Felicitations voice actors! We're looking for people to voice our lead characters in our indie pilot! Huggenhold is about a bat child, Barnaby, and his maternal owl guardian, Baba, living their lives in the dark woods, loving each other, all that good stuff.

For these auditions, we ask that you use an XLR mic, though USB mics may be alright if in a well treated space. No background noise, plosives, peaks, or audio clipping please! We want this to have an authentic sound.

This will be live directed, if you are chosen, so we can guarantee the best delivery. Not to say you won't have any creative input, we welcome outside input by all means.

  • UPDATED CLOSING TIME

    Hello everyone! We want to first and foremost thank everybody for their participation. Due to the overwhelming interest in our project, we have decided to close auditions early, moving the new deadline from August 12th to July 22nd at 11:30 PM EST (a week from now)

    We hadn't anticipated the amount of auditions we’d received, and are grateful for the investment you all have put in. We look forward to hearing from you all, and plan on holding more casting calls for future characters in due time. But for now, we thank you all wholeheartedly, and wish you all the best of luck in your further endeavors.

Barnaby is a scruffy, crude, feral little bat child who loves playing in the woods, discovering new things, and spending time with his doting Baba.  He's a hyper little urchin who means well. 

Barnaby is very much gremlin-coded, overflowing with energy. He’s a very vocal character, prone to making creature noises while performing various tasks such as climbing or running through the woods. Barnaby is a very emotional kid. He may be a little stinker, but his feelings are very real. When he cries, he CRIES. When he laughs, he falls out of his chair

Barnaby is a lead role so we will be particular about his deliveries. 

Alongside the audition lines, please provide up to 15-20 seconds of gremlin/creature sounds (EX. Climbing a tree, scampering through the woods)

Baba is a mature, husky, maternal owl with a love for cooking, crafting and her darling Barnaby. She has a very warm presence, but can easily see through anyone’s bull. And despite her larger size, she’s a gentle soul with plenty of love to go around.

For Baba, we need someone with a particular age to her voice. Her voice is on the deeper mature register. She’s not an old lady, nor is she a younger woman. Her age falls in the older middle aged range. Think of a very loving aunt, or a bear-hugging hockey mom. She may have some grit, but overall she’s very motherly, especially towards Barnaby.
