey. We could all use some music about now. I mean, besides J.J''
He's Lackadaisy's not so approachable bartender, he was a triggerman under Atlas until he was injured in a confrontation with Mordecai. Sometime during World War One he was sent to France and fought under the states, it's also where he learned to play chess, in a trench. Viktor is a very reserved, gruff, taciturn and churlish individual who nearly always overcomes obstacles in his path through either fists, passive-aggressive remarks or intimidation. His very stern nature is the reason Rocky - his self-proclaimed protégé - tends to refer to him as the "surly Slovak". One of the only people of the Lackadaisy crew who can somewhat control or even talk down to him without consequence is Ivy, whose stubbornness and assertiveness overwhelms even him.
As for his voice, he flatly says exactly what he means in a low, brusque voice with a heavy Slovakian accent (which is fairly Slavic sounding. Czech is the closest comparison.) Articles like 'a' and 'the' that don't exist in most Slavic languages are frequently left out of his speech. "W" sounds more like "V" and English verb conjugation is still a bit of a black art to him in some cases.

''Yeah. We can call it, eh, "Sunset Rose Cocktail."
(snarl) ''I have very good an idea.''
(low) ''Viktor. Takes. Your bishop.''
He's a hijacker for the Marigold gang and a supporting antagonist in the series. His approach to his job is rather unique, since he treats it like any other type of contact sport, he performs recklessly and loves the thrill, a bit of an adrenaline junkie, if you will. He has a history with boxing, and is Serafine's non-chalant older brother.
He is confident, low and almost lazy sounding in delivery with a distinct Cajun accent. He and his sister should sound like they're accustomed to speaking Cajun French in each other's company, and only deign to speak English for practical purposes when on the job.

(laugh) ''I guess this one is the bait.''
Serafine is a hired gunman and supplier for the Marigold gang and the secondary antagonist in the series. She is also a self-proclaimed voodoo priestess with a fondness for an automatic rifle named Boudreaux. She's a tough, reckless shooter just like her brother Nico (Nicodeme) both of them thrive in the thrill of the hunt.
She has the same accent as Nico, but with some fiery personality behind it. Her voice should sound a little sultry, but not in the typical femme fatale fashion - there should be something a little earthy and crass about it.

(laugh) ''Yeah. C'est bon. The chase is the best part.''
''Aw. You don't like how we play? How 'bout you stop spectatin' and throw in, cher? Or do we have to worry about you getting sentimental about old times?''
''Nico! (cough) Brother of mine, help me up.''
He's a businessman and one of the few remaining patrons of Lackadaisy. Wick is elegant and well-mannered. He tends to appear as a mature man, even if he embodies some eccentric characteristics: such as his passion for rocks and collecting in general. Other businessmen like Edmund Church are not very close to Wick and treat him with distrust. Though he is proud of his vast collection of objects nonetheless, and is willing to present them to other people to earn their friendship.
He has a cheery, guileless manner of speaking, and when talking about rocks, geeky enthusiasm shines through. There's a bit of well-to-do Bostonian in his voice. His accent might sound something like Cary Grant impersonating a Kennedy...but understated.

''Except I'm supposed to be a pillar of the community. Baron of the industry. Upstanding citizen, you know?''
''Uhh. Once I've had a few more illicit beverages, perhaps.''
''Uh, about the dynamite... and the machinery. Can you elaborate?''
He's the leader of a band that performs regularly at Lackadaisy. Zib is generally a tired, blunt man, saying what he means and not caring much about propriety. He has a fondness for cigarettes and alcohol, and a sharp temperature, snapping at people who annoy him. However, he has a passion for music and performing, still choosing to play at the Lackadaisy despite the lack of customers. Often, he will make snide jokes at the other characters' expense, and isn't worried about offending those that are above him.
His voice borders a bit on tired apathy, but livelier when given the opportunity to vent some of his underlying angst with sarcastic flair. There's probably a bit of a nonchalant, Jack Nicholson-esque drawl to his manner of speaking
''Pft. For who? That guy? How about you, Wick? Shall I serenade you personally?''
''Which is to say, (clears throat) it beats radiator fluid.''
''All right, all right. Come on, kid. What do you say we go lighten the mood?''
Asa is a high-level gangster of the Marigold gang, and Mordecai, Nicodeme and Serafine's superior, though Asa himself is responsible to unknown parties, operator of the Marigold Room, night manager of the Maribel Hotel, Atlas' former business associate and a major antagonist in the series. He's a bombastic and crass man, one of the only people that really get under Mordecai's skin.
He has a robust, rather bombastic voice - confident that he's being funny even if no one else is laughing. He sounds like a cross between Jackie Gleason and John Goodman.

''What? Someone mussed your hair? You got some dirt on ya?'' (laugh)
''Yeah, that's a real liability. And I can only stave off so much heat from the higher-ups before this whole city starts smoldering. Oh, those dragons.''
''Let me see if I have this right. Ruthless, infamous hatchetman Mordecai Heller is calling me to ask for a ride?''
If we do the dub I could use some help with editing, that's where you come in! Just show me an example of video editing you've done. This can be anything ranging from tiktok edits to comic editing, it all counts!
