Hot Mess Hotel: The Pilot
Project Overview
Hi guys! This casting call is for the pilot episode, and then the eventual first season, of "Hot Mess Hotel," a small indie series I'm working on. It's my first time taking on such a big project, and I can't wait to work with yall!!
Here's the synopsis: "Nigo Cardona, who's almost 18, is at risk of failing out of school again, and his parents tell him it's time to get moving. But fate, almost by chance, brings him to a hotel, once a castle in an evil kingdom, along with his three idiot friends. What could possibly go wrong?" I'm looking for:
animators
Storyboarders
SFX maker, bg music maker
HOW TO CANDIDATE FOR ONE OF THESE ROLES?
ANIMATOR: submit an animation test of the characters, and / or a drawing of them. The artstyle needs to be as close as possible to mine!! If you want to see examples of my animations (it has a 2000s cartoonish mtv vibe, inspo, etc) you can find them in the linked page!
STORYBOARDER: Try to make a little storyboard for a scene from the HMH script ( here )
SFX / BG MUSIC: you can submit anything! You can make music for a scene from the script, edit some sound effects and music on an animation of mine or get inspired for music by them!
There will be compensation if the Hot Mess Hotel pilot goes viral, then I'll figure out how to split the video's earnings (if I get monetization) with those who worked on it. If the project goes forward, but the pilot is an experiment for now, so consider it a sort of passion project
anyone who works on the project will be also credited in the closing credits of each episode, with thanks, and on the series page on CharacterHub as well!!
I’m planning to get the pilot done for next summer (circa June 2027), but we can set an earlier or later date based on how fast we can work on the thing. Animator
We need animations!! I need an animator who’s able to do animations that look like a 2000s cartoon (check out the project desc to see my animations) and the characters in the animation must look as close to their original design as possible. I need you to have the amount of experience needed to make animations that look like mine!! I would prefer if you use animation programs like toonsquid, procreate dreams, or clip studio paint!!

We need storyboarders!! As I said in the project description, you can take inspo from the script for submissions. A little knowledge of how to do storyboards is needed, you can either make them on paper (scanned with printer) or digitally, just make sure everything you draw is clear and understandable for who’s going to make animations! I’m gonna work on storyboards with you as well, so don’t worry!!
