Horror Shop Radio Ep. 8: A Gift 2 Remember
Project Overview
Casting for Episode 8 of Horror Shop Radio: "A Gift 2 Remember". Horror Shop Radio is a monthly horror anthology podcast, produced in an audio drama format. It can be heard on all the major podcast platforms and is developing a nice following thus far. Currently, we have no funding so there is no budget and no compensation. Your name will be voiced in the end credits of the show as well as be listed on our IMDB page. We also do Cast Announcements on our social media platforms to recognize our wonderful talent for their contributions.
This episode is tentatively set for a mid-late December release so we would like to have all dialogue recorded by December 6. If you can record via a ZOOM meeting or something of the like so we can have all actors feed off one another, that would be ideal for this episode!
This particular episode contains explicit language, adult themes, and depictions of violence. Make sure you are ok with this before you submit an audition.
You must have a good quality microphone and no background noise. Unfortunately, I cannot consider any audition if the audio quality is not good. Please do not add any effects on your auditions. Nicholas is a charming young man, mid-twenties. He also has another side that tends to come out from time to time, and can exhibit erratic behavior. He has anger issues, which are suppressed but do come out in parts of the story. He is able to switch from truly charming and sympathetic to psychotic on a dime. IF YOU AUDITION FOR NICHOLAS, PLEASE AUDITION FOR VINCENT AS WELL! DO NOT CHANGE THE ACCENT OR NATURAL VOICE OF THE CHARACTER. THE SAME ACTOR WILL PLAY BOTH ROLES.

Vincent is a psychotic killer. He is cold and calculating but with a mocking sarcasm. He is able to control his emotions when necessary and hide the "evil" that exists inside his charming exterior.

Well look who decided to wake up...rise and shine motherfuckers! (LAUGHING)
Ah! Got ya again! (LAUGHING) You didn't shoot me...you shot...MY BROTHER! And you know what?? That was pretty fucked up to be honest! Look at poor little Nicky over there in the corner. And my hands! (SPEAKING TO A DOCTOR, TRYING TO SOUND SINCERE)
Oh no sir, nothing like that! When I got home, I found him unconscious at the bottom of the stairs. Took a nasty fall...he must've hit a nail or something on the way down.
Andrea is a young woman in her mid-twenties. At first glance, she is kind-hearted, flirtatious, and caring. As it turns out, she is deceptive and conniving and has other intentions, which comes out in the third line here.
(LAUGHING)

(SHAKEN BUT TRYING TO SOUND REASSURING)
Nick, just calm down. It was probably just a silly prank call, like you said. Maybe the gift is from a family member. Did you have anyone over to visit recently? Maybe they left it for you.
(SINISTER AND COMMANDING)
Took a while to come up with a plan but once we did, we knew we had to see it through. I still can't believe you fell for the pretty girl at the burger joint, just fawning over you. Surprising since I'm a little out of your age range, right? So, I played the dating game with you for a few weeks to earn your trust and get inside the house...WHICH leads us to tonight.
David, mid-twenties, is a sarcastic, determined vigilante. He is hellbent on doing whatever it takes to get what he wants. A good man, deep down but terrible events in his life have changed him and killed a part of him on the inside.
Heh...guess you didn't like the gift huh? Musta been such a shocker, you passed the fuck out! Took a damn nose dive, face first on the floor. Damn...nice gash you got there! Looks painful...
The phone calls were my idea. Thought it'd add a nice touch. Always did like that movie...ya know, the guy in the goofy mask..(DOING HIS BEST GHOSTFACE IMPRESSION) "Hello Nicky, what's your favorite scary movie?" Heheh...this voice changer thing is great!
