King Horatio: Remaining Roles & Recasting The Main Role!
Project Overview
King Horatio is a silly, medieval audio drama revolving around the King of Meeyarsia trying to keep his kingdom afloat (and himself safe) in the wake of bandits, invading kingdoms, and even magic!
Starting in September of 2025, this series has 5 episodes released, with another 5 episodes written and in production for Series 1. Due to the success the first five episodes of series 1 had (garnering three Spotify 2025 awards; "Marathon Show", "Instant Hit Show", "Talked About Show"), we put into production a second series of 8 total episodes, with 3 episodes to bridge the gap between series 1 and 2, as well as a singular final episode to end the series overall. Unfortunately, when these plans were finalised and at a stage where we couldn't go back on them, the main actor for King Horatio left, leaving us needing to find a replacement.

Speaks in a very over-the-top voice. Think; Matt Berry. He thinks he is literally the best, the bravest, etc, but actually he's a total wimp and a bit accident prone. If you were to poke him in just the wrong way, he'd think he was dying.
Please listen to a section of the episode provided on the project page to allow yourself to sound as close to the original actor as possible. If you are unable to follow it exactly, do not worry, the change of voice will be explained in the show, but please make an effort to sound close to the original.
If you are picked for this role, you will have 16, 30 page episodes to voice, with some requiring only a few lines from you, and others requiring you to be more of a main role. You need to be sure you are available for this amount of episodes before auditioning.
Ad-libbing for this audition (and for the role, in general) is highly encouraged it shows your ability not only as an actor, but as a comic. Just be sure to submit one version of this line unchanged from what is given.

Wait a minute! Wait a *minute*! I did nothing wrong! // I was perfect, in every way, as usual! The scotts were merely intimidated by my dazzling charm. // They were so intimidated that they let loose savage beasts! Ghouls from the depths of hell itself! I tried my best to fight them off, to protect my fellow travellers - single-handedly, I may add - but I was simply outnumbered. Little, old me, versus fifty billion imps and impettes? I had to fall back. For the sake… Of my dear friends.
Oh, you aren’t still sulking are you, Bartholomew?! Right, sharpen my sword! It got blunted in that courageous fight with that huge man. That should take your mind off of things.
She is an imp, a being of hell itself. She talks very cutesy-girly (not valley-girl, though). She looks down on humans. Cares a lot about fashion.

I still have it! Wear it on special occasions! You know, for when I’m like manifesting unholy punishment on villages and stuff. I kept saying the competition should have been held just a few years later in 79AD, in that lovely Italian city; Pompeii. Would’ve given me a great backdrop.

He's a prisoner who was wrongly found guilty and risks being hanged. He is given the chance of freedom to spread the truth through a kingdom brainwashed by a dictator.
