JoJo: Diamond is a Parody // Episode 2 [CLOSED]
Project Overview
This is a follow-up audition to the first episode of JoJo: Diamond is a Parody posted on the Slap Happy Chaps channel, showcased here. We're filling in some roles that are introduced and appearing in this episode. Tomoko will be a recurring character throughout the season (which will be ~4 more episodes in length; subject to change).
This parody delves into some intense themes (death, anxiety, loss, etc.), so please keep this in mind when submitting your audition. Thank you for your time and best of luck!
// AUDITION REQUIREMENTS //
- Cardioid condenser microphone. XLR preferred, but not required.
- Treated recording space with noise floor at or under -60db.
- Submit files with waveforms peaking at -3db.
- Please edit out unnecessary silence, breathing, popping and plosives.
- File type: WAV, 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, mono.
- Please include Discord ID with your audition.
- DO NOT submit your demos for consideration. Custom auditions only.

- Keep communication open between the director and talent.

Tomoko is the daughter of Ryohei Higashikata, and mother of Josuke Higashikata. She's a loving mother, but she tends to get carried away, as she has a sort of explosive temper. When the subject of Joseph Joestar comes up, she only has two speeds: violent or vulnerable. Though, we're never sure which is going to come out at any given time. She has a hatred for capitalism and the corporate machine. Looking for a mature woman sound, but not too old, as she's only in her thirties.
[Annoyed] The usual... Josuke got into a fight at a convenience store because someone insulted his hair. I wonder where he gets THAT from...
[Defensive, reactionary, explosive] Climate change is real! Stop polluting!
[Giving WAY too much information] About time you finished up in there. I need to use the restroom, that coffee goes right through ya!

Ryohei Higashikata, the current patriarch of the Higashikata family, living in a house with his daughter, Tomoko, and his grandson, Josuke. Kind, playful, devoted, and often a barrier between Tomoko and her violent impulses. Looking for a mature male sound. Deep, gruff sounding, low-pitched.
[Happy, greeting] Hey Tomoko! How's the day been?
[Advising] You really should have a talk with him about his temper.
[Menacing, threatening] I know what you’re thinking… Did he fire six shots, or only five. To tell you the truth, in all the excitement I kinda lost track myself…

This is a re-imagined version of Angelo Katagiri from the source material.
The villain of the week. A former Soviet national that fled to Japan after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Swore revenge against Ryohei Higashikata for finding him and putting him in prison for violent crimes committed during his time in Japan. Looking for an older male voice who can do a Russian accent. This guy does a Russian accent when not trying to blend into the culture, and when in 'hiding' he's doing a neutral North American accent. Everything else is open to interpretation, as long as the performance sounds authentic.
[Admiring, then sinister and threatening, Russian accent] Ryohei Higashikata... looks like you've made quite the life for yourself. A beautiful daughter, a lovely home, a quiet life... but that's all about to come to an end.
[Apologetic, not Russian accent, trying to blend in] Oh, I'm sorry, ma'am. An oversight on my part. Take this bottle of milk instead.
[Inviting yet menacing, Russian accent] That’s it… leave the bottle unattended, you little shit. I’ll be sure to keep you hydrated with at least 16 liters of DEATH.
