What is S&S Pro?
Sage and Siren Productions is a new channel posting small series of fan-dub clips with the goal of larger projects in the near future. I, Jurina, work in professional video editing for my day job, so this is solely for fun and an experience that I would like to share with all of you.
What clips are you dubbing?
We are starting with three clips from the original Idolmaster series. The clips are viewable here!
And then what?
Once cast, you will be sent your scripts and voiceless templates to record with. When we get to this point, I will be posting auditions for our next set of clips, so stay tuned!
Rules:
Be kind to your fellow actors.
You must be 18+ to audition for anything related to S&S. This seems like the smartest decision to protect everyone involved.
If you fail to turn in lines by the deadline without prior approval/extensions then you will be terminated from your role and black-listed from any other S&S projects.
Actions within our projects and beyond can reflect upon S&S as a whole. If you are found to be participating in any form of unethical behavior (hate speech, racism, homophobia, etc.) you will be terminated from your role and black-listed from any other S&S projects.
The Producer is a young, rookie who has been put in charge of a new set of pop idols, 765 Pro. He is hardworking and dedicated to taking care of his team. Although nervous about his own performance at times, Producer is always ready to cheer the girls on or give them encouragement and advice when needed.
(Conflicted, stressed) You're right. Shit. We need to buy more time, but Miki's the only one who's practiced these songs...
Hibiki. Makoto. Can I ask you both to be her backup? If anything happens you'll be ready to cover for Miki. Don't stress and go give it everything you've got!
(comforting, nervous) Chihaya, you shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself. Let's not worry about singing for now, okay? We can give you whatever break you need.
Chihaya never wanted to be an idol. Her only dream is to keep singing. She can come across as very cold since she has a hard time deciding and expressing her emotions. She is also a difficult person to socialize with, sometimes shutting herself away from people to practice singing instead. Despite these facts, Chihaya does have a soft spot for others, especially for people whom she cares about.
You should also submit a brief English singing example for this role. Her voice should be mature and serious.
(empty, mournful) It's all true. Everything they say is true. I had a little brother...and it's my fault he died.
(curious) How much would something like this even cost?
(genuine, dutiful) You were truly amazing out there, Miki. Now it's my turn.
Miki is a very lazy and laid-back character, never taking anything too seriously. Even still, she has above-average grades in school and always pushes herself when performing. Because of this, Miki believes she can reach top idol rather easily, which is a dream she wishes for more than anything else.
You should also submit an English singing example for this role if you can.
(determined, passionate) No. I want to try. I'm ready to test my limits.
(sleepy, yawning) Hi...my name's Miki Hoshi...good night. (starts to fall back asleep, but startles back awake briefly) Oh. I also have really big boobs. (falls back asleep)
(exhausted, out of breath, emotional) Did I do alright? The stage was shining so bright...! So...does that mean I was shining too?
Dreaming of being an idol since she was young, Haruka is a very cheerful and hard-working girl who loves to sing.
Because spending time together is an important value to Haruka, she loves her friends and fellow idols from 765 Production immensely and is happiest when she can work and sing together with them. However, she is shown to be very clumsy, often tripping and falling over nothing. Despite this, she enjoys engaging in physical activities, such as dancing or sporting events.
Haruka's voice should be energetic and fun.
(cheerful, awkward) Well, the price really just depends on the memory size!
(dejected, concerned) No, I had no idea that Chihaya had a brother...
(encouraging) You can do it, Miki!
Makoto is known as the tomboy of the group. She has more female fans than male ones and is very popular at her all-girls high school. Makoto is a very energetic, determined, and honest girl who deep-down wishes to find her own feminity through being an idol. She is very confident in her dancing skills, and though being self-taught, she is known to be one of the best dancers in 765 Production. Makoto also loves to do sports, in fact before her idol debut she used to train at an Aikido dojo near her house, leading her to also be very physically strong.
Makoto's voice should almost sound like a young teenage boy.
(curious to panic) What's going on you guys? Is something back there? ...A COCKROACH?! SOMEONE KILL IT! QUIT MESSING AROUND AND GET RID OF IT!!
(gloomily reading an article aloud) Chihaya Kisaragi's Dark Secret: "A Sister". It's confirmed that Chihaya from Namuko Pro was present at the time of her brother's death. The young, innocent child was simply trying to reach his older sister when he was hit by a car and departed from this world.
(concerned) Are you sure about this, Miki?
Mami is a mischievous and energetic girl who is bustling with confidence. Her twin sister Ami, who she often finds her way into trouble with, is also an idol under 765 Pro.
Her voice should be cute and just a bit lower than Ami's. These two can easily be voiced by the same person.
(bubbly) Hey! I'm Mami! Nice to meetcha!
(pestering) C'mon!~ Let Mami film something!~
(playful) Come out with your hands up!
Ami is a mischievous and energetic girl who is bustling with confidence. Her twin sister Mami, who she often finds her way into trouble with, is also an idol under 765 Pro.
Her voice should be cute and just a bit higher than Mami's. These two can easily be voiced by the same person.
Hey! Wassup! I'm Ami Futami!
(pestering) Hey, hey! Ask Ami a question, too!
Oh! I see him! Don't let him escape!!
Hibiki is determined and hardworking, but she seems to unintentionally find herself as one of the most clumsy and chaotic characters. She has multiple pets and is a bit of a crybaby. Hibiki also hates wearing anything cute or frilly and prides herself on being an excellent dancer.
Her voice should be somewhat cute and nasally.
(crying, yelling) Oh no! This is bad! Hamazou, where did you run off to?!
(offended) How dare you! Hamazou is *not* a cockroach! He's a hamster!
(comforting) We've got your back, don't worry!
Yukiho is a terrible crybaby who aspires to become an idol in order to one day shed her cowardly disposition. She has a crippling fear of men and dogs and will often shut down when overwhelmed.
Her voice should be very soft-spoken.
(panicking) Where?! Where?! (bumps into Makoto) Oh! I'm sorry Mako--Huh?! (screams) It's a boy!!!
(comically sad and overwhelmed) I'm sorry everyone. I just can't take anymore.
Iori is very polite and sweet towards people she doesn't know, especially her fans, but to the other idols, she has a very sharp tongue and a short temper. Because of this, Iori is known as "The little-devil idol".
Her voice should be a bit bratty, cute, and very high-pitched.
(upset) An interview?! Why didn't you say so sooner! (composes herself, suddenly sweet) Uhm...I-I'm Iori Minase. Its a pleasure to meet you!~
(mischievous giggle, fake "acting" tone) Oh no!~ It's a cockroach!!
(proud, bratty) Hehehe...You're just too easy, Makoto. How are you still so gullible?
Takane Shijou, an elegant and majestic figure, is known as "The Vocal Master", rivaling, and even supposedly surpassing Chihaya's ability. She is a very polite girl, Takane tends to speak and address others in a courteous manner, even her own enemies. She hates being alone and is also extremely smart. There are even widespread rumors that Takane is from the moon.
Her voice should be mature and regal.
Me? I believe that life is about forging a unique path to one's own destiny.
The very writing itself is filled with malice...
Yayoi is very youthful and hyper, though her intentions are good, she seems to be the least intelligent of the group. It can be assumed that this is because she is too busy to focus properly on schoolwork since she is the oldest of five children, who she helps take care of when she isn't training or performing. Nevertheless, she manages to always keep a smile on her face.
Her voice should be medium-high and young-sounding.
(sad) I had no idea that Chihaya even had a brother...
Yukiho, what's wrong?! No, no, no! You can't dig a hole in the kitchen!!
Azusa is the big sister type who has a love for learning new things and fortune-telling. She is always ready to take life at her own pace and is very wise and thoughtful.
Azusa's voice should be caring and sweet.
(lighthearted) Oh no...It says I only have one star of luck for work this month. But I have three stars for luck with love! What a relief!
Huh? Of course! If it's an uplifting fortune then I definitely believe in it.
Ritsuko is a recent idol-turned-producer, ready to take the lead and do her best for the girls in 765 Pro. Although she's commonly exhausted trying to keep up with the younger girl's antics, she provides a "cool aunt" type role to the group's dynamic.
Her voice should be somewhat loud and confident. I imagine something that takes inspiration from Velma (Scooby-Doo) would fit her well.
We have the studio open on the 19th...Kotori, write down that I'll attend practice with the girls that day. (defeated) Ugh, I almost forgot there's this appointment that day too...
(taken aback when asked about her idol career) U-uh...well...I did hope to keep that part less known...But how did you hear about that, anyway?
Welcome! I'm Ritsuko Akizuki, the new producer at Namuko pro! We currently have 12 hardworking girls here and, although most just debuted 6 months ago, they're ready to hit the stage!
Touma is a hot-blooded idol who hates underhandedness. He aims to become the top idol on his own merit. Though he has a sharp tongue, he's rather submissive underneath it all, so he's often teased by his group members.
(confrontational, angry) So this is how you do things?
(angry) I'm telling you not to pull this petty crap!
Kotori is the daughter of a former idol and an office clerk for 765 Production.
(on the phone) I'm sorry. I couldn't quite understand you. Can you please repeat that?
