This Minecraft Machinima is based on the 1999 visual novel "Kanon" by Key/Visual Arts.
This movie takes elements from all three adaptations (VN, 2002 anime, and 2006 anime), but mainly the 2002 anime as it was the 13 episodes compared to the 24 episodes the 2006 one has.
STORY:
It’s been 7 years since Yuuichi Aizawa visited his aunt Akiko, but now that his parents have gone overseas to pursue their careers, he is finally back in the little northern town. Yuuichi is not really overjoyed with the prospect of living here though, because all of his memories of this place and the people living in it have mysteriously vanished. His cute cousin Nayuki seems like a stranger as well, even though he used to play with her all the time when they were younger On the day of moving into his new home, Yuuichi starts unpacking the boxes and stumbles upon a red headband that no one seems to recognize. This is one of the first clues that will make Yuuichi take a stroll through the snow-covered town and make him start recalling fragments of his past, broken promises and buried secrets. Yuuichi soon realizes that there is something supernatural going on, and all of his new female acquaintances seem to have links to his forgotten past.

MALE - Medium Pitched Voice Tone.
Yuuichi Aizawa is the protagonist of Kanon. He is friendly and outgoing. He constantly teases the main cast of girls throughout the story which varies in severity depending on the girl. Despite this, he does have a soft side that likens him to an older brother. He used to visit the city in which the story takes place, but his memories of that time are gone, slowly coming back to him as he interacts with the people he met in the past.
(reminiscing) It's been seven years since I last visited this town. The only reason I came back here was because of my parents. They had work over seas and my aunt offered to watch over me while they were gone. To be honest, most of my childhood memories are hazy. I can't even recall the times I spent with Nayuki. Maybe living here again could help me with my lost memories.
You two are related? You two are complete opposites in the personality game. Oh yeah, why are you outside the school? (jokingly) I hate to break it to you, but trespassers aren’t allowed.
(On the verge of tears) Is that what you really want? You just want me to forget you ever existed? There’s no way I could forget about you! Do you think I can just forget about you?!... Can’t you stay here forever…? (crying) Ayu, are you going already? Hey, at least answer me… You can’t just leave without saying goodbye! Ayu… AYU!!!!!!!!!!
FEMALE - Motherly Medium to Low Pitched Voice Tone.
Akiko is Nayuki's mother and Yuuichi Aizawa's aunt whose main role is in Nayuki's arc. Akiko is a kind and caring person. She is a great cook, and is proud of her special and unique jam, which no one likes. It's unknown if she has tasted it or if she likes it. She tends to answer yes and no very quickly, usually in one second.
Oh, Yuuichi! She had a club meeting for the track team. Have you finished unpacking your things?
It's this special Jam I made. There is nothing quite like it!
Even after all this time, she's still a child. She's the type that still believes a prince on a white horse is going to come for her. Yuuichi, love exists to lift people up. Even if that love never comes to be, it can give that person a reason to live.
FEMALE - Medium Pitched Voice Tone.
Kaori is mainly in Shiori's story, but is regularly seen due to her being Nayuki's best friend and Yuuichi's and Nayuki's classmate, as well as the class representative. She is very smart and knows a lot about the schoolmates and townspeople, but doesn't appear to be aware of any of the supernatural things that happen, even after Yuuichi's caring saves someone close to her. Her surname and appearance indicate that she is Shiori's sister, and Shiori affirms this, but Kaori vehemently denies it.
Don't mind Kitagawa, though. He just likes to follow me and Nayuki around.
She was born with a weak body. But, she has been getting better. I think she will make it to her next birthday. But that's about it. Nothing else is going to change. She asked… And I chose not to look at her. She's going to disappear. That's why… (about to cry) I acted like she… never existed… (starts crying) What was she born for?
(crying) You promised that we would wear the same uniform… Go to the same school, and go home to the same house. It's not just your dream you know! It's also my dream!
MALE - High to Medium Pitched Voice Tone.
The very outgoing Jun Kitagawa is the self proclaimed boyfriend to Kaori Misaka. He worships the ground she walks on, but unfortunately the love is one-sided and is less like two lovers and more like an owner (Kaori) and her dog (Jun). Despite being very infatuated with Kaori, he still is a very big womanizer and will try to get any woman available.
Hey! You’re the one who asked me to go out with you after school today!
Are you alright Yuuichi? Looks like something is on your mind.
How could you be so calm! Look what happened to the school!
FEMALE - Medium Pitched Voice Tone.
Mishio Amano acts very much like Mai. She too likes to distance herself from others but for a very different reason. At first appearance, Mishio appears to be very cold hearted and stubborn. But when Yuuichi confronts Mishio about her knowledge of handling 'special' relationships, it all becomes very clear. Mishio then becomes the only person that can help Yuuichi and Makoto on how to deal through the difficult times considering that she too went through the same relationship pains.
You mustn’t stay around her. She will give you eternal pain…
