WATSON (sounding apprehensive]: hello? I do not mean to intrude, the wind pushed one's front door open and I did not want any of the wrong sort coming into harm here. Not that that creates a good image for one like myself...
WATSON NARRATION: Just when I ought to believe that London might actually have the seven circles of Hell sewn into it and I might just so happen to fall into the sixth of them. An Angel seemed to pick me up off the floor and point me in the direction of the better side. Now, I am not typically a man of such a heinous belief, yet it seems that God is always triumphant in situations when thou needs help the most.
- This podcast follows the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, documented by John Watson’s diarry in 1887. Sherlock is aristocratic, intelligent and eventually an addict. At the beginning of the podcast he is 26 years old, by the end he is 31. Sherlock is odd, but he is humble nethertheless. He cares about a huge deal of people, especially Doctor John Watson. It would be preferred if you had a microphone with no background noises.

holmes:so...doctor John Hamish Watson, a man of a high regard you are. I bet but a shilling that you have stories to tell of your time at war. I can only thank you greatly for your incredible service.It is an absolute honour to be talking with you. Maybe to even be living with one of such a high degree. In the first few months of our friendship, I must warn one there may be some things about me in which one may be unhappy. For example, I frequently conduct science experiments regarding my deep investigations right over there on the kitchen table. However, if it eases any of your worries, I have not blown up the kitchen since 1885! I must warn you doctor Watson I am a complete mad bag of frogs henceforth; by agreeing to live with one one must accept one's flaws.For it is not applicable in which you understand the likes of my occupation, all my general state of being. It is simply applicable in which we share flaws together of our own and embrace them greatly. I am a consulting detective, Doctor Watson, with your greatest ability to address crime scenes or reasons for death,I can only hope that you will not only live by my side but work by my side, too. I hope you understand that it is with greatest respect in which I ask you the big question.
- Mycroft is often painted as this sinister intentioned man. Whether or not he is, is up for interpretation. However, we see a large resemblance between Mycroft and Sherlock, they work well together despite their slight report. We first see Mycroft in an original episode named “the brother” where the Holmes brothers solve a case together. It has an exploration of Mycroft’s life and their childhood. Mycroft is 7 years older than Sherlock, yet he appears much more. Mycroft is highly intelligent, he and his younger brother are a good work force together.

MYCROFT [sincere]: Sherlock, do not waste your breath on such foolishness. Do not throw away your life wondering how to live it. One must live first, and think later.
Minor role that appears in 1 episode of the pod. Around 30 years old. A war veteran with a yorkshire accent. Good friend of Doctor John Watson.

- Gregson is a re-occuring role in the pod, he works for the Scotland yard and is very well aquatinted with Sherlock Holmes. He is young, aged around 25, but he is good in his field. He has a rivalry with Detective Inspector Lestrade, Sherlock Often implies that the two are an item. Happy to have him have any sort of british accent, as long as it’s audible for the language of 1887.

GREGSON [panting]: Mr Holmes, sir— it is urgent, sir! Brixton, there has been a fatal incident.
GREGSON: You know very well that i will not be interfering with the likes of Detective Inspector Lestrade.
GREGSON [Confused]: Teddy-? Mr Holmes, i’m not too certain how Lestrade will take this upcoming—
- Lestrade is the head of the Scotland Yard, and he is in a bitter rivalry with Thomas Gregson. He isn’t all too keen on Holmes and Watson as a pair, but if the crime gets solved, then who is he to complain? He is around 30, he is experienced in his field and he has a natural sense of authority. He will appear in a handful of episodes of the podcast.

LESTRADE [shouting]: Oi! Holmes, a man is dead. No time for your Dawdling!
LESTRADE: Oh for crying out loud Gregson… what have i told you about talking sweet nothings to Sherlock bloody Holmes!?
- Mrs Hudson is the landlady and the caretaker of 221b. She is a lively cockney woman, trying to keep up appearances in order to keep her job working for Sherlock Holmes. She has an elaborate background regarding her struggle with poverty in the 1880’s. She is around 46, she is maternal to Sherlock and has a soft spot for John. She is a comedy character with dry wit and a big heart.

MRS HUDSON [disgusted]: Oh Mr Holmes, what have i told you about all these… things! This is getting utterly ridiculous now, a skull?!
MRS HUDSON: Owwee hello dearie, i’m Mrs Hudson. Don’t worry, i won’t get in the way of your experiments with that loony bag over there. (Aside, whispering to John) and i may be a woman, but i’m a thousand times more fun then that boring windbag over there..!!
- Ms Adler is a character who appears in 1 full episode of the podcast “a scandal in Belgravia.” Where we see her and Sherlock Holmes fall head over heels for one another. She is seen in flashbacks, so may be in a couple odd scenes here and there. She is a strong woman who knows her worth and can rise to the challenge of Sherlock Holmes. However, she is defeated when Sherlock choses to save John rather than her. It seems that Ms Adler and Sherlock have known each other for quite some time, however John fails to string together the nature in which they did meet. She is 25 at the time of ASIB.

IRENE, luring him closer: No more boys… Sherlock. You do not need anybody else. Just us. Remember what we agreed on not 3 years ago? Only 7 years more, Mr Holmes.. and you’ll be mine, for good.
- James Moriarty is a professor of mathematics. He is the mastermind behind all of the games that are afoot for Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. His age is unknown, yet his intelligence is wicked, rising to the challenge of Sherlock Holmes. He is a reoccurring part of the podcast, whether there are hints to his story, or he is there. We see him most predominantly in the final episode of the podcast. Not to spoil the plot, but it doesn’t end well. :)

- She is the wife of Doctor John Watson, often forgotten about as the stories go on, yet she plays a crucial part. She will be a reoccurring character, predominantly in “sign of four” which is the second story going to be covered in the podcast. She is slightly younger than John at the time that they meet. John meets Mary while they’re on a case and she falls head over heels for him. John marries her out of obligation, yet, doesn’t have any intention of moving out of Baker Street. She is the typical “wife” in Victorian England. She can be european?

MRS WATSON: Oh— uhm… hi. I’m Mary, Mary Sillena. I’ve heard all about you, Doctor Watson, and your… friend. Sherlock Holmes? You do amazing work!
MRS WATSON: Wouldn’t you want to move away from all of that… detective nonsense? We’re married now, John. You’re supposed to love *me.* i will not live in the shadow of a man who can’t even look in your direction!
- Drebber is the man found dead in “a study in rouge.” We see how he ended up there through a series of flashbacks where it reveals that he and a friend, Stangerson, sold a woman named Lucy Ferrier to a Whore house. It is revealed that he and Stangerson were murdered by Lucy Ferrier’s Husband, Mr Jefferson Hope. Drebber is an awfully wicked character who should terrify listeners.

DREBBER: Now now… you’re nothing but unfaithful. There’s not a chance in which you can go on, pretending to love a man that you don’t. You deceiving slut!
- Stangerson is the second man found dead in “a study in rouge.” Who was an accomplice to Constable Drebber in the selling of Lucy Ferrier. He is found dead in a boarding house, where it is discovered that he was an accomplice. He is awfully quiet that it’s off putting, yet, he and drebber make the wicked pairing.

STANGERSON: yeah. Staying unloyal, you’re nothing but filth you are!
- The main victim of the study in rouge tragedy. We see her in a collection of flashbacks. He is dead by the time we see her in reality (when Holmes and Watson uncover her). She was 19 years old. Trained to be a wife from a young age, married to an old man.
