Project Overview
Johnny The Homicidal Maniac
is a series that follows the life of Johnny C., nicknamed Nny, who is a psychopathic murderer, and Squee, his next door neighbor, created by Jhonen Vasquez.
Project Information:
- This is being created as a "secret" Halloween special for our channel! Each episode will be released (hopefully!) bi-weekly beginning in mid-late August or early September, and will end on Halloween. If we don't finish the comic by Halloween we will continue regardless to see the project to completion!
About Us
We are a channel called Ypres - or Ypres Dubs. We have 3.3k subs on our channel and pull views from 5k to 300k per video. We have dipped into different fandoms over the course of our creation, and love reaching out to work with aspiring voice actors and actresses from all over the globe to create content everyone can enjoy.
Audition Requirements:
- Must have Discord, and be active on it as well
- Be alright with explicit language and sensitive topics involving mental illness, violence, and gore (preferably be 18+)
- Meet given deadlines
- Have perfect (or near perfect) mic quality and solid delivery following the given directions
- Have at least 2 takes per line

Voice Actor
He is a deranged serial killer, mass murderer, and spree killer who interacts with various other characters, more often than not torturing and murdering them. Sometimes, Johnny shows feelings of self-hatred for the horrible things he does. However, in spite of his killing sprees, Johnny had, and perhaps still has, romantic feelings for a woman named Devi, who is the heroine of Vasquez's double-shot comic I Feel Sick. On their first date, they were just about to kiss on the couch when Johnny rushes to the bathroom in a panic. Psycho Doughboy tells him he should “immortalize the moment”, making him pull out a knife and attempt to kill Devi. As a result, Devi breaks up with him and runs away, leaving him very unhappy.
When auditioning for the role of Nny, keep in mind you'll also be playing his little oc Happy Noodle Boy as well! Use a fun, silly voice - whatever you think would fit - but still sound like Nny doing an impression of him. Just subtly show it's still him, y'know?

Hmm? What’s that, Shmee? Mmhmm. Yeeess. Hmm? Yeah, Really? Uh huh. Okaaaay.What? Hmm.
(Suddenly angered by the stuffed animal; screaming at it in anger before he attacks it)
Well FUCK you, Mr. Bear!!! You speak lies!!! Liiiies!!! Stuffed with pure venom, you vile, lint infested bastard!!
How many more like you are there?!! How many more?!!! You can’t even imagine the things I’ve endured!! And always at the hands of shit like you!!!
You don’t know the truth!!!(Calmly; Explaining to a surveyor visiting his home)

The violent crimes?
All perfectly natural in a society whose advances are limited to its technology. The basic behavior of the modern human is hardly different from that of its primitive ancestors. The only noticeable changes are trends.(As Happy Noodle Boy; Aggressively)
Hey, dog entity! Rise up and bare your biscuit filthy fangs at the oppressive leash wielding demon!! Goddamn, my navel itches!!

Voice Actor
A quiet, introverted child who is frequently targeted by bullies and his abusive parents, Squee has been forced to mature a bit more quickly than his peers. He is fond of writing, but sadly he only receives criticism from his teacher (a prototype of Miss Bitters) and taunting from his classmates. Any attempts he makes to deflect these hostilities only results in being shoved into the dirt or otherwise humiliated.
Voice Range: High-ish

No, you’re wrong, Shmee. They aren’t bad people, they love me!
They don’t really mean it when they tell me to get kidnapped!(Under his breath; Worried; Pouting)
Let’s go to my room, Shmee.
We’ll hide under the blankets, and maybe fall asleep before we die.(Whining; In protest)
But I caaan’t! I don’t have any curtains on my windows and I feel like things are watching me!! Please, daddy, it’s scary here! Shmee hears sounds!
Voice Actor
A struggling artist, she worked in a bookstore for half the duration of JTHM; the other half she spent painting in her apartment. Devi was one of the few characters in the series who actually met Johnny in person and lived to tell about it.

I figure my work is all I've got. If I stopped painting, I'd just cease to exist. My every life function exists solely to make sure I have enough strength to get the images out of my head. So it's either immunity or death!! Haha.
Voice Actor
Among the group of Johnny's "voices," Nailbunny appears to represent Nny's conscience and "voice of reason," a role he on occasion expresses exasperation with. He is responsible for persuading Johnny not to kill himself, and also acts as a conversation partner during some of Nny's more introspective moments regarding his life and killing sprees.
Voice Range: High; Ominously Cutesy
(Yelling out to get Nny's attention; Urgent)
WAAAAIT! Don't do it! Killing yourself isn't the answer!
(Frustrated/Annoyed, but still trying to help Nny)
You bought me at the pet store, fed me once, then nailed me to this wall, three years ago. I don’t have to imagine.
But just listen to me!(Scared;Urgent)
No, Johnny! He’s the liar!! You can get help!! Please don’t do anything stupid!! There have to be people out there, somewhere, who can help you! Different from the ones who have hurt you! Yes!!
Voice Actor
Mr. Eff appears to represent Nny's more manic, homicidal side, as he encourages Nny to kill remorselessly to obtain blood to repaint the wall. However, this action also has a selfish motive, since as long as the monster remains inside the wall, it will feed more power to Mr. Eff and Psycho DoughBoy, making them more real.
Voice Range: Mid-High
(Ominously; Obviously faking kindness for Nny's attention; Becoming irratic in the next line)
I miss your smile, Nny.
You've lost focus on yourself. Lost too much strength to things you felt affection for. Paid too much attention to people you knew would disappoint. You know what they are!! Don't expect ANYTHING but nasty irritation from anyone you didn't create!!

Psycho DoughBoy appears to represent the depressed, self-loathing aspect of Nny's insanity, encourages Nny to kill himself on several occasions. D-boy is continually infuriated with Nny's failure to commit suicide, and accuses him of sabotaging his attempts on purpose.

As you may know, the people of our city have recently been subject to a massive increase in hideously brutal mutilations. Now, I’d just like to ask you a few questions if you have the time.(Comedically over-exaggerated sniffling; As if mimicking an almost poetic sense of sadness)
