Project Overview

Hunting Shadows: An ongoing, original, animated, fantasy anime series about monsters, hunters, and magic.

This casting call is for the 3rd episode. (They’re released in parts.)

Episode summery: Chase struggles with his failure to save Nessie from the sirens and the island as he adjusts back to civilization. A strange man with an even stranger secret asks for his help finding a killer who is anything but human. When Nessie miraculously returns one night, her parents and Chase are ecstatic, but an old enemy is still out for blood, and it could easily cost the two unsuspecting teens their lives.

  • (Friendly greeting) Hello, Chase. My name is Victor Osborn. I am a friend of your uncle.

  • (Explaining) Not a who. A what. (dramatic pause) Tell me Chase, do you believe in monsters?

  • (Explaining) I'm a monster hunter, Chase. So was your uncle. You are the sole survivor of the Flemming hunter line, and I need your help. I have to train you.

Personality/Bio: An elf, and one of the few ancient fae left standing, Valentine firmly believes in the protection and preservation of the fae races. Because of a tragic war that took place centuries ago, the fae lost everything to hunters, and he's since kept fighting. Despite his good intentions towards the fae, he's grown very ruthless against humans, resorting to unethical means. He's a cunning leader with a sharp tongue and slightly poetic way of speaking.

  • (Bitter and distressed) Yes. (pause) We have made an enemy of the one person who should be our greatest ally. She is one of the most powerful beings in the world, and she doesn't even know it. She doesn't even know who she really is.

  • (Motivational speech) Are we but sheep to be suppressed by wolves? Or do we fight back? There has truly never been a better time, my friends. Please, join us in this fight. We need you now more than ever before.

  • (Emotionally moved) It has been so long, my old friend. Please make yourself at home. My house is your house for as long as—(interrupted by another speaker)
