KARMA WOODLAND
Karma Woodland follow the story of a cat named Vivienne. She was abandoned by her parents when she was just a tiny kitten, but luckily for her Vivienne was found and rescued by a kind stranger named Freed. Freed raises Vivienne, but when she is older an old horror returns to the forest where Vivienne lives - an ancient demon named Fisisk, who can use negative emotions of cats and turn them into a curse which makes cats kill those who were the cause of the negativity, has returned after seemingly being gone for many years. Now Vivienne has to figure how to live in this fear and how to end it for good.
I’m looking for voice actors! Hovewer there are some rules:
1. You must have a dicord account. You don’t have to join the project server, but discord is the best way of communicating for me right now.
2. I don’t want homophobic/transphobic/racist/ableist people in my server
3. Characters in this film do swear sometimes, keep that in mind
Vivienne is a moody, typical angsty teenager cat. She is always pissed, and is constantly annoyed by everything. However when she is afraid she becomes very meek and obedient, which sometimes can cause trouble. Vivienne can be unintentionally rude and that’s why she doesn’t have so many friends. Vivienne does feel guilty about being rude, but she hates apologising - she is too proud for that.
Vivienne has a rough, croaky, slow, but still obviously feminine voice.
A NOTE: if you audition you have to be ready to make a younger sounding voice of this character! Her younger self will appear sometimes
”God, I feel like I’m going to rot in this place forever” - annoyed, tired voice
”Don’t fucking touch me!” - aggressive yelling, slight panic in voice
“Why couldn‘t you have told me earlier?…I would’ve at least prepared” - quiet, sad and bitter voice
Freed is a strict cat who is clear with her goals and always has a routine to follow. She is very honest, which sometimes hurts others. However Freed does have a sense of humour and can make a joke when things get rough and complicated to ease the atmosphere. However a lot of Freed’s jokes are making fun of others and can be hurtful.
Freed has a middle-aged, honeyed voice.
“Have patience, young lady. You are not helping yourself by complaining” - serious, slightly annoyed voice
“I raised you up from NOTHING! You don’t get to tell me such things so carelessly!” - furious yelling
“Fix that attitude. Whining will not fix anything now, will it?” - peaceful, but slightly concerned voice
Fane is a childhood, and only friend of Vivienne. He is a light-hearted, open-minded cat who is rarely angry or loud. He learned to not respond to anger or rudeness and so it is hard to make him angry. He however has anxiety, and fears the forest, and because of that he lives on a meadow instead. Vivienne never really understood this because she loves being in the forest.
Fane has a soft, and constantly wobbly voice.
“O-oh, sorry, did I scare you? I really didn’t mean to, haha” - concerned, awkward voice
“Um, do I really have to go in there?…I could just wait, you know” - anxious voice
“VIVIENNE, please stop! This is not funny!” - panicked yelling, breathy voice
Law is Fane’s friend. She is cooperative and talkative, sometimes she just can’t stop talking. She loves sharing her interests with others. However with strangers she is pretty suspicious and refuses to trust, and sometimes it is bad for her. She rarely falls for panic and has a clear state of mind even in the worst situations.
Law has a high-pitched, slightly obnoxious voice
“Ugh, is this really what the Woodland does to cats? Thank god I don‘t live in there” - annoyed voice
”Oh, by the way, do you want me to show you the beehive near by my house?” - exited voice
“What is your goddamn problem?! Let me help you!” - angry and slightly panicked voice
Ike is Vivienne’s father. He is very quiet and rarely speaks. Ike constantly looks tired and distanced, as if his mind is somewhere else. Ike sleeps a lot and barely goes outside.
Ike has a very monotonous, gravelly voice.
”I know you are…disappointed, but I hope you take time to consider my point of view too” - peaceful, but slightly sad voice.
“Please, stop yelling…there’s no use In it right now” - desperate, tired voice
“I really don’t think there’s anything I can do anymore” - monotonous voice
Zima is Ike’s new mate after Elaine’s death. She has a calm, open-minded attitude. Zima is responsive and respectful, but is wary of strangers so you can easily see the suspicion through her kindness. Zime is more of a side character.
Zima has a silvery, peaceful voice and never raises it.
“Oh, don’t worry, you can come in!” - welcoming, reassuring voice
“Sweetheart, come here, don’t you want to go for a walk around the meadow?” - calm, but slightly concerned voiced
King is Zima and Ike’s son. He is pretty anxious and quiet, dislikes talking. King is not social, and only really talks to his mother.
King has a quiet, tight voice and it’s high pitched because Kind is a kitten.
“D-do we have…guests?” - stuttering, nervous voice
“I can help if you want me to” - hesitating voice
I will need 2 storyboard artists. Feel free to submit any storyboard examples you have, though keep in mind that you should have at least some experience with storyboarding, and I will pick storyboarders depending in how dynamic/clear they can make the scenes look.
