Kimtown (Audio-comedy series)
Project Overview
This is Kimtown, where greed and corruption is the game and anyone who's anyone is playing. This audio comedy series (which is somewhat of a remake of the unaired BBC3 series "Popetown") will take a satirical (but still in good taste) look at the infamous hermit kingdom of North Korea.
General Kai Sin Ton is Kim Jong Il's right hand man. He always tries to do good and to keep the residents of Kimtown (parody of Pyongyang) happy, except that the leader is an irritable man-child with no regard for anyone other than himself. Thus his mission is constantly impeded by the Leader's crazy antics. In this ten-part episodic miniseries, he along with his best friend Ryu will have to overcome many trials to achieve their goal. Like the propaganda, the mythology, the fear of the South and even the Dear Leader himself.
Each cast member must
1) Have a decent quality mic
2) Know that they don't have to use an accent. Although one would be preferred for characters like Kai Sin Ton and Kim Jong Il
3) You must be able to stick with the project for the whole time, If there is a legitamate reason you are unable continue, then we'll figure something out.
4) Be able to yell on camera
5) Have fun with it
NOTE: All of this will be done in good humor. There will be no making fun of the Korean race or Asian stereotypes. Just the crazy system of North Korea and it's totalitarian government.

The complete and undisputable ruler of Kimtown. He is angry, selfish, and worst of all, has the brain of a seven year old. His mission is simple: destroy the rest of the world, keep an iron grip on his people, and simply get whatever he wants when he wants it (ranging from world conquest to the newest action figure on the market). He has no regard for anyone else’s wellbeing and will go out of his way to act like a pest and a spoiled brat.
For the new billboard, I have a simple idea: it's me holding our national flag in one hand and a machine gun in the other as I'm standing triumphantly on the bodies of our enemies while the people throw hundreds of flowers at me and launch fireworks in my honor. And at the same time,a glowing light from above shines down on me symbolizing my greatness. You know, something simple like that. Oh and I want it done by tomorrow.
(Angrily) Just go down there and GET MY WEAPON! I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT! Do you have any idea what I'm like when I'm mad?!?

A dim witted Party official. He/she has been corrupted by his/her seat of power and (along with his/her partner, Ji Wan) always comeup with crazy schemes to get more money or attention. However, his/her slow wit and clumsiness are usually their undoing
Oh don't worry sir. Look, I know that this looks bad and that it seems like there's no way out. (Pause) Well bye!
Wanna hear a joke? Who's amazing, powerful, and knows everything? The Dear Leader! (Hysterical laughter) See? It's funny because it's true!

Kai Sin Ton's optimistic and ditzy best friend. No matter the situation, she always has a smile on her face, whether it's necessary or not. However, this optimistic spirit is also her biggest weakness, as she tends to overlook problems and common senseand just think simple happy thoughts.
I'll be with you in a second, I'm supposed to try the new food rations we give to the people.Hmm.It's like there's a party in my mouth and everyone's invited! Oh. (Groan) But I don't think it's the kind I'd like to be invited to.
Well Sin Ton, you know what they say. (Pause) Well you know what they say so I don't have to say it.

A no-nonsense, highly-intelligent Party official. He/she has been corrupted by his/her seat of power and (along with his/her partner Hoon) is always coming up with crazy schemes to get more money or attention.
We need to be more careful. Otherwise they'll find out your one weakness: that you have so many weaknesses to exploit!
Ah yes, I have it! See, it only took five seconds and I came up with a better plan!

A voice talking over a propaganda video in the beginning of each episode, talking about the nation and foreshadowing the main theme of the episode
Here we see the people of our magnificent nation attending a celebration of the anniversary of the honorable Workers Party. Look how excited they are. The joy just leaps off their faces. And here, the national army gathers around the compound to salute the Dear Leader. The people give their salute to him, expressing their unending gratitude for his hard work and care. For they know that without the Party, they would most likely be disintegrated by invading potato men from the United States, who would surely round up the survivors and force them to work in the acid mines. Every moment of their lives, they are protected and because of this, they owe the Workers Party everything.
The kind-hearted assistant to Kim Jong Il. His goal in life is to make the people of Kimtown happy despite the tyrannical rule of the Workers Party. Although he belongs to the Party and is loyal to the Dear Leader, he will go out of his way to do what he sees as right, even if it means putting his life on the line.At times he can be short tempered, especially when Ryu gets distracted or Kim Jong Il's expresses his childlike behavior.
In order to free the Son family, we need the Dear Leader's computer password. I just hope that it's not "password". (Groan) Well, a little piece of myself just died inside.
(Sarcastically/angrily) Oh yes, great idea Ryu, I've never though of checking everywhere! You know we're only in this mess because you failed to understand the simple concept of using stapler! I can't believe this! I can't find it! It's two hours untile the ceremoney and it's nowhere to be seen!
