Rules for auditioning:
Must be 15+
Please record in a quiet space.
Must be able to record lines on time.
Must be able to commit to a long-term project, as Higurashi is a very long visual novel.
Must be okay with these content warnings

Keiichi is the main narrator of half the story, and thus, is one of the characters with the most lines. He is about 14, with a slightly high-pitched and nasal tone.
It is important to be able to portray a paranoid tone. Also, it is important that you are able to scream, because he does that a lot.
"...This deck is pretty worn out. (beginning to realize) ...No way... (comically terrified for the situation) Can everyone tell by the scratches what the card on the table is...?!"
(comical, as if being bested) "UwaAaaAaaAaaaAAah!!" / (also record a take that is more serious, as if he is losing his grip on reality)
(panicking and confused) "...This unnatural way of dying...!!! If this wasn't a mysterious death, then what was...?"
Mion and Shion Sonozaki are identical twins, and thus, would have the same voice.
Mion is a mischievous, teasing girl of about 15. As the heir of the Sonozaki family, she has a serious side, but around her friends, she's playful and fun.
Shion is similar in the teasing aspect. She is rebellious towards her family and authority in general, having run away from her charter school.
It is important to be able to express a variety of emotions for this role.
(teasing) "Ooh~ So that's your excuse for being late and keeping two girls waiting!?"
(screaming, desperate) "No more... please...! No more!! I don't want to see anyone else die!!! If you hate me... then just kill me already!!! I'm the one you hate, right?! Kill me, kill me right now!! Siiiiiiiiiiiiis!!!!"
(literally just insane) "Ah-hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!! If you want to die that badly, then after I've killed this man, I'll take my time making mincemeat out of you."
Rika Furude is a girl of about 8 years old. She is usually slightly deadpan, but comes off as cute. She seems to know a little more about things than she lets on.

Rika Furude is the true protagonist of Higurashi. When she is killed, she loops back to the beginning of June. Therefore, her true personality is jaded and serious, having a deeper, adult voice.
(earnest, *slightly* monotone) "...I think... it's better if we do it when we have everyone together."
"...Nipah~~☆."
(adult voice, serious) "...Stop whining. ...When you tried crossing the road when the Don't Walk sign was up, did your parents finish explaining why it was dangerous before pulling you back to the sidewalk? They'd pull you back right away, wouldn't they? They'd pull you back before explaining why it was dangerous, wouldn't they? ...In other words, it's something like that."
Satoko is an 8 year old girl who loves playing pranks. She speaks somewhat formally, but she is mischievous and fun all-around, loving a good competition. However, she's also whiny at times and susceptible to crying fits.
You must be able to give a variety of emotions for this character.
(bragging) "Wo-ho-ho-ho! Yesterday our neighbors shared some meat with us, so we ended up grilling it for our bento!"
(insulting playfully) "That's just summer camp! I never anticipated how destitute Keiichi-san's imaginative capabilities would actually be~."
(scared, tired) "...I-I'm sorry... But you... told me to go right away..." / (panicked) "...I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...!"
Ooishi is an older man who is investigating Oyashiro-sama's curse in Hinamizawa. He serves as an antagonist at times, and a protagonist others.
(encouraging, but suspicious) "I have the AC on in my car; let's talk there. It's a bit hot here, don't you think?"
(cautious, encouraging but questioning) "Do you know of that... well, curse, Maebara-san? Feel free to speak openly about it."
(slightly intimidating) "It would seem that he died last night. That was the night of the Watanagashi. Do you understand the implications behind that, Maebara-san?"
Tomitake is a photographer who visits Hinamizawa. He is laid-back and friendly.
(introductory, friendly) "I'm Tomitake. Freelance photographer. I come to Hinamizawa from time to time."
(solemn) "...It was quite a disturbing incident... they still haven't found one of the arms."
(teasing) "I'd best leave you two lovebirds alone. Again, my apologies for startling you, 'Keiichi-kun.'"
Takano is a sultry woman who works as a nurse. She is also studying Oyashiro-sama's curse.

Takano is the one who administers the shots of Hinamizawa Syndrome, causing the disease. As such, she is the main antagonist of the story.
(smiling) "How was it, Keiichi-kun? Did you enjoy the festival?"
(serious, intimidating) "...You're willing to accept everything I stand for. I believe that you understand me completely. ...That's why I can give you everything I have. ......I want you to accept everything about me... Do you understand...?"
(condescending) "...Well, let me tell you something nice. That vaccine you took before you came here was fake. You may not have noticed it, but you're already an L3 patient of the Hinamizawa Syndrome."
Chie is the homeroom teacher at Hinamizawa's small school. She is very caring and serious when the situation calls for it. She has an intense love for curry.
"Maebara-kun~ May I have a moment?"
(informative, friendly) "You have a guest. Please make your way to the entrance."
Will edit lines over the visual novel and put together videos.
