Project Overview
🌼 KEYFRAMES IS LOOKING FOR VOICE ACTORS! 📸
Hi there! I'm Chochi, but you can call me Al too!
My team and I are participating in this year's Otome Jam 2023 on itch.io, and we're excited to bring you our project called Keyframes, a visual novel about making interpersonal relationships with the cast whether platonic or romantic! To depict the fun of your college years, the stress of young adult life, and the highs and lows of what it means to meet someone new, that’s what we want to achieve with Keyframes!
Right now, we are searching for volunteers as this demo is an unpaid project, but with our potential Kickstarter idea in mind after Otome Jam, we will hopefully push to have voice talent be funded! Japanese, but is fluent in English; bilingual and doesn’t have an accent.
Laidback, flirty; Percy likes to joke around but he’s also the kind of guy who doesn’t have a lot of strong opinions, mostly going with the flow.
He usually compromises but he isn’t immune to being swept up in Elio’s, his best friend since high school, currents.
Percy prefers to joke but he knows that some jokes might not be taken as one so he makes sure the person he’s talking to is: first, comfortable with him; second, comfortable with his antics; and third, doesn’t mind a little flirtatious wordplay.
VOICE: Low to medium pitch; smooth most of the time and on the occasions it’s not, it curls at the end for that tease. Otherwise, he’s got an indifferent tone.

Hawaiian-Thai but is fluent in English; Polyglot. Doesn’t have an accent, but slips into pidgin occassionally.
Upbeat, friendly, and loud; Elio would be the guy who makes the first decision, who pipes up when there’s a hanging question.
Always looking for a fun time, Elio doesn’t hesitate to lead. But he knows that there are some moments where people don’t need a leader but support.
In this regard, he takes a step back and patiently waits for everyone to catch up to him so that they can all cross that line together.
VOICE: Medium to high pitch or Low to medium pitch; Cute scratch to his voice, lots of emotions. Elio’s usually laughing or speeding in his words.

Swedish and is mostly fluent in English; Polyglot; Swedish accent.
Polite but aloof; Jamie’s got a reputation as the Campus Boyfriend because of his pretty face and generally polite demeanor.
However, he’s got a high wall and rarely lets anyone in. His boundaries are bolded and barbed, and Jamie won’t waste a moment to point it out.
Jamie has a formal manner of speech, evident of the fact that he learned English later in his years.
VOICE: Medium to high pitch; He has a bounce to his voice from his Swedish accent. Has a soothing voice but he can switch to a bite, sarcasm, whenever he wants to.

Nicaraguan but is fluent in English; doesn’t have an accent.
Silly, sweet, but terribly shy and anxious; Cameron’s a blazing one, usually committing to acts before they could think it over.
However, they’re immediately stopped in their tracks when it comes to someone new.
It’s usually difficult to get them to open up to people and it takes a bit of patience. The reward comes once you’ve obtained their friendship.
VOICE: Medium pitch; androgynous. Mostly dragging out their vowels and laughing. Loud as well but when they’re anxious, they dial back and speak with halting words, quiet tones.

[distant and distracted, said as a passing comment] You guys ever think about how Mothman could very well be real but we’d never know because he’d just turn into a shit ton of moths and disappear into the night. No? Just me? Come on, Perce. I know you stay up thinking about it.

Haitian but is fluent in English; doesn’t have an accent. Sometimes speaks in AAVE, but not often.
Cool and collected; Deja is a self-assured woman who tends to make sarcastic and teasing comments at first pass. She’s incredibly responsible but has a rebellious side to her.
It’s not as if she’s encouraging her friends to break any rules but she happens to have the keys to the school pool so why not offer a quick dip.
A ride and die wouldn’t hesitate to show her distaste towards someone if they happened to rub her or her friends the wrong way.
VOICE: Low to high pitch; Deja teases so she’s got a sly intonation. Not exactly mysterious but she has a way with words that feels like she knows something you don’t.

Filipina but is fluent in English; has a Californian accent and tends to slip into Tagalog when she’s startled or angry. The end of her sentences sometimes has an ‘ah’ because of her Filipina upbringing.
Adaptable, popular, and responsible; Reynah’s got a personality that people can’t really hate. As such she tends to be well acquainted with a lot of people.
She usually doesn’t let things bother her. Any problems with people can be easily resolved or simply dismissed— as the president of the Student Government, she has no time to give to any red flags/haters after all.
She is a tad bossy, but the show must go on for her and it needs to go without a hitch.
VOICE: High pitch; Reynah marches to the beat of her own drum so she might speak a little fast. She’s got a lilt in her voice that is mostly playful.
