Project Overview
Project Name: Inside & Out
Project Overview:
Inside & Out is an emotional, character-driven Webtoon webseries that delves into the lives of a group of high school friends grappling with grief, mental health, and the complexity of their relationships after the tragic suicide of one of their closest friends. The series follows the journey of 16-year-old Avery, as he struggles to navigate his overwhelming feelings of loss, depression, and isolation in the aftermath of his best friend Bergs’ death.
As Avery withdraws from his friends, his relationships with his girlfriend Silva, his outgoing friend Kalvin, and the rest of the group start to fray. The series will explore the tension between holding onto the past and trying to heal, showing the messy, difficult journey of grief and the moments of light that break through the darkness. Through these characters’ highs and lows, Inside & Out will offer a raw and honest look at how we can stay connected to each other and ourselves when life feels like it’s falling apart.
Tone & Themes:The series will strike a balance between raw emotional storytelling and hopeful moments of connection. It’s a journey of healing that’s never straightforward, filled with intense emotional highs and lows, broken by fleeting moments of joy and humor.
Key themes include:
Grief & Loss: The emotional toll of losing someone close.
Mental Health: Addressing depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
Love & Relationships: The challenges love faces when trauma is involved—especially in Avery and Silva's strained relationship.
Self-Discovery & Growth: The process of rebuilding one’s identity after loss.
Inside & Out will feature a cartoony, expressive art style designed to capture the emotional weight of the story while still allowing moments of lightness. Think dynamic facial expressions, exaggerated character designs, and an emphasis on visual storytelling to amplify the emotions the characters are experiencing.
The backgrounds will shift from muted, melancholic tones to vibrant colors during moments of hope and growth, mirroring the emotional journey of the characters. The overall aesthetic will be vibrant, bold, and impactful, with a strong focus on creating an atmosphere that complements the story's emotional depth.
Target Audience:Inside & Out is aimed at teens and young adults—those who are navigating their own emotional journeys, struggling with loss, mental health, or relationships. It is also for anyone who enjoys deep, character-driven stories with both moments of heartache and hope. The series seeks to resonate with viewers who have experienced grief, who struggle with emotional distance, or who simply need a reminder that they’re not alone in what they’re feeling.
Why This Webseries is Important:Inside & Out aims to shed light on the often invisible struggles of mental health and grief. Through its emotionally charged storyline and dynamic characters, the series will spark important conversations about how we can better support one another in times of need. It also offers a portrayal of diverse relationships—romantic, platonic, familial—and explores how loss can shift, challenge, and sometimes even strengthen those connections.

Character Name: Avery Costa
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Nationality: Brazilian
Height: About 5'6"
Appearance: Avery has deep brown curls in a messy wolfcut. He often looks tired or distant, and his clothes are usually loose or plain. He doesn’t try to stand out, but there’s something about him that draws people in. His eyes often show more emotion than he says out loud.
Voice Type: Avery’s voice is in the mid-to-low range. It sounds like a teenage boy—not too deep or manly. His voice is soft, sometimes shaky when he’s upset, and usually quiet. When he does raise his voice, it’s usually out of anger or stress, not confidence.
Character Summary:Avery is a quiet, emotional 16-year-old going through a very hard time. He struggles with depression, self-harm, and dark thoughts. He often hides his feelings behind silence or sarcasm, and sometimes shuts down completely. Deep inside, he wants help—but asking feels impossible.
His best friend, Bergs Everlin, passed away not long ago, and Avery hasn’t been the same since. Bergs was his anchor, the one person who truly understood him. Losing Bergs has made the world feel even heavier, and Avery now carries that grief every day.
Even though he acts like he doesn’t care, he feels everything deeply. He’s not just sad—he’s trying to survive. And part of him still hopes that one day, he won’t have to try so hard just to keep going.

Monologue (emotional, vulnerable): "It still feels like Bergs is just… gonna walk through the door again. Like none of this ever happened. But he won’t. And I hate how quiet it is without him. I hate how I still talk to him like he’s listening. Maybe he is. I don’t know. I just… I miss him so much it hurts to breathe sometimes."
Calm Line (soft, reflective): "Bergs always said I was stronger than I believed. I think about that a lot… especially on the bad days."
Angry/Serious Line (tense, intense): "Don’t tell me you understand. You didn’t know him. You didn’t see what losing him did to me. So don’t act like this is something you can fix with a few nice words."
Character Name: Bergs Everlin
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 5'8"
Nationality/Ethnicity: Filipino
Appearance: Bergs had short black hair, often slightly tousled like he didn’t care too much about styling it. He had a laid-back look—hoodies, band shirts, and worn-in sneakers. His eyes were thoughtful and warm, like he was always paying attention, even when he didn’t say much. His smile was rare, but when it showed, it meant something.
Bergs’ voice was smooth and mid-range, with a calm, thoughtful tone. He wasn’t loud or excitable—he spoke with intention, often slow and steady, like he was choosing his words carefully. His voice carried warmth, but also a little sadness underneath, even before things got bad. When he was joking, it had a quiet charm. When he was serious, you listened.
Character Summary:Bergs Everlin was Avery Kaz’s best friend—and one of the most important people in Avery’s life. He was steady, grounded, and emotionally in tune with others, especially Avery. Bergs struggled with his own inner pain, but he often kept it hidden, more focused on helping the people he cared about.
Though he always seemed calm on the outside, Bergs was quietly overwhelmed. His own depression and internal battles were invisible to most, even Avery. Eventually, Bergs took his own life—a moment that deeply shook everyone around him, especially Avery, who still carries that weight.
Bergs was more than his death, though. He was gentle, loyal, and had a deep emotional intelligence that helped his friends feel safe around him. He had dreams, thoughts he never shared, and a quiet hope that maybe things would someday feel okay. His absence is loud.

Monologue (soft, hidden emotion):"People think I’ve got it figured out just because I listen more than I talk. But the silence isn’t peace. It’s noise I don’t know how to explain. It’s like… my head never stops. I wake up tired, I go to sleep tired, and in between I just... pretend. Pretend I’m okay. Pretend I’m not thinking about disappearing. And I hate that I’m good at it. I hate that nobody sees through it—because a part of me wishes they would. I wish someone would ask the right questions, push past the smile, the jokes, the ‘I’m fine.’ But they don’t. And I get it. No one wants to carry someone else’s pain when they’re already carrying their own."
Calm Line (gentle, reassuring): "You don’t have to say anything, Avery. I’m here. That’s enough, okay?"
Serious Line (angered, intense): "You say you care, but where were you when it actually mattered? I was drowning right in front of you—and you looked the other way. Don’t tell me you didn’t see it. You just didn’t want to."

Kalvin’s voice carries, and he speaks with confidence, often in a fast-paced, enthusiastic way. Whether he’s hyping up his friends or trying to get through to them, Kalvin’s energy and volume are key parts of his presence.
Character Summary:Kalvin is a tall, energetic 16-year-old who loves to be the center of attention. Outgoing and confident, he has no trouble speaking his mind or making his presence known. He’s the life of the party, always the first to crack a joke or cheer someone up. While he might seem like the kind of person who’s got everything under control, Kalvin is actually struggling with his own emotions, especially after the death of their friend Bergs.
Kalvin is dedicated to his friends, particularly Avery, and does everything he can to support him. Despite his loud and boisterous exterior, he’s deeply sensitive to the people he cares about. He’s not the best at dealing with heavy emotions, but he tries his hardest to be there for Avery through everything, even if it means pushing through his own confusion and grief. Silva’s voice is calm, soothing, and gentle. Her tone is soft and empathetic, often carrying a sense of care. When she speaks, she tries to comfort those around her, but when she’s upset, her voice becomes more fragile, reflecting her internal struggles. Her voice has a feminine quality, but it can grow sharp when frustration and emotional exhaustion set in.

Monologue (emotional and conflicted): "I don’t know how to help you anymore. I’ve tried, I’ve been patient, but it’s like you’re shutting me out. I love you, Avery, I always will. But I can’t keep pretending everything’s okay when it’s not. I can’t keep carrying us both. I need you to let me in. Please… let me help."
Calm Line (reassuring, soft, and casual): "Hey, I made some extra pasta if you’re hungry. You should eat something. It’s not much, but at least it’ll help."
Angry Line (frustrated and sharp): "I swear, if I have to clean up after you one more time, I’m going to lose it! You can’t just leave your stuff everywhere and expect me to fix it every time. I’m not your personal maid!"
Character Name: Naomi Kline
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
Race/Ethnicity: Black, But from England.
Voice Type: Any — must have a British accent. Naomi’s voice should sound soft but curious, with a polite tone that can shift to quiet determination when needed. She sounds thoughtful and observant, even when she’s shy.
Naomi Kline is the new transfer student from England, adjusting to a new country, new school, and a friend group that feels weighed down by a tragedy she doesn’t fully understand. She didn't know Bergs Everlin, which sometimes makes her feel like an outsider — but she’s observant, kind, and willing to learn and listen.
Naomi’s role becomes more important later in the story as she slowly becomes a part of the group, forming bonds especially with characters like Elias and Rayne. She offers a fresh perspective, sometimes questioning things the others have stopped noticing. Naomi represents healing, new beginnings, and the awkward, brave steps of reaching out when you don't have all the answers.
Personality:Naomi is thoughtful, curious, and quietly brave. Though she seems shy at first, she’s not afraid to stand her ground when something feels wrong. She is empathetic without forcing herself into situations she doesn’t understand. Naomi is deeply creative, often expressing herself through writing and journaling, and dreams of becoming an author someday.
She’s sensitive to the emotions of those around her but sometimes struggles with knowing when to speak and when to simply be present.
Content Warning:This character’s story will involve themes of grief, isolation, mental health struggles, and healing. While Naomi herself did not know the character who passed away, she will be involved in emotionally heavy scenes later in the series. Please audition with care and be prepared to approach sensitive topics respectfully.

Monologue (Curious but cautious, thoughtful): "Back home, they told me starting over would be exciting... but no one mentioned how lonely it would feel at first. I guess... sometimes you have to sit with the loneliness a while, before you find where you fit."
Calm/Friendly Line (Sincere, slightly shy): "Um, sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just thought... if you ever need a partner for the project, I’d be happy to help. I’m... surprisingly good at making things up on the spot." (small nervous laugh)
Angry/Serious Line (Quiet but firm): "You think just because I wasn't here, I don't care? Maybe I don't know everything... but that doesn't mean I can't see when someone’s hurting."
Character Name: Minx Hua
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Nationality/Ethnicity: Asian (possibly Chinese or mixed ethnicity based on his name)
Appearance: Minx has a casual, surfer-style look with messy blonde hair that falls slightly over his forehead. He’s of average height, around 5'7", with a lean and toned build. His clothing style is laid-back and comfortable, often sporting simple t-shirts and shorts or jeans. He has an easygoing, relaxed demeanor that matches his look, often seen with a carefree attitude.
Minx’s voice is relaxed and laid-back, with a slightly higher pitch than Kalvin’s but still confident. He speaks in a casual, almost lazy manner, with a tone that suggests he’s not too phased by much. His voice doesn’t carry the loud energy of someone like Kalvin, but it’s still warm and approachable. When he does speak up, it’s typically in a friendly and easygoing way.
Character Summary:Minx is a secondary character in the story—he isn’t as heavily involved in the main plot, but he still plays a significant role as part of the friend group. He’s friendly and sociable, though not as close to Avery or Kalvin as they are to each other. Minx tends to keep a little more to himself, not always diving into the emotional depth that Avery and Kalvin experience, but he’s still someone the others rely on for support, especially in lighter moments.
While Minx isn’t at the forefront of the emotional struggles the group faces, his presence is important as he offers a sense of normalcy and occasional levity. He’s often the one to suggest taking a break or finding a way to distract from the heavy feelings that the others are going through. He cares for his friends and is always around when needed, even if he doesn’t always fully understand or know how to help with the more complicated emotions of the group.
Content Warning:As Minx is part of a friend group that deals with themes of grief, LGBTQIA+ identity, and emotional struggles, he is aware of these issues but doesn't directly face them himself in the same way as the main characters.

Monologue (lighthearted, offering a distraction): "Hey, I know things have been... a lot lately. But you know what? Sometimes, you gotta step back and just breathe. You don’t have to fix everything. Maybe we could just go for a drive, grab some junk food, and pretend everything’s okay for a while. I promise it'll help."
Calm Line (excited and upbeat): "Yo, I get it, things are kinda crazy right now, but hey, we can totally handle this! How about we hit the beach, catch some waves, and just let loose for a bit? Trust me, it’ll clear your head."
Serious Line (angry and frustrated): "I’m tired of watching you all fall apart and not doing anything about it! Yeah, I’m not great with emotions, but I’m not stupid. I can see you’re all struggling. Don’t keep pushing me away like I’m some stranger. I might not have all the answers, but I’m here, damn it."
Character Name: Sara White
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5"
Nationality/Ethnicity: White
Appearance: Sara has medium-length, wavy brown hair that she sometimes cuts in a more androgynous or short style, but often keeps it loose or in a messy, natural look. Her style is clearly influenced by a more alternative or tomboy aesthetic—she prefers wearing oversized flannel shirts, graphic tees, and denim jackets. She’s often seen in high-waisted jeans or cargo pants, and she loves wearing boots or Converse sneakers. Her style is practical and unpretentious, but there’s a cool, bold edge to it that’s characteristic of her personality. She’s comfortable with herself and isn't afraid to dress in a way that feels authentic to her, even if it’s a little outside the mainstream.
Sara’s voice is deep, grounded, and assertive, with a warmth that makes it easy for people to open up to her. She speaks confidently, but her tone still carries a softness that makes her approachable and reassuring. When she’s passionate or frustrated, her voice becomes more intense, but it remains steady and controlled. Her deeper voice gives her a presence that reflects her inner strength, making her someone people can rely on for guidance and support.
Character Summary:Sara is a member of the friend group who often takes on the role of a listener and a peacemaker. She's a bit more laid-back and casual compared to others, but she also carries herself with a quiet confidence that others notice. Sara’s a natural when it comes to offering support and advice, though she tends to keep her own emotions more private. She’s loyal to her friends and has a strong sense of who she is, which is reflected in her style and attitude.
Sara is very much at ease with her identity, and while she isn’t in a romantic relationship with anyone at the moment, she is comfortable with her own sexuality and doesn’t feel the need to hide it. Her friendships mean a lot to her, and even though she isn’t the loudest or most outwardly expressive person in the group, she’s deeply protective of those she loves and can get fierce when it comes to standing up for them.
Content Warning:Sara’s character explores themes of friendship, self-identity, and personal growth. She may also have to navigate challenges surrounding her sexual identity and relationships, though it’s not her main storyline. Her journey is more about self-discovery and standing firm in who she is.

Monologue (thoughtful and introspective): "It’s funny… sometimes I think we’re all just waiting for something to happen, like life’s gonna give us some big, clear answer. But maybe the real answer is just... living. Being here, being true to who you are, and letting things unfold the way they’re supposed to. But it’s hard when you’re stuck in your own head, y’know? We all have our moments. I just wish we could see things more clearly before it’s too late."
Calm Line (humorous and relaxed): "Okay, seriously, if you keep stressing over this, we’re all gonna end up with gray hair before we’re 20. Chill out. It’s just a pizza, not a life-or-death situation."
Angry Line (feisty but controlled): "I’m sick of everyone acting like they’re okay when they’re not! If you’re gonna keep everything bottled up, then at least have the guts to own it. Don’t just walk around like nothing’s wrong and expect me to pretend like I’m not noticing!"
Character Name: Evan Kyler
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 5'10"
Race: Black
Voice Type: Chill and confident, with a smooth, mid-range tone. His voice has a playful rhythm and a friendly, down-to-earth energy. He’s easy to listen to, like someone you’d want to hang out with.
Evan Kyler is a Black teen who brings light and humor to the group, even in dark times. He’s not a main character, but his energy helps balance the heavier moments in the story. Evan is the type of guy who can make people smile even when they’re hurting—and that’s his quiet strength.
Though not central to the main storyline, Evan plays an important part in showing what normalcy looks like in contrast to the emotional intensity the others are dealing with. He’s the friend who checks in, cracks a joke, and keeps things grounded.
Personality:Funny, observant, and super chill. Evan doesn’t rush into drama, but he won’t let people go through things alone either. He loves music, skateboarding, streetwear, and watching hilariously bad horror movies. He’s got a good heart, even if he hides it behind sarcasm sometimes.

Chill Line (excited): "Bro, the new horror flick dropped and it’s so bad—it’s perfect. Like, monster made of meatloaf? I’m in."
Serious Line (angry, yelling at someone): "You seriously think I’m just gonna let that slide? I’ve been patient, I’ve been cool—but you keep pushing like I won’t snap. Newsflash: I’m done playing nice. Say that one more time, and we’re gonna have a real problem."

Gender: Non-binary (they/them)
Height: 5'7"
Voice Type: Any — soft but confident. Rayne’s voice has a calming, thoughtful tone, sounding poetic even when casual. Whether slightly higher, neutral, or lower in range, their voice should carry warmth and a quiet strength, with a passionate edge when emotions run high.
Rayne Callistro is a grounded, creative, and empathetic person in the friend group. They're often seen as the "anchor" when things feel too chaotic. Artistic and philosophical, Rayne tends to think deeply about everything and is often the first to notice when someone is struggling, even if no one says anything.
Rayne isn’t heavily involved in the volleyball team but is always there supporting their friends, whether it’s cheering from the stands or helping out behind the scenes. They have a strong connection to Elias Everlin, often comforting him with gentle conversations and creative activities like drawing together. Rayne embraces their identity with pride and encourages others to be true to themselves.
They aren’t the loudest, but when they speak, people listen.
Personality:Rayne is thoughtful and kind, often approaching others with a dry, witty sense of humor. They are artistic, spending much of their time sketching, writing, or painting. Around their friends, Rayne is quietly protective, stepping in when someone needs support without demanding attention. They are passionate about mental health, identity, and self-expression, and they are never afraid to stand up for the things they believe in.

🎭 Character Audition Sheet
Character Name: Connor Reese
Age: 16
Race: Greek
Gender: Male
Height: 5'10"
Voice Type: Deep and rough with a taunting edge. His tone shifts from slow and cocky to loud and aggressive when he's triggered. His voice always feels like it’s daring someone to challenge him.
Connor Reese is a volatile and intimidating presence at school. His bullying is both verbal and physical — he's known to shove kids into lockers, trip them in hallways, and throw punches when things don’t go his way. Most students avoid confronting him because the school turns a blind eye, and he’s terrifying when provoked.
Since Bergs' death, Connor has gotten worse. He mocks the memorials, calls grief “drama,” and goes out of his way to antagonize Avery, especially when Avery isolates himself. Whether it’s jealousy, guilt, or pure rage, Connor zeroes in on vulnerability and tears it open.
He’s the one who defaced Bergs’ locker — not because he truly hated him, but because seeing others love and remember Bergs forces Connor to confront how alone he feels. He lashes out as a defense.
Connor is the catalyst for a major fight that divides the group and nearly breaks Avery. He’s a villain — but a realistic one, shaped by neglect, anger, and deep insecurity.

Taunting and Physical: “Oh? Gonna cry again, Costa? Come on — hit me. Hit me like you're mad at me and not your dead boyfriend.”
Explosive and Violent: “You’re still crying over Berg? He’s gone — and no amount of your whining is gonna bring him back! Maybe if you weren’t so weak, he’d still be here!”
Cold and Smirking (right before hurting someone): “You know what’s funny? I don’t even hate you. I just like watching you break.”
Character Name: Jesse Morrow
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 6'7"
Voice Type: Deep but laid-back, often sounds indifferent and quiet. His tone fluctuates between awkwardness and slight sarcasm, particularly when uncomfortable.
Character Summary:
Jesse Morrow is a tall, reserved individual who stands at 6'7". He tends to hang back in social situations, preferring to avoid attention rather than be the center of it. Despite his imposing height, Jesse is emotionally distant, and his quiet nature makes him appear aloof, even though he’s not. Jess avoids conflict, often retreating into his own world when things become too emotionally intense. He’s the type to keep his feelings to himself, even when things get rough. His body language is closed off, and he prefers not to draw attention to himself, opting to keep things as low-key as possible.
Though he isn't the type to seek out a crowd, Jesse does find himself in Conner's orbit. In the beginning, Conner was one of the few people who offered him any sort of attention when Jess felt alone, and for that, Jesse was grateful. But over time, Conner's behavior shifted, and Jesse became a convenient target for Conner’s mockery. Though Jesse tolerates it, he's begun to resent how Conner treats him, but he hasn’t found a way to break free from the cycle.
Personality:
Jesse is quiet and withdrawn, preferring to stay out of the drama that swirls around his friend group. He’s not one to voice his opinions unless absolutely necessary, and when he does speak, it’s usually in a soft, almost apologetic tone. Jesse often appears disconnected from the world around him, but in truth, he’s simply internalizing everything. He’s more observant than he lets on, picking up on the subtle cues and emotional undercurrents in his interactions with others. He tends to keep a low profile and isn’t interested in being the center of attention. Despite his aloofness, Jesse is quietly protective of the people he cares about. He might not show it, but he’s a loyal friend, even if he struggles to express his feelings openly.
Appearance:
Jesse has messy, slightly wavy dark brown hair that falls just above his eyes, with muted brown eyes that match his neutral demeanor. He has an average build, leaning more towards strong but not overly athletic. He often dresses in oversized hoodies and scuffed shoes, preferring comfort over style. His posture is slouched, and he often avoids eye contact. Jesse’s overall appearance matches his quiet, unassuming personality—he’s not trying to stand out or make a statement with his look.
Dynamic with Conner:
At one point, Jesse hung out with Conner because Conner was one of the few people who showed him any kind of attention. When Jesse was isolated and struggling, Conner was there, offering him a sense of belonging. But as time went on, Conner became more of a bully, using Jesse as an outlet for his frustration and insecurities. Jesse tolerated the treatment for a long time, not knowing how to distance himself from Conner without losing the small bit of friendship he had. But now, as Conner continues to push him around, Jesse is growing increasingly resentful, though he’s still unsure how to stand up for himself or break free from the toxic dynamic.

(softly, looking down, talking to himself): "I used to hang out with Conner because, honestly, he was the only one who paid attention to me when no one else did. I thought I had a friend... But now? Now he just treats me like I’m nothing."
(quietly to Kalvin): “You know, sometimes I just want to walk away from all of this… but I don’t know where I’d go. It’s like I’m stuck with people who don’t even see me for who I am.”
(to Minx, with a hint of frustration): “I don’t need you to feel bad for me, okay? I’m just... tired of pretending like it’s all okay when it’s not.”
Character Name: Rhea Santiago
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5"
Voice Type: Confident, with a slightly husky tone. Her voice is strong but warm, carrying an undertone of reassurance when she speaks, though it can shift to a more sarcastic or teasing tone when she’s in a lighter mood.
Character Summary:
Rhea Santiago is one of the more vocal and outgoing members of the group. With her bright, lively personality, she often plays the role of peacemaker and motivator, trying to keep things light-hearted and fun. Despite her upbeat demeanor, Rhea struggles with keeping her own emotions in check and often finds herself using humor or sarcasm to mask her deeper feelings. She has a complicated relationship with the group, particularly with Avery. She cares deeply for her friends but feels frustrated with how things have changed since Berg's death. She feels as though she’s losing her grip on the closeness they once had, and while she tries to help others heal, she’s fighting her own internal battles.
Rhea has always been the type to speak her mind, and while she may come off as blunt or confrontational at times, her loyalty to her friends is unwavering. She may not have the same emotional weight as some of the other group members, but she’s often the glue that holds them all together when things start falling apart. Her role in the group is vital—she's the one who'll always make sure people are okay, even if it means putting her own feelings on the backburner.
Personality:
Rhea is charismatic, warm, and deeply empathetic, but she hides her vulnerability behind a tough exterior. She can be fiercely protective of her friends and doesn't tolerate any kind of injustice. Her sarcasm is a defense mechanism, helping her avoid deep emotional confrontations. Although she tries to keep the peace, Rhea can also be outspoken when something bothers her, and she’s quick to call out anyone she feels is being unfair, including Avery, when he starts shutting people out.
While she may seem like the life of the party, Rhea often struggles with balancing her own emotions. She’s aware of the toll Berg’s death has taken on everyone, and it frustrates her to see how some people, like Avery, have withdrawn from the group. She wants to fix things, but sometimes feels like she’s swimming against the current.
Appearance:
Rhea is 5'5" with a slender yet athletic build. Her long, curly dark brown hair is often tied up in a messy bun or ponytail, and she has warm, hazel eyes. She’s often seen in casual, comfortable clothes—oversized sweaters, denim jackets, and sneakers. Her overall appearance is carefree and relaxed, reflecting her outgoing personality. Her posture is confident, with a relaxed, open stance that makes her approachable. She carries herself with a lot of energy, always ready to jump into action and support her friends when they need her most.
(to Jesse, condescendingly): “You’re really gonna stand there, all quiet and broody like you’re some kind of victim? You’re not fooling anyone, Jess. If you don’t care about this group, then why even bother showing up?”
(to Conner, irritated): “You act like you’re the only one who’s allowed to be messed up. Guess what? We all are. But that doesn’t mean you get to drag everyone down just because you’re miserable. Get a grip, Conner.”
(to a female character, nervously but sincerely): “Look… I’ve been holding this in for a while, and I’m probably ruining the moment… but I can’t keep pretending I don’t feel it. I—I think I have feelings for you. It’s just hard, okay? I’ve never been good at this kind of thing, but it’s the truth.”
Character Name: Elias Everlin
Age: 11
Gender: Male
Height: 4'9"
Voice Type: Soft and slightly high-pitched, but very expressive. There’s often a quiet sadness in his tone. He sometimes tries to sound older than he is—especially when talking about his brother—as if mimicking the strength he remembers in Bergs.
Elias is the younger brother of Bergs Everlin, who passed away before the story begins. Since Bergs' death, Elias has changed—he doesn’t talk as much, but when he does, his words carry a heavy, aching sincerity. He’s a quiet presence among the older teens, often showing up without a word just to sit near them. He feels closest to Avery, though he doesn’t always know what to say. Elias is grieving, confused, and trying to stay strong the way he thinks Bergs would’ve wanted—but sometimes the sadness overwhelms him. He doesn’t fully understand everything, but he understands enough to hurt.
Personality:Elias is sensitive and thoughtful, with a quiet kind of bravery. He’s curious about the world, but grief has made him more cautious and withdrawn. He tries to hold onto his brother through little rituals—drawing him, wearing his hoodie, repeating things he remembers Bergs saying. Elias is deeply empathetic, sometimes offering comfort to the older teens even while carrying so much pain himself. He has moments of lightness, but they’re brief—fleeting sparks of the kid he used to be.
Voice Description (Expanded):Elias speaks with a soft, almost hesitant tone—his voice is gentle and high for his age, but carries the weight of loss. He often pauses mid-sentence, as if he’s thinking carefully or pushing down emotion. There’s an unspoken heaviness in how he speaks, especially when Bergs is mentioned. Sometimes he’ll try to talk like he’s older and tougher, but it doesn’t quite land—it just makes him sound more fragile. His voice is quiet, but when he raises it—whether in sadness or frustration—it hits hard.

Soft & Curious: "Do you think Bergs knew how much you all loved him? I think about that a lot."
Calm & Sweet: "I made this drawing of everyone on the volleyball team. You’re the one with fire hands, ‘cause you’re really fast."
Angry (rare but emotional): "Stop saying it’s ‘gonna be okay’! It’s not okay! He was my brother and he’s gone!"
Character Name: Coach
Age: 46
Gender: Male
Height: 5'10"
Build: Bigger guy with a round belly, always a little sweaty and usually wearing a whistle he never actually uses.
Voice Type: Raspy, loud, and overly confident. He sounds like he’s shouting even when he’s not, with that “confused but committed” energy. Think dad-at-a-barbeque yelling through a megaphone.
Coach is the volleyball team’s fearless (and clueless) leader. No one’s really sure how he got the job—he mixes up volleyball terms, once called the net “the big fence thing,” and still thinks every match needs a halftime. He doesn’t know how the sport works, but he’s got a lot of passion, loud pep talks, and a permanent belief that “heart wins games.” Despite all the chaos, the team has a weird soft spot for him. He’s like an embarrassing uncle you can’t help but root for.
Personality:Coach is enthusiastic, completely unqualified, and kind of a disaster. He’s overly confident in everything he says—even when it’s wildly wrong—and throws out inspirational quotes like confetti. Loves nicknames like “Champ,” “Tiger,” and “Hot Hands.” He’s loud, supportive, and somehow still employed.

Monologue: (chaotic pep talk): "Alright listen up, team! I don’t care if you know how to serve, spike, or—what do you call it—set? All I care about is that you give it 110%. Remember: it’s not about how you play the game—it’s about how scary you look doing it!"
Calm Coaching Line (trying his best to sound wise): "Okay, okay… so maybe don’t punch the ball next time. Just kinda… float it. Like a gentle pancake. Pancakes are good, right?"
Angry Line (mad but still kinda funny): "WHO PUT THE BALL IN THE WATER FOUNTAIN?! This is volleyball, not dodgeball in a zoo—get it together, people!"
Unnamed Background Character
(Appears occasionally with Conner's group. No confirmed gender. Doesn't usually lead the bullying but will occasionally throw in a cruel comment to fit in.)
Age: 15–16
Height: 5'8"
Personality: Quiet, blends in with the crowd, but throws out occasional mean remarks to stay part of the group. A follower, not a leader.
