Into The Strange - The Death Day Calendar

Into The Strange - The Death Day Calendar

Project Overview

Into The Strange is an original scripted audio series inspired by the eerie tone of The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror. Each episode explores unsettling tales of the uncanny, the forgotten, and the unreal, blending retro sci-fi, psychological horror, and poetic storytelling.

Set in mid-century suburbia, "The Death Day Calendar " unfolds in 1950s New York. Evelyn Marlowe is a young woman trapped in a life she carefully chose, married to a kind but uninspiring older man, working a thankless job under a lecherous boss, and suffocating in a world of routine and quiet resignation. But Evelyn’s life takes a chilling turn after she stumbles upon a strange, hand-bound calendar at a forgotten estate sale. It has no months, no years, just space for dates. When she writes in it, those dates change destiny.

(We believe in honoring the craft of real performance. No AI-generated voices are used in this production, and we will never use AI to replicate, alter, or replace the voices of our actors. Every voice you hear is going to be performed by a living actor who has given their time, talent, and spirit to each story. Their work is protected, respected, and celebrated here.) -Into The Strange Team

  • Do you see what I mean? I have to get out of the house. Walter is on the brink of retirement and imagining putting up with that for the rest of his days will drive me to cyanide.

  • Oh, nothing sweetie! Uh-yes, I…(nervous chuckle) I’ve just been so caught up with work and everything…

  • (panic) Walter’s birthday…our anniversary…oh my God, Evelyn…why didn’t you take it with you this time??

  • Now just why are you up so early before me? You know I can’t stand it not to wake up next to you each morning.

  • I’m glad you remembered, Evelyn. I’ve been thinking… maybe we should take a little trip together today. Just the two of us, like when we used to.

  • Awww, I wish you didn’t make yourself go to work. You know I can provide for the two of us.

  • I don’t know how much you know about corporate, but they hold me to standards well above the ones I have for you. Had I missed that call by a mere minute, that would’ve been the ax for you, miss!

  • Have you forgotten what it means to be my secretary? Do you? Tell me, what sense does it make for first chair of any band to start playing off-key after all that hard work, huh?

  • And schedule my dentists appointment as soon as you’re finished!

  • I’m glad someone’s looking at my clothes. I was afraid we were having poor fashion taste.

  • Thank goodness. When I was clearing out John’s stuff, I found things I hadn’t worn in decades and decided to throw them in.

  • Oh, this? I should have left it open on the table. Don’t let the leather cover fool you — it’s only a calendar.
