Have you ever wondered what life was like in a cave world FULL of radioactive monsters?
For the Wokis of Ke’Maro cave, this nightmare-ish realm is their reality… And they HAVE to face it together!

Kandaken is an original, dark fantasy - themed indie animation series thats ALL ABOUT showing the true meaning of being a hero!
The series tells the story of a group of teen outcast Wokis (cave sprites) trying to survive in a hostile , magical forest world full of radioactive monsters trying to kill or eat you…
And as if that’s not bad enough, an empire from outer space , attempts to seize Kandaken to acquire Portal Sand - a powerful ore that can help them build a weapon to control the galaxy!
Together, the Wokis get through various struggles - the monsters, the empire , but most importantly - each other.
Will they succeed? Will they fail? Only time will tell.

Kandaken is the first Autism Awareness animation project in the Middle East, written and made by people on the spectrum! It is all about breaking stereotypes and learning social skills through a fantasy setting and character-driven stories!
While the idea is completely original, the show is inspired by and would give a similar feel to My Little Pony, Warriors or Wings of Fire’

Currently we are looking to cast villain roles for a side animation called Cat Guy and Glow Worm - started as a Warrior propaganda comic that Bluetail was obsessed with, that gradually - as he develops , turns into an integral part of the show as he realizes even villains have their own dreams , desires and even good within them!
We are also looking for extra teachers for our weekly Kandaken Academy VA + Animation classes! While it is a volunteering position at its core, we are of course ready to pay teachers for their work based on either the Kandaken rates or their own :3!

Introduction in the show: at first we dont know anything about him, just that hes a random villain fighting catguy and glow worm and thats all thats shown, keeping him more mysterious. Over time there are subtle hints on that hes catguys brother, gradually coming into small flashbacks hinting at it from time to time. At an end of an episode there is a more specific flashback, revealing that they are brothers. Then there could be a whole one episode about them, how it all started, about the jealously and the backstory.
Cool facts: His name means envious, bluish and livid, which ties to his backstory.
He is in some ways the opposite of catguy while still being similar enough to be his brother. For example in values his palette is the opposite of catguys. His eye color is the opposite to catguys (if you reverse green its purple). His build is also slightly different and slimmer. The grayscale palette is supposed to show how he is not heroic as well as make him stand out from the colorful world.

Backstory:
It all began when he was a kid. His older brother, Catguy, from the beginning was seen as the "favorite brother". Having many friends while he had none. Admired, having all the attention, not as thin and weak as Livius.
For Catguy heroism came naturally. For him not. He never liked the whole "hero" thing, it was nauseating.
For some time he tried to become as strong as Catguy, but soon after discovered magic and quickly realized that being smart gives you way more advantage than muscles, even if you dont get admired as much for it. He became obsessed with it, determined to learn every trick and spell he could. (His main abilities are pulling shadowy rabbits and doves out of his hat to be his minions, as well as dissappearing with magic, and conjuring cards that can be trown. He is still learning more.)
He kept his growing hatred for Catguy hidden, keeping him oblivious. But when Catguy became a full on hero and legend with Glow worm, leaving him forgotten as if he was never there he couldn't hold it anymore. He sworn Catguy as his enemy, determined to make him fall and get all the attention, even if negative. He didn't care what kind of attention, didn't care if he was called the villain, even deep down liked it. At first Catguy didn't want to fight him, but when Livius started to hurt innocent creatures to get his attention he had no choice and they became enemies.

Medium-low male voice, generally smooth and performative, more dark than heroic (kinda opposite to Catguy).
While we imagine Livius with either a British , a General European OR a Polish/Czech/ Slovak accent - any accent can in principle work! The acting part is the most important thing .

Meet Lungman !
He is based off an elephant cause the african elephant Is the Land animal that has the strongest and largest lungs.
He loves singing & he's the host of his own show (think of Caine), but he noticed that not many People were actually interested in him or his show- everybody prefer applauding for Catguy and Glowworm instead! And this makes Lungman jealouse of the attention those hero's got.
Ofc this makes him Mad and feel unwanted.. filled with jealousy & revanchisme, he starts terrorizing people! He prefers to be recognized as a monster/villian than to be a "nobody".
His Powers? Air manipulation & super strength! He has very strong & big lungs, so he can basically destroy a home by just blowing hard on It- or blow people away! He's also very strong and a powerful punch from him could send you flying!

Lungman has a funky, cartoonish , show-host voice, think of Caine from TADC or your typical Advertisement salesman
While we imagine him with an American, French or South African accent, we welcome submissions of any and all accent , his silly, cartoonish demeanor is more important!

Stridor is a harsh, high-pitched breathing sound caused by a narrowed or blocked upper airway 🫁
But most people just call her Squeaks
She was born within a wild ovap family in which her father was the alpha of the ovaps
Though her father's leadership was displayed as questionable was seen as a selfish who prioritize himself and his daughter He would sleep in the cozy corner, and order other ovaps to feed him even feeding when sleep half asleep (upside-down) as he sleeps all day and night and never would do anything to benefit the rest of the ovaps
Then somebody confronted him and challenged him
The pack decided that a wrestling match were to be ordered to determine the new alpha, one that would actually provide for the pack
Yet this wrestling match was lethal as the opponent pushed her father midair into the stone wall
Stridor flew out of the cave in fear after her father's death but got lost in the middle of the woods and couldn't find her way back🌲
🎶 But she then heard singing 🎶
🐘 It was Lungman🫁
Lungman was depressed after getting booed in one of his shows, he was in the deeps of despair.
But Lungman's problem is that he never really truly understood others' feelings and emotions or ever just listen, he wants to display he is helping, show that he is kind, show that he is a hero, and demands love and respect in return
Yet people often dismiss him as annoying and while he was being ignored, it seemed that Catguy and Glowworm was getting ALL the attention
After failing to gain any sort of attention, he slumped to a tree to think and reflect, in despair he sang to cope…

Stridor is meant to have a high pitched , cartoonish , though pretty shy and insecure voice - unlike the more energetic lung man. As ovaps are bird / bat like , try to include squeaks or bat noises.
While we imagine Squeaks with a South-eastern asian OR Australian accent , feel free to audition with any! The most important thing is the acting and portrayal of the character itself !

As we know, the 2 greatest enemies of a cat are Dogs and water, so we created Cat guy's sworn enemy, the "Water Dog" is a big and strong dog who hates cats, in pursuit of Cat guy he fell into a cave with magical water which caused him to receive water powers, and a body made of water and can change states of aggregation from solid to liquid, his goal is to eliminate Cat guy at all costs so that they will think he is the real hero and that dogs are better than cats

Looking for a deep “watery” voice with a childish , energetic feel to it that still seems villainous and a very cheesy way of talking.
While we imagine him with either a Hebrew , a Levantine (Lebanon/Syria etc.) or a Western European (German, Dutch) accent - anything can potentially work!

Feel free to share your portofolio! We offer 180€ per completed 1 minute long scene (rough , lineart and colouring), though before being accepted into the team, you will have to do a short tryout to make sure you can match our art style!

As part of the role, you will be required to mix and master the audio to make sure it sounds professional! Bear in mind , this may be a challenging task as some of our VAs are beginners and while all have a mic, not everyone has a complete sound proofed studio.

The general rate is - 40$ per made / produced video, 20$ per uploaded video - though it is negotiable , especially if the person has more of a following .

We have a 2800 people fan server , a lot of whom are also on the Autism spectrum, like us - and want to give out equal opportunities to everyone :3
Responsibilities:
Planning out inclusive, easy to understand VA classes (focused on Cartoon / Character voiceover, Vocal Range, emotions, reaction to surroundings etc… ) along with the Directors and Cast, including active practice.
Holding them on Saturdays, twice a month at 21:00 CEST (Dutch Time)- though we are also open for 14:00 CEST options.

For this role, you will be required to do a Kandaken art style tryout , and get accepted into the Animation team!
