Kowai Kanojo! Proof of Concept
Project Overview
This project is for the development of a short proof of concept teaser for an original anime - style series called Kowai Kanojo! (lovingly known as Kojo! for short). The show tells the story of Protogawa Ishida, a somewhat unassuming 17 year old high school student that falls in love with Violet, a shy and quiet girl who recently moved to town. Things seem pretty normal until Prota accidentally catches Violet in the act of murdering one of their classmates for her adopted demonic father. In his shock, not sure what to do, Prota asks Violet out on a date on the spot... and she accepts. Now Prota has 12 episodes to overcome three major obstacles; Violet's macabre tasks, the police hunting for the town's new killer, and the demonic entity who now sets his sights on him!
The proof of concept is to be used as a means to pitch the show for further development, whether that be via a 3rd party or self funding or kickstarter. Anyone who joins us to work on this first look at the series will be heavily considered for long term collaboration with the show.

Prota is a nice, if not incredibly remarkable, 17 year old kid that's trying his best in this scene to chat with his crush for the first time.
"Yeah, it’s kinda cool right? I thought maybe you’d like some company or something."
PROTA
Sorry about Ogami-san, you’re a friend of his?
VIOLET
Huh? No, why?
PROTA
I saw you drawing him earlier, in your notebook.
VIOLET
You were spying on me?!?
PROTA
No! I- I mean I just looked over at you and couldn’t help but see it. Sorry.
Violet is a naturally sweet and creative girl that has been beat down by her cursed life. She is forced by a demonic entity to murder people. Because of this, she has adopted a somewhat numb and detached personality. Despite this, Prota's awkward yet sweet attempts at conversation were a welcome sound to her lonely ears.
VIOLET
Look, I don’t hate you. You’re not the worst guy in our class. But it’s best you give up this crush you have on me.
PROTA
Whaaaat? Crush? Haha, no way, not me. I just thought you might wanna maybe…
(Come on, just ask her)
VIOLET
… Might want to what?
PROTA
Uh… I…
The bus arrives at Violet’s stop.
Violet lets a small smile come to her face as she stands up.
VIOLET
Well, whatever it was you wanted to ask, I’m glad you didn’t. I might have said yes and I’d hate to do that to you.
PROTA
Sorry about Ogami-san. You’re a friend of his, right?
VIOLET
Huh? No, why?
PROTA

This is an unfair job. I have some character art prepared and storyboards prepared for the proof of concept but I'll be the first to admit that your job would be the most important one for the project. It's a lot of work, animating the short. I'll be completely supportive and there every step of the way to provide any needed guidance from a creative standpoint. That being said of course any sort of individual ideas or artistic liberties on your end would be entirely welcome. I'm looking for a collaborator for this stage of the job.
The pay is bad. If the show moves on from this initial step and further production begins we will reevaluate that figure. If you're interested in this story and would enjoy being part of something then we'd be glad to have you work with us.
